Description: Jaylene gets wind that Uetia's out of sorts

Once the day's drills were over, Jaylene sighed heavily and looked Uetia's way. Without saying a word, she caught the younger woman's eye and nodded to where her little used office lay. From what her brother had told her, this wasn't going to be a fun talk. But it was a talk that needed to happen, all the same.
Uetia followed Jaylene, half curious, half dreadfilled. Her drills hadn't been that bad, had they? Her concentration had been slipping once or twice..or trice. Not to mention Sabonus' absence made her bad tempered.
Jaylene smiled at Uetia as they entered the office. "K;ah? Or something stronger?" it was getting late into the afternoon, a drink wouldn't be untold. She watched Uetia to see what choice she would make.
Uetia shook her head, declining both. "What is it?" she asked.
They were friend long enough that Jaylene didn't see any reason in beating around the bush. "Have you been to see the dolphin lately?"
Uetia actually had to stop and think back. "No, I haven't, not for few sevendays," she replied. "I haven't been swimming much lately."
Jaylene sat down and studied her friend for a moment. "I hate to ask you this, but have you had your period on cycle this month?"
"They were...umh, let me see..," she had to stop to count with her fingers, " before Sirjath's latest mating flight. Whoops. You're not saying that I could be?" Uetia wasn't stupid, she just didn't want to believe it.
Jaylene just raised an eyebrow. "I'm free today, if you want to go over to see the dolphins."
"I could use a support person, since Sabonus isn't here now," Uetia said. She was suddenly feeling very nervous. She and Sabonus had talked about babies but Uetia hadn't felt ready yet. She was only 22. Now, it looked like it was happening anyways, despite the precautions. Sabonus was going to be so happy.
"Are you sure it's Sabonus'?"
"Who else? Except for Sirjath's mating flights, I haven't slept with other men," Uetia replied.
Jaylene rolled her eyes before throwing a soft object at the girl's head in an amused way. "I_was_thinking about the Flight. Didn't it just happen within the last month?"
"Yes, it was. Aren't you leaping ahead? It's not even certain yet," Uetia sounded irritated.
Jaylene stood up. "Well, rather than argue like two old aunties, let's just go over to the dolphins and get it over, eh?"
"Yes," Uetia agreed.
**Fanth, can you and Sirjath come join us?** Jaylene lifted her riding straps off the hook just behind her door. "Need a pair for your green?" she nodded to the spare set still on the hook. The sooner they got this test done, the better.
Uetia shook her head, "I didn't remove straps from Sirjath after the drills."
"Great, let's go then." Jaylene tucked her hand into Uetia's arm in a show of affection for her friend.
