Tamah was feeling apprehensive when he approached Uetia's weyr. This was part of Harbour Master's job he didn't enjoy. "Uetia, are you home?" he called. Of course she was, Sirjath was sleeping in her wallow. Tamah sighed. No way to avoid it.

"Tamah, this is an unexpected visit," the green rider greeted him.

She got the distinct feeling it was not going to be a good. The Harbor Master had a grim expression on his face. She led him in.

"Uetia. I'm afraid this isn't a pleasant one," Tamah answered. "You better sit down."

That really scared Uetia. "I don't like the sound of that," she said and took a seat anyway. Her insides seemed to turn to ice. Most of her family were seacrafters and Tamah was the harbor master... she could almost guess what it was. The big question was...who? Her father...one of her brothers...Sabonus...her mind shied away from that thought. Tamah sat down next to her. His flits landed on his shoulder and they seemed to regard Uetia with concern.

"And I really don't like delivering these kind of news," Tamah's voice was gentle and he took hold of Uetia's hand. "I received a message from Nerat. The ship where Sabonus is on assignment, well, it didn't arrive there on schedule. There's been bad storm in the general area his ship is supposed to be. Nerat's Harbour master has reason to believe that Storm Chaser has sunk. I'm so sorry, Uetia. Looks like Sabonus isn't coming home to you."

"Are you sure?" Uetia's lips felt frozen.

"They conducting searches, dolphins and seacrafters are on the look out for that ship, but, yes, it's pretty sure."

Uetia stared his face. Tamah was seacrafter himself. He knew. She was seacrafter's daughter. She knew. "Sabonus...dead?" The words felt like they stuck on her throat.

Tuned to her rider's thoughts, Sirjath woke up suddenly and let out a sorrow filled keen. Expressing the emotions Uetia just now couldn't get out. "Dead," she whispered and then the world just blacked out.
