A Little Chatter and A Project

Location: Dolphin Hall
Date: month 12, day 2 of Turn 7

It was good to be getting back into routines and schedules now. Famell
had been making a point to catch up and spend time with all the
Masters, journeyman and as many of the other staff and apprentices as
he could. He knew between Shilara's pregnancy, his own untimely
illness and the birth of Ahimell that he had seemed almost
non-exsistant for many of the past months. It was time to rectify
that!

Heading out to the main inlet that the dolphineers used, Famell
glanced around to see what all was taking place this morn.

When the dolphins clicked their hello, Irabel was warned of the
arrival of someone, then turned to note who that someone exactly was.
A single hand lifted to wave in greeting before the Famell drew close
enough to actually converse with. "Good morning, Master. I hope the
day finds you well."

"Aye, it does," he replied, "and you?" He glanced around at the
dolphins, many of whom were also trying to get his attention to greet
him. Seeing them flitting around in the water brought a smile to his
face.

"Doing well. Life has been rather dull and dreary as of late, to be
honest." Irabel patted the dolphin who slipped into deeper waters
before she trudged closer to the shore. "How's the little one?"

"He's doing well too," Famell replied with a fond smile on his face.
"Growing already and changing everyday. It's amazing to watch him. I
mean, he's not my first, but it's been_so_ long since Famynta was
born I don't really_remember_ what it was like."

"I've yet to have any experience with that." At the rate she was
going, Irabel doubted she ever word. Most of the time she was so
wrapped up in her Craft that it didn't matter. On occasion, however,
that twinge manifested, especially during conversations such as the
current one. "How old is he now?"

"Just over a month now," Famell replied. "You should stop up and see
him." Famell had always wanted to do a little match-making for Irabel.
Something about her had always made him want to protect her and care
for her. She would make a good mother one day, if only the right man
was found.

"Oh," Famell exclaimed holding a finger up as a thought struck him. "I
was speaking with Naton earlier and he was hoping you would be wiling
to go along with the new shipment of lights to the Seacraft Hall. Just
temporary mind you, to show them properly how they work. We both agree
you are the best candidate for the job. However, with some of the
Seacrafters not being as keen on women craters, we also thought it
would be a good idea to send someone with you. Anyone you'd prefer to
work with?"

"I would love to come see him, I just didn't want to make things
awkward." At his proposition, Irabel pondered the question a moment,
then shook her head. "I'm fine with anyone you wish to send. It
might also be good to send an older apprentice or two." It would be a
calm and generally safe expedition, no rescue attempts, no long treks
into the water for discovery or mapping, and it would give them some
experience.

Famell nodded, "That sounds like a good idea. Thank you for suggesting
that Irabel. I'll speak with Naton and he can get everything set up.
He'll let you know as soon as he the supplies are ready. He does want
to send them by dragonback so that they arrive soon, so it won't be
long I imagine."

"Certainly. Just let me know what you need and I will accommodate."
What would be interesting would be the reaction of the Holders to her
as a crafter. Although her prideful side wanted to simply refuse and
go on her own, she was also wiser than that. Yes, it would be good to
have a male presence with her.

"Thank you Irabel, I knew we could count on you," Famell then added,
"Is there anything I can help you with? I know I haven't made rounds
in some time, so I'm just checking in with everyone."

There was another moment of silence as she considered his question
once more, but it was also followed by a negative. "I think I'm all
right for now, thank you." Even with everything keeping her busy,
things were generally going smoothly. Hopefully, they would stay that
way.
