Description: Meledei seeks out Jaffra so she can get a new dress made.

Jaffra tied the stitch off and snipped the thread. She held the finished garment away from her and looked it over with a critical eye. If she wasn't happy, she'd unpick the entire thing and redo it. Luckily, the stitch work was neat and even. All she needed to do was to press the seams and hang it, ready for its owner to pick it up.
A rap upon the door interrupted the tailor's thoughts. When she was given leave, Meledei pressed it open, popped in her head and smiled. "Hi."
"Good morning goldrider." Jaffra put the dress aside carefully and rose to her feet. "What can I do for you?"
"I am in need of a new dress." Meledei hadn't indulged herself in quite some time and felt it was time to do just that. "Please, call me Meledei."
Jaffra nodded. "For what occasion, formal or informal?" It made little difference to her. A woman should look good every day.
"Formal. I'd like a new Gather gown." She had a couple, but it had been a while since Meledei had treated herself to something new. Perhaps it was time to do so again. "I don't get dressed up much, but it's nice to have something lovely when I do, and I could go with something new and different."
The crafter looked her up and down with an appraising eye. "I think I need to sketch up a new design for you. I have several which would suit your figure, but they're popular. You don't want to gather in the same dress as someone else." Faranth forbid!
"That sounds like fun." Meledei had purchased gowns made for her before, but none of the people who had sewn them had made up new designs for her - at least, not that she had known. "I know nothing about making clothes, so I'm at your mercy."
"Basically, yes." Jaffra didn't look as though she was joking. "I need to ask a few questions." She grabbed a pad to make notes. "What's your preference, short or long?"
"Long." Meledei didn't have the body to show off like some other people did. "I like long dresses, three quarter sleeves or shorter, modest necklines." That would give a bit more information at least.
Jaffra frowned. "If that's what you prefer, but none of that will flatter you as it should."
"What would you suggest?" The goldrider was a bit cautious. While she wasn't particularly sensitive about certain things, she also didn't want to look slutty like Rhosyn had in that horrible dress a few hatchings ago.
"I can do up some sketches to give you an idea," Jaffra replied. "Then you can come back and we can go over them."
If she got the chance to view the designs prior to being made, then Meledei could address any changes more easily. "That sounds like a grand idea. I guess then just let me know once you have the sketches done and we can meet again."
Jaffra inclined her head. "Very well goldrider. It should take more than a sevenday. Two at most, depending on our orders and prior commitments."
"Excellent, I look forward to it." Meledei would enjoy a new dress. Even though she could have more, she wasn't the sort to constantly renew her wardrobe for she was a bit more frugal than that. Still, getting something special on occasion was quite pleasant. "Thank you."
"You're welcome." Jaffra nodded.
