Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 9, day 2 of Turn 3

Kirra was excited as she walked with Z'al to D'cal's weyr. She was dressed in the some-what revealing blouse, that her mother had given her before she came to the weyr, and a fun dark brown, knee-length skirt that was more casual than nice. Half of her hair was pulled up on a loose bun with the rest falling down her back. Z'al was wearing a soft brown tunic over dark brown trousers. His hair had begun to grow out a bit so he kept it neatly tied back, for the moment.

He felt bad about telling the guys he couldn't make it, but he had already promised to go to a dinner with Kirra. He smiled as he watched her walk. He was definatly happy he had chosen to come with her.

She smiled feeling his eyes on her. She loved his attention, no matter what kind it was, he made her feel good about herself. She slowed her walk a little bit, came close to his side and grabbed his hand and slipped her shoulders under his arm. "Thank you for coming with me." she leaned her head into his shoulder and sighed contently. She knew he was going to have a good time though, she had her wine she had promised D'ren to bring and a happy attitude that couldn't be soured by anything.

Z'al smiled. "I wouldn't miss spending time with you for anything."

Kirra smiled and slowed to a stop infront of D'cal's weyr. Kirra wondered if Z'al knew D'cal, they had both been here for a while. **Oh, well. They'll meet now.** She knocked on the door and waited happily, with Z'al's arm around her, for some one to answer it.

"Kirra, Z'al, come on in," D'cal smiled as he opened the door to his weyr.

Kirra looked confused, "You know Z'al, D'cal?"

"Yes, since we were boys! Our fathers have been friends for turns," D'cal laughed. "Whats the matter, Z'al? You didn't want to admit to knowing me?"

"We never talked about the specific people we knew," she answered for him.
"Though I am surprised you didn't notice where we were going."

"I was to mesmerized by the beauty of your smile. I am suprised I did not trip and fall flat on my face. Had there been any mention of those we know around the weyr I would have been glad to fill your ears with juicy tales of his misfortune." Z'al smiled winningly.

She blushed at his exaggereated compliment, "We'll have to trade tales then." she said as she winked at D'cal. Dysali ran a comb through her auburn curls one last time, smiling to herself as she realized it reached past her shoulders. D'ren was meeting her at D'cal's Weyr, and she didn't want to be late. She wished that he was coming by for her, but they had both had late drills. The corners of her mouth twitched as she imagined taking D'ren with her when she left the dinner...and not letting him out of her sight. A few moments later, she alighted outside of D'cal's Weyr, scratching Lillyth's eyeridges in thanks for the lift. "D'cal?" she called from the ledge, a carisak under her arm holding wine and sweets she'd filched from the kitchen. "D'cal I do believe you have someone at the door, or rather your ledge."
Z'al replied.

"Dysali!" D'ren called as he hurried out to the ledge to greet her. He had arrived a few minutes before. "You're looking lovely as ever," he said, kissing her.

She heard his voice, then saw his familiar form. Her eyes softened. From their first days at Dolphin Cove, they had been everything to each other. He was as much part of her life now as Lillyth was, and Faranth forbid anything splitting them apart. "Thank you, D'ren. You look like a dream come true, to me.." She grinned, joining him. She returned the kiss warmly, although her hands were a bit full. After the kiss ended she said with a wink, "Let me put this carisak down ..." And she did, then slid both arms around his waist in a hug, leaning against his chest. But only for a moment - after all there was a party going on inside, if the voices were any hint!

"D'ren who's your friend?" Kirra called from the weyr, she was smart enough not to interupt them with her physical pressence.

D'ren picked up the carisak and led Dysali into the weyr. "This is Dysali.
Dysali, this is Kirra. I don't know if you've met before."

Kirra shook her head and smiled, "It's nice to meet you Dysali." Zanie arrived through the interior door looking nervous as she poked her head inside after a soft knock that could hardly be heard over the voices inside. Kirra, who had been absorbing the faces of the new people that came, noticed Zanie at the door. "Hi, I'm Kirra you must be one D'cal's friend's." She opened the door to admit the young woman into the lively weyr.

"I'm Zanie," the dolphineer replied quietly, smiling at Kirra. "Ah, Zanie," D'cal called as he set down the bottles he had been carrying.
He ran over behind Kirra, a broad grin on his face. "Come on in."

Dysali smiled at Kirra in greeting, "Nice to meet you Kirra.." She offered, as she went in beside D'ren and found a spot to sprawl. Her carisak of gifts were presented to the table at large, and she settled back with room next to her for a certain bronzerider. As Zanie joined them, she waved her hand. "Hi Zanie! Come on in and join us.. I think we should try to wake the whole Weyr." Zanie was her friend, someone she knew from Dolphinhall, and someone she also rarely got to visit. Zanie looked more than a little nervous, but she found a corner of a chair to perch on. "Hello, Dysali. It's nice to see you."

Z'al smiled as he decided to be his usual self. He quickly pulled out his pipe and started a very lively tune. Everyone needed to liven up. He could tell Zanie needed something to help her losen up. Kirra smiled at Z'al, **He knew just what we needed.** She made her way over to the wine and poored herself and Z'al glasses and then went over to sit next to him but still close enough to the others to join the conversasion if she wanted. "Maybe I can sing for all of you later," D'ren said as he took a seat beside Dysali. "But first I need a little refreshment." He smiled took a drink from his glass.

She smiled encouragingly at D'ren when he offered to sing. She knew he didn't perform except for himself, and occasionally, her, very often. Her voice was a soft whisper, "That would be wonderful.. " She grinned at him, then turned to Zanie. "How have you been Zanie?" She was saying as Z'al began to play on his pipe. Her foot began to tap and she nodded her head in time with the notes Z'al was letting forth.

Kirra turned towards Zanie as well, she remembered the girl from Dolphinhall but had never really known her.

"Oh, well enough... I've been doing some teaching with the youngest apprentices. It's a lot of fun."

D'cal gave Zanie a reassuring wink as he set down a heaping tray of snacks.
He sat down next to her and handed her a glass of wine before stretching an arm around the back of her chair.

Kirra smiled at D'cal's gentle protectiveness for Zanie, but she didn't muse over it for Z'al's tune was turning into a song she new and she began to hum. Unconsciously mouthing the words, Kirra watched Z'al's fingers dance over the pipes, remembering the way those fingers felt on her skin she unwilling blushed and smiled broadly at the young man that consumed her thoughts. But she had wanted to have this dinner to meet his and D'cal's friends so she made a physical effort of paying attention to what was being said. Z'al stopped playing and smiled arounf at his friends. "Shall we drink to the health of those we love and cherish?"

"That sounds like a fine idea," D'cal smiled, raising his glass. "To those we love and cherish," they said as they clinked glasses. They smiled at new friends, old friends, and shared secret smiles with new loves, glad to have those they loved and cherished so close at hand.
