Lady Yanley

D'ale

K'ale really was a good step-son, Yanley thought. He didn't complain
at all when she had sent him to Vintner Hall to purchase wine for her.
She gave him the marks for it, of course. She lit the candles and
inspected the table with critizing eye, giving a satisfied nod. The
fine dinner was easiest part, she had even cooked some of it herself
(but not all, she also had had hundred and one other things to do
today). Getting someone to take the children over for a night wasn't
hard either. It paid off to be friendly and helpful. When time came,
people were willing to repay the favours. So, she had good wine, good
food and no children underfoot. She was wearing one of D'ale's
favourite dresses (at least when it come to undressing it). All was
left to do was wait to him to come home...and keep the flits away from
food.

"No, Thi, it's not for you," Yanley scolded and shooed the firelizard
away from the covered dishes.

~~ hungry ~~, Bram tried for pleading.

"You're not hungry," Yanley said sternly. "I know it smells delicious."

"Oh something smells good," D'ale's voice drifted in from the front
door to their weyr. His voice was tired as he'd been working extra
hours since K'ran had won the Weyrleadership at River Bluff and left
him in charge of Cyan once again. He smiled though as he came around
the corner and then his brows lifted. "But _you_ look delicious."

"D'ale, welcome home!" Yanley walked over to him and wrapped her arms
around him. She gave him a kiss. "Did you hear the news? Saibra
promoted me to Headwoman." Of course, they had talked about the job
before Yanley accepted the position.

"I did," he said as he pulled her even closer and returned the kiss.
"T'lat had to rush in and tell me. The lad was positively gushing."

"I don't think anyone is actually surprised. It seemed like more and
more of the Headwoman's duties were pushed to me over the past
months," she replied.

"Because you're good at it," he smiled. "At least you now have the
title to go along with the work." He gave her a gentle squeeze.

"Not to mention all the perks that go with it. I'm now free to boss
people around," Yanley said. Although she didn't really _boss_ people.
She got good results by asking nicely. Still, it would be good to have
the authority that came with the title. She was used to it.

"And you have all the needed skills and experience to do the job," he
smiled and kissed her lovable nose. "You deserve this sweetheart."

"Thank you, dearest. Now, let's eat before the food gets cold or the
flits eat it. Then we can have dessert," she said and trailed her
fingers along his chest.

"Aww," he said with a bit of a lear. "Are you sure I can't have my
dessert first." His hands roamed suggestively.

"All good things come to those who wait," Yanley said, although she
was reluctant to pull away from him. "Let's not ruin the effort I put
into the food."

"Only because you insist madam Headwoman," he winked and patted her
bottom. "But you should know that I will always take liberties with
your person, no matter your lofty position." He led her to the table
and sat across from her. Taking a healthy serving of food he began to
dig into his dinner.

"I would be very disappointed if you didn't," Yanley replied and
poured them wine.

"And I would never wish to disappoint you my dear Lady," he lifted her
hand to his lips. "You mean more to me than I could ever say."

"I love you too," Yanley said with chocked voice. He really had turned
her life upside down, in a good way.

"Then I'll be patient for my cuddle and be a good boy... for now." He
smiled and picked up his glass. "To you."

"To us," Yanley lifted her glass to click it with his.
