Description: B'drin and I'zar wake up early to bathe their dragons
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 10, day 19 of Turn 3
It was early, and I'zar had started to make it a habit to rise a little before his fellow weyrlings since it was taking him longer to bathe and oil Zhenireth, since his arm was still in its cast and sling. Hopefully, it would come off soon, although that might be wishful thinking. Even so, Zhenireth was growing so much, and it seemed there was more to him to take care of every day.
**You're growing so fast!** He told the bronze.
}: We do that. :{ The bronze replied. I'zar shook his head, and scrubbed a little more at a particularly itchy patch of the dragon's hide.
B'drin walked in and smiled. Lumyth fallowed behind him and was quick to enter the water. "Good day I'zar. How is the arm?"
"Heya, B'drin. I think it's getting better...although it's kinda hard to tell, you know?" He grinned. "How's Lumyth?"
"Growing," He answered simply.
}: That's what I'm supposed to do.:{ B'drin just chuckled.
I'zar laughed. "So is Zhen. Look at these two. They're going to be really big when they grow up." Zhen opened his wings and used them to splash the brown playfully, and the boys as well since they were in the line of fire.
B'drin chuckled as Lumyth splashed right back. "Makes me cringe to think of him full grown. It's hard enough to keep him fed now. he eats more than anyone I've ever seen."
"At least when they get older they can feed themselves." I'zar said with a grin.
"That is a consolation. Though then there is the washing and oiling."
He joked. "Though he never seems to run out of ways to amaze me."
"Yeah. They are pretty amazing, aren't they? I don't think I'll ever stop thinking that."
"I thought having Pan was an adventure. Lumyth is all together better.
He is funny too. I don't think he means to be though." he watched as his brown tripped and then rightened himself.
}:I meant to do that.:{ He said looking only slightly chargrined, well for a dragon.
Zhenireth waded out of the water, shook off and sat down waiting to be oiled. "I'm glad Lumyth has a sense of humor. Zhenireth is too serious sometimes."
}: I am not!:{ Zhenireth said haughtily.
"Come on. I think we'd better get these boys oiled and off to breakfast before we're late for class!" I'zar said.
"Careful if they hang out together for to long he may rub off on Zhenireth." He smiled as he set to oiling the large brown. "You know I never had the time to thank you for the distraction when we snuck off to see the eggs. So, thank you."
"Oh...that." He glanced down ruefully at his arm. "You know, I was trying to think of a distraction....but I really didn't mean to trip and fall like that. I think M'agalec knew exactly what we were up to...but you know, I get the feeling that maybe he expected us to try. I wonder if he would have been disappointed if we didn't. I think it's a tradition or something like that."
"Hey I'm finished with Lumyth, would you like a bit of help?" He smield as he watched his lifemate butt up against the bronze.
"Sure. Thanks, B'drin." Zhenireth leaned a bit against the bronze in a companionable way.
B'drin smiled as he set in helping. He had really come to like the boy. "My he has gotten quite big hasn't he?"
"Yeah. So has Lumyth, though. And they're just going to get bigger! Can you imagine having to do this when they are that big?" I'zar rubbed oil into the bronze hide. "I mean, I helped my parents with their dragons and stuff, but I never did it all by myself! I don't know how they managed."
"The same way we will when it comes down to it." He smiled as he looked at the two dragonttes.
"Yeah. I guess we will." I'zar grinned. "Come on, it's about time for breakfast."
