}:Lissath is coming,:{ Rogueth told his rider and Vilarth.

K'ran got up from behind his desk, straightened his clothes to make
sure there were no crumbs or klah stains on them, and then started
walking to the Weyrbowl. He was feeling full of nerves about Genna's
arrival at River Bluff. He didn't know how Lissath was going to feel
about this transfer, or how Genna herself felt. So he wasn't sure how
this first meeting was going to go.

As he arrived at the Weyrbowl to wait, he wondered how this was going
to go. He wanted to be K'ran, here to see his - friend, special
person, something more? - arriving at the Weyr. That would be an easy
interaction. But he was Weyrleader K'ran, here to see a new goldrider
transfer in. That was an entirely different matter, one far more
formal.

Well, he knew formality. He could take comfort in those rituals.
Greeting Genna properly as the Weyrleader. Passing her over to Lenala,
as the acting Weyrwoman, so that they could start working together.
This would go fine.

When Lissath broke out of between above River Bluff Weyr, Genna tried
to keep an open mind, like she was seeing it for the first time. It
was beautiful, that much was for sure. In a very different way than
Dragonsfall was beautiful, but beautiful nonetheless. She just wasn't
sure how she'd take to her new home's climate. She wasn't made for
heat.

}: I was, but I'm not sure about all these bronzes. They're staring at
me wrong, :{ Lissath commented as she began her slow descent.

Genna chuckled, realizing the staring was probably a bit lustful
already. It wouldn't be that long before she'd rise. But first thing's
first, she had to get settled in. When she spotted K'ran waiting, her
heart made a little jump for joy. Now there was the one reason she had
decided not to protest her transfer.

}:Lissath, welcome to River Bluff,:{ Rogueth said in his best
'official' tone, though he let some of the warmth he and his rider
were feeling leak through.

K'ran indulged himself in a little wave at Genna and Lissath, then put
his serious face on as they descended. By the time Genna dismounted,
he was ready to act like he was welcoming any other transfer.

"Goldrider Genna and Lissath, we welcome you to River Bluff," he said
formally.

Lenala had to hurry up to took her place at K'ran's side. She had
spent bit too much time with her hair. "Sorry, K'ran, I'm having a bad
hair day," she murmured quick apology. She smiled warmly while trying
to catch her breath. At least she knew Genna somewhat and based on the
times when they had chatted, she liked the young goldrider. They had
similar backgroud from Holds, so they should get a long well.

Vilarth wasn't as happy as her rider to see another gold arrive, so
her greeting had a bit of a challenge in it.
**Behave, she's here to help us while Rhosyn and Orlaith are stuck
elswhere.**

"It's more than fine," K'ran said to Lenala in an aside. He'd been
worried about his own appearance as well.

"Weyrleader K'ran, Weyrwoman Second Lenala," Genna said with an
expression that matched K'ran's formality. There was plenty of time
for a romantic reunion later. There were too many eyes on them here,
expecting them to be professional. "Thank you for this opportunity and
the hospitality of River Bluff. I hope Lissath and myself can do your
faith in us justice."

"You're warmly welcome to River Bluff Weyr. I'm excited to work with
you," Lenala said. Just because they were being formal didn't mean she
couldn't be friendly too.

"One of the goldrider weyrs has been freshly prepared for you and
there are drudges happy to help you move in. Once Lissath is settled
and free of the burdens, we can arrange for a Weyr tour. And I'd like
to have dinner with the both of you tonight, if that's all right?" he
asked.

"Could I bring A'kades to that diner too?" Lenala half-asked, half
suggested on a whim. That way she would be feeling like a third wheel.

K'ran was surprised at first. He had been thinking about it as a
working dinner, a chance to figure out how the two goldriders would
get along and how he'd work with them for the next few months. But
Lenala's idea reminded him it wouldn't hurt to have it be more of a
social event before it was time to work.

"I don't mind at all," he said with a smile.

"That sounds lovely," Genna replied, her smile becoming a little less
formal for a moment. "I look forward to working with the both of you."
That said, she felt the heat was already getting to her. When she'd
left she'd dressed as lightly as the Dragonsfall weather allowed, but
still that was no match for the temperatures here. Little pearls of
sweat were forming on her forehead.

Lenalan hadn't been thinking of working, she had been thinking of
socializing, getting to know Genna bit better before they got down to
the work part.
She didn't missed the sweat either. "Let's get you into the shade
before you get a heatstroke, it's more cool inside the cliff," she
pointed the openings behind her back.

"Yes, dealing with the heat may be your biggest first-day challenge,"
K'ran said. "We can show you to your weyr so Lissath can get
comfortable before anything else."

"And please tell Lissath to just ignore Vilarth," Lenala said with a
slight wince when her gold let out a loud bugle.

}: My Weyr! :{

**Hush, now, be nice to her. She's here to help us,** Lenala
reprimanded her lifemate. Vilarth snarled from the rim of the bluff
where she usually perched. She had perfect view over the river valley
that formed the weyrbowl.

"Let's head to your weyr," K'ran suggested. He knew Rogueth wouldn't
be able to calm Lenala's dragon down - even a bronze had little hope
against a frustrated gold - but maybe moving Lissath out of direct
sight would help.
