Description: Emergency responses.
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr, River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 12, day 20 of Turn 8
Notes: Takes place during the Tsunami.

Y'gel took a deep breath. ** Tell Briata what is happening** he
commanded knowing full well she would already know and be preparing.
**We will come for her and the children.** he added.

}:Mine is coming soon for you and the weyrlings:{

Briata gulped at the shear panic she heard in the dragon voices
around. Within moments Nisha was strapped to her chest and Brigel in
straps so she could carry too him if necessary. Luckily she was always
prepared with bags for both children so she went into the bedchamber
to throw some things into bags for herself and her Weyrmate.

Encumbered with the things she could gather she grabbed her son's hand
and began to climb the stairs out of their ground level Weyr just to
get higher up on the cliff face.

They got out just in time though the water swirled on the steps below
her and she sobbed in terror. Brigel began crying and Nisha wasn't far
behind in her distress.

Y'gel felt the feedback from his lifemate as he frantically tried to
get an injured brown to move out of the infirmary. Most of the injured
dragons had been able to /between/ to the relative safety of the top
of the Weyr.

"I can't.." he realized there was nothing more he could do and
scrambled to Aughashyth's back. The brown was unable to move and Aug
couldn't lift him.

}:Little cousin where is your person? Does she have the hatchlings?:{
Loseth asked Jewel. Hopefully the firelizard would be able to send a
clear image.

Pictures flashed from the little gold. **hatchlings crying and
clutching mother on side of bluff ** **frantic emotions** **Scream at
bad water**

The image wasn't clear enough for a jump /between/, but they'd been to
River Bluff enough times to recognize that area of the cliff face.
N'vanik pictured a distinctive spot nearby and in a moment the bronze
was above the raging water, he and his rider scanning for Briata and
the children. N'vanik's heart was in his throat. **Nisha**

**Loseth** Briata screamed in her mind. **Over here** She wave an arm.
**I have Nisha, tell yours I have her.**

The bronze was already moving. }:There!:{ he told his rider. Loseth
didn't like talking to other humans besides Talryne, even those who
could hear dragons, but this was an emergency. }:We see. We come.:{

The water was dangerously close to Briata and her small children.

Briata clutched the children to her. **Loseth is here** she sent to
Aughashyth. Her mind voice was filled with relief even as she dealt
with so much noise in her head she could hardly think.

Y'gel breathed a sigh of relief and turned his attention back to the
Weyrleader's injured lifemate.

Loseth made an awkward landing on a ledge that barely fit him. He
shifted around until he could get his neck lowered enough for his
rider to slide off. "Come on!" N'vanik hurried to help Briata.

Briata swung Brigel toward the Dolphin Cove Weyrleader. Then shoving
the straps of her bags over onto her back she hushed Nisha who was was
fussing in her carrier. "See," she smiled at the little girl. "Dada is
come for us everything will be alright.

She reached for the Bronze dragons straps and scrambled up his side.
"Thank you," she tried very hard not to cry with all the intensity
around her. "Thank you Loseth," She said as they all got on his back.

N'vanik made sure everyone was secured. "Shards, I'm glad you're safe.
You okay if I take you back to Dolphin Cove?" The lower part of River
Bluff was a mess of water and debris. They could spend a night or two,
longer if they needed until things were cleaned up.

"Yes," Briata didn't hesitate. The children came first and she knew
Y'gel would understand and come for them when he could. **Aug tell
yours Loseth is taking us to Dolphin Cove.**

}:He says to thank Loseths, we will come when we can.:{

"Y'gel will come later," she faithfully repeated.

"Okay." N'vanik patted Loseth and the bronze leapt into the sky. The
water swirled below them but Nisha was safe. Her foster brother and
foster mother were safe. The tightness in N'vanik's chest eased as
they climbed high enough to jump /between/.
