"Did you hear my sister's friend asked her to Weyrmate?" Pierka rolled
away from Z'ku and padded across the room for a glass of water
swinging her naked bottom for his benefit. They'd had a nice dinner
without their son and then moved on to a relaxing and pleasurable
intimacy.

Z'ku leaned up on his elbow to get a better view. Shards, he was a
lucky man. "Oh?" He was about to comment that Lanniya was a bit young
for that, but then he remembered he and Pierka hadn't been much older
when they weyrmated. "That's wonderful."

"He's good for her I think," she turned back, "Would you like some water?"

"Yes, thanks. He's a brownrider, right?" He remembered Lanniya talking
about seeing a rider from another Weyr.

She poured a cup for him and brought it with her as she came back.
"Yeah," she smiled. "And he's caught gold before. Did you know that?"

He sipped at the water thoughtfully. "Was he the one that caught soon
out of weyrlinghood and had the small clutch?"

"Yeah," she nodded. "But the gold wasn't immature so she must have
seen something in him. Am I right? What do you think?"

**Or the goldrider liked the brownrider.** But Z'ku kept that to
himself. "What's important is that Lanniya sees something in him." He
was going to keep an eye on the brownrider _just_ in case.

"Yeah," she sat on the side of the bed with a small smile. "I'm happy
for her." She smoothed some hair out of his eyes. "So I've been
thinking that Kazom seems to miss the other kids when he stays with
us. Do you think he needs a sibling?"

Z'ku's heart beat faster. "Are you... Do you mean another baby?"

She looked a tiny bit shy on the subject. It had taken most of her
courage to even bring up the subject. "Well, I would like one if _you_
want one."

"Are you pregnant?" She was on the teas but that didn't always work.
"I'd love to keep it, of course." To him, that was no question at all.

"No, no," she shook her head strongly, "I'd never do that without
talking to you first and making sure I went off the teas _after_
Liddith rose." She didn't want a random flight baby just for the sake
of a baby. "I want _your_ baby." She leaned against him and wiggled.

"Oh." His eyes lit up and a smile spread across his face. "I would
love to have another baby with you." He laughed self-consciously. "I
forget that Kazom isn't mine by blood. Let me rephrase that." Z'ku
cupped Pierka's face. "I would love to have a baby with you. To make
our family bigger." Then he kissed her.

She grinned and leaned whole heartedly into the kiss. "Alright then,"
she said when she could get a breath. "I'll stop the teas after
Liddith's next flight. But we can practice as much as you like."

He chuckled, "Practice. Is that what we're calling it now?" Z'ku
pulled her down with him onto the bed, brushing his fingers along her
body.

She shivered at the light touch and smiled into his eyes. "Would you
rather we called it drills?" She moved her pelvis very suggestively.

He laughed, then his expression softened again. "How about 'making
love to my weyrmate'?" Z'ku didn't know how he'd gotten so lucky. She
was the most wonderful, perfect woman. He'd spent so much time and
energy chasing after Meledei, first because she was a goldrider and
he'd wanted to use her as a stepping stone for more prestige, then
because he was genuinely attracted to her. When she'd chosen someone
else he'd been miserable, but he and Pierka had found each other
because of that. Now he couldn't imagine choosing a goldrider, any
goldrider, over Pierka.

She saw his face change and her own smile softened to match. "Yes,"
she said simply and then began to show him the depth her own feelings.
