Description: Why we need a place to come home to
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 13, day 3 of Turn 8
It was late, so late, much later than W'ser had told Sasima he would
be home. There had been so many injured dragons to care for with the
latest additions from River Bluff, that his night had seemed to be
never ending. It had been Branth who had finally told him he was too
tired to continue, and W'ser had agreed. If he kept going in this
state, he would end up making a mistake that could harm one of their
patients.
The weyr he shared with Sasima was dark, so he tried to creep quietly
through to change out of his work clothes, so as not to wake his
sleeping weyrmate.
"Hey, she said as she turned a glow by the bed. "You're awfully late."
"Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you." W'ser crossed over and pressed a
kiss to her forehead.
"It's not me I'm worried about, silly." She slapped lightly at his arm.
He smiled a little, "I'm fine. It was just a long night in the
infirmary." W'ser spoke while unbuttoning his shirt and walking to his
side of the bed.
She turned over and watched him as he undressed. He had fine muscle
tone like all dragonriders. After all it wasn't really possible to be
a lazy dragonrider. Their lifemates were far too demanding for that
kind of behavior. She reached over and pulled back the covers to
reveal her nakedness with a smile. "I've been waiting for you."
}:Aren't you glad I made you go home?:{ Branth said slyly.
It was times like these that W'ser had a hard time remembering why he
had been so against weyrmating.
"Then I have very sorry to have kept you waiting." W'ser toed off his
boots and flicked open the buckle of his belt.
She just gave him a throaty chuckle. "I do like it when you strip for
me." She realized she might have to pay for that comment but it was a
delightful way to pay.
A warm chuckle rumbled through W'ser's chest as his pants joined his
boots in the floor. "Perhaps I need to come on late more often then."
He said, joining Sasima on the bed and bringing her face to his for a
kiss.
"Or at least while I'm still awake," she smiled after their kiss
broke. "But feel free to wake me up if I'm asleep and you want to..."
Her eyes crinkled and she wrapped a leg around his waist.
"You may find yourself losing sleep, then." W'ser growled against her
throat, hands that were moments ago mending dragons now sliding over
Sasima's soft curves.
She sighed, then shivered, then moaned. "Sleep is overrated," she groaned.
It was, W'ser agreed, because right now, even though he'd been hours
without sleep, his body felt alive.
Sasima looked into his eyes knowing that she'd lit a fire, but also
knowing that fire was hers. She who'd been left unwanted at a gather.
Who'd drifted through so many places had found a real home and a place
here. Her home was W'ser. "I love you," she said simply.
"I love you, too." W'ser said, tenderly stroking Sasima's hair away
from her face.
