Scrub-a-Dub-Dub

Writers: April, Sunrose
Date Posted: 27th March 2006

Characters: Illiana, Nocte
Description: Illiana helps Nocte bathe Quylith
Location: River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 10, day 7 of Turn 3

Illiana went out to the Weyrbowl first thing, just like Nocte and herself had discussed the day before, she scanned the bowl with her eyes and spotted a greenrider pair over by the lake. The candidate was sure that she dressed in clothes that she didn't mind getting wet, her hair was up in a messy bun for now just to get it out of her face, she checked it as she walked towards the lake.

Nocte glanced up and waved. She smiled as she watched the girl come closer. Quylith was ready to be bathed. "Hello, Illiana."

"Hello Nocte, Quylith" She dipped her head to the pair. "I can hardly wait to get started. What do I do first?"

"Well first find a sponge put a bit of soap on it and find a place to scrub." Nocte showed her by demonstration. She set in on Quylith's back. Course, she had to climb to get up there. The young green had gotten in the water as soon as she had seen the other girl coming. "A circular motion works best I've found."

Illina happily made her way out into the water, sponge in hand. "So like this?" She asked as she started on the greens side. She was grinning ear to ear, she couldn't believe she was actually doing this, it had always been some far fetched dream of hers as a child.

}: It tickles:{ the green leaned toward the girl a bit.

"She says you may scrub harder. You are tickling her. When they get this size their skin is a bit tougher from all that going /between/." Nocte smiled as she moved up a bit more.

"Oh okay." Illiana said as she put some elbow grease into it. "How is that?" She asked the green looking for a nod of approval.

The green turned to look at her and gave a rumble of pleasure. She nodded and leaned more toward her. She was enjoying it a lot. She moved her tail splashing the girl a bit.

Illiana giggled like a small child at the greens antics. "Oh I do hope I Impress such a nice dragon as your Quylith." Illiana said as she move onto the dragons legs.

"Careful, or you'll make her head grow. She already thinks she is the grandest green there ever was. Wait, or is that me that thinks that way?" She chuckled at her joke. "Though I think every rider thinks their dragon is the best one of all."

"Just one of those things huh?" Illiana said as she continued to bathe the dragon, at this point she was absolutely soaked, but that didn't bother her any, she was enjoying this far too much to even notice really.

"Just wait. You'll think the same way when you look at your own dainty green. You'll love her all the more when you are covered in gore from her meals, soaked, and covered in oil. I know I did." She moved over to start in on a wing. "Of course every dragon has a unique personality al their own. Most greens tend to be on the gossipy side."

"Oh dear, gossipy, that could be interesting." Illiana said chuckling to herself.

"Oh it is. The things they find to discuss is beyond me." She giggled, for at that moment Quylith had found another green to gossip and talk to.

"Are their memories as bad as I've heard people say they are?" Illiana wondered as she moved onto another part of Quylith.

"Yes." She said simply. "Quylith knows every dragon in the weyr, practically. But, don't ask her to name their riders."

The pair continued to wash the green and chit chat back and forth until the task was done. Quylith left them to rinse and Illiana turned towards Nocte, her face aglow. "Thank-you so much for that!"

"Not a problem. Quylith likes to let people help. Plus it gives you an idea for what you are up against when you impress." Nocte smiled. She always loved the look on the faces of those that got to help for the first time.

The pair talked for a bit more before Quylith came up and soaked them as a bit of fun. Then it was off to find dry cloths, because trying to have a water fight with a dragon was a very bad idea.
