Torerath spiraled into the Weyrbowl at Dolphin Cove and behind him sat
his beautiful weyrmate and in her arms was their son. D'ale had told
her about the daughter he'd never known he had and they'd decided to
surprise her with a family picnic.

On their wing was K'ale and in front of him was D'ale's other daughter
Dalora. All of seven turns she was a handful in her own right but she
loved to ride dragons and couldn't seem to sit still.

"Mama," she screamed and waved at Yanley like she didn't already know
she was there.

Yanley waved at her. She was slightly nervous to meet D'ale's surprise
daughter. She hoped the girl was going to like her. She had no
problems accepting any child of D'ale's who was older than their
weyrmating but she wasn't so sure how she would react if D'ale told
her he's gotten someone else pregnant.

K'ale chuckled as they followed their Da down into the weyrbowl. "Sit
still," he admonished Dalora. Then he smiled to himself thinking about
the future when he'd be saying the same to his own child. He looked
around as they landed and Dalora began to wiggle again impatient to be
down on the ground.

"K'ale you're squeezing me," she complained in her high voice.

"Sorry," he said easing up and beginning to unbuckle when he spotted
their new sister. "There she is," he waved grinning.

Aviday had been waiting in the weyrbowl for over half a candlemark,
pacing excitement. When the two browns appeared in the sky, she
immediately recognized them and began jumping up and down, waving her
arms wildly, a wide smile on her face. She saw new faces, gasped and
began to squeal with delight. She had only thought D'ale and K'ale
were coming, but the others, they must be her siblings and D'ale's
Weyrmate!

}: You're being loud! :{ Kobeth ducked her head, but the excitement
she felt from her rider was infectious and she began to wiggle in
anticipation.

"I'm excited! They all came!"

When Yanley spotted the girl jumping up and down in the ground, she
knew that instant she was going to like her.

K'ale let Dalora go and she ran to the girl and then around her in
laps. "Are you my sister?" she asked and jumped up and down then ran
around the green weyrling, "Hi" she said "You're very pretty."

"Hi!" Aviday's smile seemed to take up the entirety of her face.
"Really? You think so?" She offered a hug to the young girl as Kobeth
approached with happily whirling eyes, but held back as the other
people approached. The green was also excited, but didn't quite
understand the situation.

Yanley had also gotten dismounted. She kept tight hold of Daley's
hand, since the little boy was more likely to run off to explore. He
was not overly interested in new additions to his family. Instead he
was looking around eagerly, since he never been in another Weyr
before. He spotted the sea. "Swim?" he tugged his mother's hem.

"Not right now, hatchling," Yanley replied. The boy started to sulk
and turned appealing eyes to his father.

"Another time buddy," D'ale winked. "Listen to your momma. Today we're
here for another reason." He smiled and pressed Yanley's fingers with
his own. "You know she's right." Then he approached Aviday and gave
her a quick hug. "Aviday, this is my Weyrmate, Lady Yanley and our
son, your brother, Daley."

Dalora hugged Aviday but looked at her brother and took in his pout
shaking her head. "He's a boy," she said as if that explained
everything wrong with the two turn youngster.

"It's such a pleasure to meet you finally, Aviday. Welcome to the
family," Yanley greeted the girl warmly. Her two firelizards appeared
and landed on her shoulders, regarding the weyrling curiously. "What
do you say, Daley?" she prompted her son.

"Nicetomeetyou," the boy mumbled.

Aviday hugged her father back tightly, her face glowing with a
delighted almost awed happiness. From having only her mother, suddenly
she was surrounded by family. Family that looked like a _real_
family...one she'd always wished for. "It's so great to meet all of
you." Her voices was rushed as her eyes flicked back and forth between
everyone, a sheen of moisture in them as she took them in. It was much
better than anything she'd ever dreamed of!

Kobeth was not to be ignored. She stepped forward with a croon, eyes
whirling with happy interest. She remembered K'ale and D'ale from
Aviday's memories, but the smaller people were new to her. She shoved
her head into the mixture of people, demanding attention.

Aviday giggled and quickly swiped a hand at her eyes. "She wants scratches."

Daley was more than happy to comply. "Dwagon!" he called and slipped
away from his mother. Not only that, they weyrling green was easier
for him to reach than his father's brown. The boy was happy to scartch
her ridges.

K'ale strode up with the large basket Yanley had prepared and grinned
at the picture. How his family had grown and it was going to get even
larger with the baby coming. He'd grown up with only one sister and
now he had two more _and_ a brother. "Hey," he smiled at the others.
"We thought we'd have a picnic on the beach."

"Yay," Dalora jumped up and down then she picked her brother up and
sat him on the little green's neck ridge. "Look, He's a dragonrider,
on the beautiful green dragon"

"Hey!" D'ale took one giant step toward the little green. "I'm sorry
Kobeth," he said gravely, "She didn't ask."

"Delora, what have we been talking about manners?" Yanley said
scoldingly, throwing a concerned glance towards the weyrling green and
the children.

The moment that the boy was placed on her neckridge, Kobeth went
utterly still, eyes whirling with confusion. Even her rider hadn't
been seated on her yet, so the sensation felt a bit wrong to the
little green. }: Mine? :{

Aviday winced and hurried over, moving carefully to pick Daley up off
of Kobeth. "I'm sorry, but she's not ready for that yet. If you
scratch her, she'll like that much better." She was careful as she put
him down, looking up at D'ale and Yanley with hesitation. "Uhm...I
guess they got excited?"

"Yes, overly excited," Yanley replied. She gave the children a
reprimanding look. "They've both weyrbrats who should better. She's
still a baby dragon," she let disappointement colour her voice. She
had found out that children often responed better to her tone of voice
than the actual words.

Daley's lips started to tremble threateningly. "Sowwy, dwagon," he said.

}: The young one is impulsive and puts her brother on me all the
time.:{ Torerath rumbled a comforting and calming thought at the
little green.

D'ale caught the thought and sank down in front of the green reaching
out to stroke her eyeridges. "I'm very sorry Kobeth," he said as he
caressed her. Yanley had already taken Dalora to task so he didn't
need to.

Dalora of course had heard 'that' tone in Yanley's voice and felt
instant remorse. "I'm sorry," she apologized to everyone and then
darted back to Yanley to cling to her skirts. "I'm sorry mommy," she
said and felt the tears welling up.

The moment she saw Dalora's eyes well up, Aviday hurried forward,
offering her hand. "It's okay. It was only a little mistake and you
didn't hurt anything. Look, when your mama says it's okay, we can play
in the water with Kobeth, okay? She likes to splash and the water here
is always warm." She looked at D'ale, her lip sucked into her mouth as
she gnawed on it nervously. She desperately wanted her new siblings to
like her. "Is that okay?"

}: I think I understand.:{ Kobeth calmed under both Aviday's and
Torerath's comfort, perking up to nudge D'ale, then offered her slim
muzzle to Daley. With a gentle nudge, she presented her eye ridge.

"She's still a baby dragon, Dalora, think a bit before you act next
time. It's alright," Yanley replied to her step daughter. "It's like
Daley is not going to able to carry you in his back, while you can
carry him, at least for short time."

Daley had already forgotten it, he was busy giving the dragon a scritch.

Yanley smiled at Aviday, yes, she really liked this girl. "You can
play in water a bit later. Let's get to know each other first. And I
believe there's something good in that basket K'ale's holding."

Dalora just nodded and continued to clutch Yanley's skirts

"Then let's find a place for all this spread shall we?" D'ale grinned
at the rest of the party and lifted Yanley's hand to his lips.
"There's a place just down the coast a little bit of a walk."
