"You can't stay in your own weyr until I am assured that you can get up and take your ownself to the privy. Now, let's see it," the healer insisted, giving Riveenata a nod. She knew that the young woman knew this, being a healer herself, but sometimes healers made the worst patients.

C'rin smothered a grin with his hand, since he had been ordered by Meysa to stand back and not assist Riveenata.

"All right," she told Meysa, standing up as best she could using just her legs and keeping her torso stiff, then taking slow careful steps towards the little privy room.

Last night, she thought she'd been able to do it on her own, and she'd made it to the privy and onto the pot, only to not be able to push herself back up and open the door. She hadn't realized how much a _chest_ injury made everything else harder, even using the bathroom. As she finished using it and struggled to get up, she hoped she wouldn't wind up needing to call for aid and stick herself with _another_ day in here.

}:You have this,:{ Savith urged supportively.

It took a few minutes, possibly long enough to worry the others, but Riveenata emerged and shuffled back out slowly, giving them a smile as she made it back. "There."

Meysa and C'rin had the same reaction, both clapping their hands, while the brownrider smiled. "You did it! That means she can go home, right?"

"That's right," the healer made some notations on her chart. "You are free to return back to your weyr. We'll be checking in on you to see how recovery is going."

"I understand," Riveenata said. "I know to call for help if there's the usual bad signs of infection."

"And I'll be there to help if you need it," C'rin said.

Meysa nodded. "That's good, we prefer patients who have had such injuries to have a good support system in place for when they go home."

Riveenata gave C'rin a little grin. "You're a support system. Hear that? A nice, responsible adult."

The brownrider stood a little taller and adjusted his collar. "You will have the finest the harper hall has to offer attending to your every need." C'rin winked and then turned to Meysa. "So we're free to go?"

"Go on with you," Meya waved her hands.

C'rin smiled and picked up some of the items that Riveenata had collected during her stay at the infirmary.

"You want to settle on the couch or the bed?" C'rin asked as he helped Riveenata into her weyr.

It had taken them almost a candlemark to walk up to her weyr. Even though she had one of the high up ones that were dragonback-preferred because they took so long to walk to, it almost never actually took that long to walk to one. She had to keep stopping to lean against the wall - or C'rin - to rest. By the time she got there, her skin was abnormally pale and she was clammy.

"Bed, or else I'm going to be on the couch forever once you leave," she said.

"I can stay," he offered as he helped her to her bed. Fluffing the pillows up, he helped her lay down and prop herself against them. "Do you want some klah, water, or juice?" C'rin noticed that her pallor looked off and he worried that she might have overdone it.

"Juice, the idea of klah makes me nauseated," she said, settling into the pillows and finding her eyes drifting closed already. "If you can just set it on the nightstand..."

There was a scraping noise at the outside ledge as Savith landed and then turned around and then tried to stick her muzzle into the weyr from the couch (which obviously didn't work). The green reached out to Dasveth. }:My rider is drifting again, have yours make sure she is all right.:{

C'rin sat down on the edge of Riveeanta's bed and put a hand to her cheek, his other holding the cup of juice. "Riv? Do I need to get a healer?" he asked.

"No, I'm just tired. Do you know how much you use your chest for?" she murmured. "It doesn't seem fair, it just hit there, it's not like it should be taking it out of the rest of me to do things like walk..."

The brownrider winced in sympathy, wishing it were him instead of her lying there. "Why don't you just rest then? I'll be here if you wake up and need something."

"Are you okay staying here? Dunwanna put... you n Dasveth out..." Her eyes were already closing as she was going to sleep.

C'rin peeked under the blanket at her bandage to make sure that it wasn't leaking and then tucked the blanket more snugly around her. She was out of the woods now, at least, but still had a long road of recovery ahead of her. **I'll be here for you every step of the way,** he thought.
