T'lin

Nalarith landed in the Weyrbowl and tilted her head up, bugling her
lust for all to hear. Her glowing hide caught the sun as she turned to
watch the males begin to gather around her.

The familiar mix of desire and dread filled A'dryn's stomach as he
hurried out to the flight cots. He had a fleeting thought that he
hoped it was A'kades again this time. As awkward as it was, at least
his mentor was familiar.

}:I will catch you, lovely Nalarith,:{ Xemroth said, flying over to
land in an advantageous position above the green.

}:Nalarith rises! I want her!:{ Calaroth announced with a bugle of his own.

T'lin blinked, trying to push back the surge of lust. **Good luck!**
He set his pen aside and got to his feet. He couldn't really be mad at
his dragon, but he was a little annoyed Cal was chasing now, just as
he'd found a bit of time to work on a project.

}:Nalarith rises,:{ Rymeth told V'rel. He had been at the feeding pens
anyway for his meal and seeing a glowing green made him hungry for
something that was not food.

V'rel started heading to the flight cots. **A'dryn, huh?** He hoped it
wouldn't make things awkward if he caught. At least they weren't
wingmates. But when the River Bluff folks had begun to arrive at
Dolphin Cove, his father had asked him to look out for his favorites,
and that had included the greenrider. They'd begun to develop a good
friendship, and V'rel was still learning how flights could affect
that. When he'd not been Impressed, sometimes sex was just fun, and
sometimes it was the foundation of a relationship, or part of one, and
made things complicated. Look how awkward things were with Ashelia
after they'd broke up. So with A'dryn, who he just liked being
around...

Well, maybe he'd lose and get to celebrate with T'lin, he thought as
he recognized Calaroth joining the fray.

There were no such complicated thoughts in the mind of another
bronzerider who had a chasing dragon. Thadath, who had hatched at
River Bluff and knew Nalarith, bugled his desire and lust for the
green. R'kehr knew his bronze would chase male-ridden greens and that
was fine. A'dryn was nice. Thadath had not caught in months. It would
work out or it wouldn't.

A'dryn bit his lip as he watched the male dragons and their riders
arrive. A few bronzes, of course. A brown. Their riders would have no
interest in him when their dragons weren't involved. A'dryn took a
deep breath. He'd been through this before. It would all be over soon
and then he could get back to the rest of his life.

Instinct filled Nalarith and with another cry she sprang into the air.
Swift wings carried her far and fast, away from the males. }:Come and
catch me!:{

Calaroth was after her in a flash, though he'd learned by now not to
use up all his energy right away. }:Nalarith, you shine so brightly!
Beautiful one, let me catch you and show you how well we will fly!:{

In the moment before he lost himself to Calaroth, T'lin reached a hand
out to V'rel.

His size gave him a disadvantage with greens, but Xemroth had caught
several before. }:You will be mine!:{

V'rel brushed his hands against T'lin's offered one, thinking he would
be lucky regardless of how the flight turned out. Then he was lost to
Rymeth's needs.

More dragons leapt into the sky chasing the beautiful green. Thadath
was one of the first off the ground, while Rymeth was a few wingbeats
behind because he'd been distracted. The beginning of the pack was
always a hard part as the males had to get out of each other's way.

}:Beautiful Nalarith!:{ crooned Thadath, who'd made his way to the
front of the pack. }:Let me fly you well.:{

Rymeth tried to get out the middle of dragons, then brown Ercanath got
in the way, and he dodged past him, only to find himself too near to
Calaroth, whose flying patterns he knew. To deal with it, he folded
his wings and dropped down like he was giving up, falling out the
bottom of the pack. Once he was free, he flew lower in altitude than
Nalarith _or_ her chasers, looking up to track her. It was a risky
strategy but he knew others dropped down from the sky, or surged
forward, to catch her. Perhaps if he could fly _up_ in front of her,
she wouldn't see him.

Calaroth shifted to follow one of Nalarith's turns and barely avoided
one of the bronzes. It caused confusion in the pack behind him, making
two males drop out of the chase, but Calaroth made it just a bit
closer to the tantalizing green.

Xemroth wasn't so lucky. Dodging the near-collision, he made it out
but found himself further back next to an older blue. He grumbled his
frustration and used a burst of energy to try to make up ground--or
air, rather.

Far ahead of them all, Nalarith danced in the sky, delighting in all
the attention. }:Show me how much you want me!:{

Rymeth missed the chaos because of his tactic of being low. He saw the
pack get thinned out and the green shift, and he went and surged
upwards into some clouds to hide himself, gambling that he could sneak
up on Nalarith. }:Nalarith, you are clever at getting rid of us, but I
will follow you all day.:{

Nalarith made another quick turn, then darted upwards, then flipped
around to dive through her pursuers. Calaroth reached for her and
missed. The green looked back with amusement at the chaos she'd
caused, three other males giving up the chase. She climbed again,
wings carrying her higher and higher.

As she felt the first hint of weariness, she glanced at the remaining
males. Time to make her choice. Xemroth? He was young and strong and
had acted as Wingsecond. Or maybe--

Suddenly talons gripped her and a strong body pressed against her own.

Rymeth saw Nalarith drop low and dive through the males. Nalarith was
a wily green, she would not be caught low - thus why her dive had
surprised the males - so he gambled it all and made his move, surging
upwards to chase her. She turned to look at other males and he passed
through a cloud, waiting, and then leapt towards her, talons
outstretched, to pull the green against him as she passed by and
twined his tail with hers.

On the ground, V'rel reached for A'dryn, pulling the other man against
him and capturing his mouth in a heated kiss.

A _blue_? Nalarith had wanted a bronze! But as they fell she
surrendered herself to Rymeth and found it was no disappointment at
all.
