Description: Reyela's green Brandith rises.
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 2, day 20 of Turn 12
**Finally.* Reyela sighed with relief as Brandith finally stirred on her ledge. The green dragon stretched and smacked her teeth together, her mottled hide aglow in the late afternoon sun. Brandith had slept through afternoon drills and conveniently woken once the dragons were freed from their straps for the evening.
And Reyela was ready. _More_ than ready. She'd been itchy and wild in her skin for days. Concentrating on drills or her work in the Dragon Infirmary had been torturous. She could still count the number of times Brandith had risen on the fingers of one hand, so this still felt novel and fun.
The greenrider brushed an affectionate hand across her dragon's snout before heading into her weyr to brush her hair and pull on a loose dress. She headed for the flight cots with a spring in her step as Brandith finally took to the skies with a shriek to announce her intentions.
R'fayne had just exited the training yard out of breath and in desperate need of water. But the thought of sinking into a bathing pool and never emerging never had the chance to take root, banished instead by an unusually strong urge stopping him dead in his tracks. His attention instinctively flew upward to the glowing form of Brandith, her shriek matched by a deep roar from his own dragon, one that reverberated all the way down through his chest as he panted. He reveled in goldlust as much as the next Weyrbred, and hadn't been particularly worried about greenflights even after R'lor's lecture, not for himself anyway, making his query of **Now?** more curious than disbelieving, or nervous, or objecting.
And like a gong, the answer echoed through R'fayne's mind, }: Now. :{
But Skadith hadn't chased before. He was pretty sure Skadith hadn't even _flirted_ with any females before. He wasn't even sure the blue knew how. But none of that seemed to matter anymore. This brand of _interest_ wasn't one they had shared together before. This was something burning hot in their blood, pulling R'fayne toward the flight cots as the young blue shot after the mottled green now in full command of the sky.
This time, B'nell dropped the books he was carrying. **What are you _doing_?** he thought in a panic to a roaring Vorath.
}: Getting us laid. :{
B'nell gulped. Had it really been so long? What about his meetings? What if...Vorath won? "Oh, this....this isn't how I wanted to spend today," the bespectacled brownrider whined even as he headed towards the flight weyrs.
Z'ku had been heading to pick up the kids when dragonlust seared through him. His sound of frustration merged with Xemroth's roar of intent.
}:Brandith will be mine!:{
**She's in our Wing!**
}:Which means I know well how she flies.:{
With a sigh, Z'ku turned and hurried toward the flight cots.
Reyela's heart leapt when she realized that Xemroth had joined in Brandith's flight. **Oh please, oh please,** she thought, already imagining Z'ku's hands on her body and his lips on hers. She'd been dreaming about this moment ever since she'd been assigned to Rapids Wing. Finally she had a chance at him!
}:NO! _I_ will choose!:{ Brandith snarled back. Her strong wings cracked through the air as she banked suddenly and rolled sideways just out of Vorath's grasp. This was _her_ time, and she would make these bold, beautiful dragons in her wake work for the right to claim her! Her eyes were bright with lust and delight as she started heading skyward.
On the ground, Reyela felt a momentary surge of relief that Brandith wasn't a gold and she didn't have to do anything other than submit. This was fun. This was pleasure, the caress of air on their wings as their minds melted into each other. She breathed in time with her dragon and delighted in the sweept of the weyr beneath her and the arc of the sun above.
Skadith's flying was confident and crisp, but his inexperience showed anytime Brandith got spontaneous. Twice he clumsily dodged out of the way of the larger chasers as they funneled her through the air, and twice that cost him distance and speed to recover. But he was not easily swayed. R'fayne had finally let go and together they were magnetized to this green. She was bright and joyous, and every close swoop and near-miss drove his dragonlust to new heights.
Xemroth shook off his rider's reluctance and soared after the green. }:I am the best and strongest. I will claim you Brandith.:{
If B'nell was awkward and bumbling, Vorath was not. The sky was his domain and even though his brown bulk didn't lend him the same agility as the smaller dragons, he had power were it counted. He plowed towards the front of the pack using his strong wings. }: Choose me, :{ he crooned at Brandith.
Brandith darted toward the cliffs, then quick as a sunbeam turned in the air to dodge Vorath's outstretched claws reaching for hers-- and flew straight into Xemroth. Her squawk of surprise was quickly stifled as she wrapped her neck around the brown dragon's and they fell from the sky entwined, even as Reyela reached blindly for Z'ku, her heart as triumphant as her dragon's at the bronze's win. As Xemroth claimed his prize, Z'ku crushed his mouth to Reyela's. All hesitation was gone as he surrendered to dragonlust.
