H'run

H'run

It was barely past dawn when a strange dragon reached out to Aphirith to request a meeting between their riders, and it wasn't much after that when a dark-haired, dishevelled man in bluerider's knots threw open the door to E'tariax's office. He staggered in and collapsed onto E'tariax's chair, leaving a trail of sand behind himself. Dark circles ringed his red-rimmed eyes. "Last night was utterly _horrid_. Whoever thinks sleeping on the beach is romantic should be staked out for Thread."

E'tariax had the klah ready and slid a hot mug across his desk to H'run. He glanced down at the scattered sand leading into his office and presumably down the hall, trying not to look even a little amused. "From my experience, the romantic part is what one does _before_ sleeping." He said dryly, "The regret afterwards is universal. Did you get much sleep? It's the middle of the night in Dragonsfall."

"I did not sleep a wink." H'run reached greedily for the klah. "I shall get right to the point to spare us both. I am in distress and I need you to write a note to my Wingleader to tell him that I will not be returning to Dragonsfall Weyr for the foreseeable future."

E'tariax paused, taking the time to drink his own klah. "You look it." He said after a moment, "Talk it out with me. What happened? Is this with the intention for a full transfer, or a temporary leave to Dolphin Cove?"

"Oh, I don't know." H'run stared off into the distance as he thought. He'd run to Dolphin Cove simply because he couldn't bear being at Dragonsfall any longer, but a permanent move would involve so much _work_. Packing was a miserable activity. He'd never have to see K'mai again. But then he'd never get to see K'mai again. He sighed. "I suppose it's just temporary... I think."

"All right. But I will require you to meet with me regularly- or another mindhealer here, if I'm not to your liking. I can write a referral to any other mindhealer as well, if you have any in mind." E'tariax said as he reached for a blank page and a pen. "I expect since you're seeing me you can still physically fly Threadfall?"

H'run stared into his mug. The silence dragged. "Do you know, I wasn't sure that we were going to make it out from /between/ on the way here. Calcifeth..." The bluerider cleared his throat, then managed a shaky smile. "It's shameful, really. My mind wandered to... things it shouldn't, when I was envisioning the Star Stones here. I don't... trust myself right now. To focus."

"We'll start with the Queen's Wing, then, and Aphirith can send along coordinates when we /between/." E'tariax said, "Can you make it home and back again to move your things? I can request one of our youngsters to accompany you."

"I don't need to go back," H'run said, gesturing at the small bag and gitar sitting at his feet. He wanted to lay on a beach and sleep for days, not fly in a strange Wing and be forced to perform for treats like a bloody canine. The thought was exhausting. Everything was exhausting.

E'tariax eyed the bag and said nothing about it. "There's a few vacant guest weyrs right now; take your pick and I'll let Cyradis know. Get a full night's- or day, at this rate- sleep, and we'll talk again once you're rested and can think clearly."

H'run hesitated. "Where... do I find the guest weyrs?"

"I'll take you." E'tariax said as he rose and reached for his cane, "Take your mug, and your bag. Normally I'm more of a gentleman, but it's too early for my blasted leg. Will a ground weyr suffice?"

"I am grateful for a bed," the bluerider admitted. He stood as well. "Thank you for taking me in, Mindhealer."

"That's what I'm here for." E'tariax said. "Follow me."
