**You can't want to go outside now?** Hanni queried of her green.
The dragon had been sleeping, and was now awake and demanding to go out and show off.
**You're not...** the rest of the statement was left unsaid as the green gave a scream that could only be interpreted as 'Come chase me if you want me'. She lauched herself off her ledge, leaving her rider to rapidly make her way down to the flight rooms, hoping that it would be a good flight.
E'dian jumped back as Shandarath twisted his head sharply around at the sound of the scream, the oil he'd been using on the bronze hide splashing all over his tunic. "Shards, Shan! What now?"
}: Samdrath rises...:{ The bronze said, already bending his leg for his rider to climb onto his back. }:Come on.:{
**But Shan...I don't...** E'dian protested. Still ill at ease with the thought of flights after...after all that had happened at Far Island...
}: Come. I will chase. It will be alright.:{ E'dian knew, then, that he wasn't about to win this argument, he put a clean shirt after pulling the oil-stained one off, and let Shandarath take him down to the flight rooms.
**Who is it this time?** U'kaiah asked as he peaked out of his ledge at the cold grey skies.
}:Samdrath... I've had her before. I will have her again.:{ Came his bronze's determined answer.
Hanni... A smile crept across U'kaiah's face. **Sounds like a nice idea to me. Let's go!**
}: Samdrath rises! :{ Xalanyth sang in his mind. }: I'm chasing! :{
**Oh, are you now?** Ga'vin asked, putting down his harp. It sounded like his practice hour would be delayed, although hopefully it would be a pleasant distraction.
}: Her rider is Hanni. The blond one in the Weyrleader's Wing. :{ Xal informed him in that superior way he had. Ga'vin smiled. It might be a pleasant distraction after all.
Loseth turned at the sound of the scream. }:It is Samdrath. I will catch her!:{ "Samdrath, huh?" N'vanik said with a slight smile. He crossed the weyr and hopped on the impatient bronze.
The green spared a glance for the pack nicely building behind her.
Bronze, possibly brown and definitely blue, they would inspire her today. She bugled to them, before catching a thermal and climbing higher. It was as though she was daring them to catch her, daring them to follow.
Xalanyth called back, catching the same thermal, staying with her every move as best he could. He was agile enough to do that, and, when he deemed the moment right, he started to show of a little with some of his acrobatics- a quick dip of wing that sent him spiraling closer to the green, then away again- mindful of the others that flew nearby, though. He was being daring, not entirely reckless.
Always conservative, Shandarath flew above the group, holding himself back, waiting, waiting for the small opportunities to gain on the green. He took his time, conserving his resources until the timing was right. Surely, there would be a moment when he could sweep down and catch her.
With a few strong wingbeats, Loseth moved up just behind the leaders. He could keep up this pace for quite a while if he needed to, or dart ahead to claim the green when the chance arose.
Kalamath also was biding his time. Even though he had caught Samdrath in her virgin flight, he knew that there was no guarentee she would let him fly her again. He watched the other dragons around him, vying for the best position possible for when the time was right...
Samdrath spared another glance at the chasers. The blue, no not for today, so that just left the bronze dragons. Kalamath she knew already, but the two others. It would be one of them, but which one?
And there was his chance. Loseth moved forward, slipping past the lead dragon and closing the distance between himself and the green. }:Mine!:{ he roared.
There was no choice with that cry. Samdrath bugled a response as her choice was made.
