Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 13, day 8 of Turn 3

X'amor had always, like everyone else in the Weyr, made trips down to
the beach, but he wasn't one of the many who got in the water. He
could swim well enough but it was the rolling waves and strong
currents that made him cautious of the sea. Of course he would never
tell any one though. On this day the heat and the smiling faces of
those enjoying the waves got through his fear and he decided to face it.

As he stripped off his clothes, though he already wasn't wearing much
due to the heat, he made his way to the water.

}: You shouldn't be so frightened, I would never let anything happen
to you.:{ Calodith said simply from his spot in the sand.

X'amor smiled at his lifemate, **I know Cal.**

So the bluerider made his way to the water taking his time. Letting
himself get used to the water and feel the rhythm of the waves as
they moved higher and higher as he moved farther and farther out.

He turned for a moment to look back at the beach and everyone along
it, his gaze fell on his dragon before he felt a powerful weight on
him and he was sucked into the churning water of a large wave.

Jenasie had been sitting on the bench, when Chino gave a high
whistle; she looked up and saw the dragonrider disappear under the
waves. **Rip tide**. She didn't even think about it, she was on her
feet and running before she even knew it. She reached the waters edge
and kept running, she could only faintly hear Chino behind her. When
the pull of the water got to strong she dived under it, straight into
the rip tide. She knew where it was her dolphin partner Zarias had told her.

She had long since learnt to open her eyes underwater, Jenasie
attempted to whistle, to see if Zarias was about to help. Even as she
did she managed to get one arm around the dragonrider's waist then
began to fight the rip. The was a nudge on her other arm and if She'd
been able she would what cried out ion joy, it was Zarias, She
wrapped her other arm around the dolphin's dorsal fin and the two to
them pulled themselves and the dragonrider out of the rip.

As she broke out of the water she made sure she pulled the
dragonrider's head free of it. Chino flew around then chattering
concerns, as she began to pull him towards the beach. When Jenasie
was about chest deep Zarias turned back and went back to the pod,
Jenasie made a mental note to thank her dolphin partner later as she
managed to pull the dragonrider out of the water and back onto the beach.

X'amor sputtered, expelling sea water from his lungs as his body
tried to wake form unconsciousness. For a few moments X'amor couldn't
recall who, or where he was, but it came flooding back to him; the
strong push, the panic, the quick dive into black nothingness as he
fell unconscious. He was _really_ confused though by the tugging and
pulling sensations he was feeling.

**I'm on the beach...someone must have pulled me out...**

}:X'amor! Are you alright?:{ Calodith asked urgently in his mind.

**Yes Cal, I'm alright. Who saved me?**

}: One who swims with dolphins, she dove into the water that had
pulled you under and her dolphin pulled you both out.:{

X'amor decided it was safe for him to open his eyes, so he slowly
looked about him quickly finding his saviour breathing heavily, from
pulling him, over him. "Thank you." he croaked from a dry salty mouth
and throat.

Jenasie gave a smile as she looked down at the dragon rider beneath
her. A brief comment about him deciding to rejoin the living crossed
her mind but she didn't say it. She racked a hand through her
dripping wet hair. "Hey, that's ok." Her voice was basically normal;
due to the fact she managed or sub-consciously remembered to take a
breath before diving. Chino sat on her shoulder, eyes whirling with
faint panic. Her breathing was still a little on the heavy side so
the sentence may have come out a bit exasperated. She locked eyes
with him, he was ok, it was bound to be more shock than anything
else. **Towel** She bethought the flit sitting on her shoulder and he
took flight, vanishing /between/ only to come back with a towel that
dragged him down. She wrapped the dragonrider in the towel.

Then leaned back a little giving him plenty of room to breathe.

When the dolphineer locked eyes with him a faint image of Tavia came
up in his mind, but this woman was younger, delicate almost. And her
eyes were a much more startling green. Almost like Kachine's. He
vaguely wondered what the young healer had been up to recently, but
his mind wandered back the young woman next to him.

He wrapped the towel more closely about him and decided to try and
sit up. His breath was steady now and his thoughts a bit more
cohesive. "I'm, X'amor, rider of Calodith," he nodded his head
towards the blue that was now hovering over him. The blue understood
that his rider was okay but he wanted to just make sure. "He thanks
you for saving me." X'amor said with a slight grin.

He had dark brown curls and eyes like fire, so fascinating it was
hard not to stare. Jenasie gave a smile. "I'm Jenasie, partner to
Zarias." She returned by way of greeting, giving a general hand wave
in the direction of the water and any dolphin fins that might still
be around. She looked up at the blue dragon hanging over him; she'd
only been this close to Nilzuth, her brother's blue before. Although
being so close to the Weyr, she got pretty close to some of the
dragons who where interested in dolphins.

"You best tell Calodith that he is most welcome then" She said with
another smile. "It's an honour to meet you X'amor"

The bluerider raised his eyebrows and grinned, "An honour to meet me?
I should be honoured, you saved _my_ life." He shook his head, **I
wonder if I should offer to have some dinner or wine or something, to
say thanks.**

}: Of course you should. You don't visit with enough people any
more.:{ Calodith chided.

X'amor smiled even more and focused on the slender woman next to him.
**It wouldn't hurt to try, I _haven't_ had a nice dinner with someone
new in a long time...** He turned to the dolphineer, "My blue thinks
that I should invite you to the Weyr for dinner in thanks."

She was about to wave off his claim over saving his life, after all
it was part of what she did, but then he caught her off guard with
that offer. If Jenasie was every caught to stare like a hungry dragon
at a heardbeast about to become lunch, that would have been the one
off. She gave her head a bit of a shake, in order to prevent further
embarrassment. Where Chino decided to answer for her and gave a happy
trill while bobbing his head up and down.

Half grabbing at the flit to silence him, the dolphineer blushed.
"I'm most surprised at such an offer" She told him being completely
honest. "But" She added with a smile "I wouldn't say no, to either of you"

X'amor was amused by the flit and dolphineer's interaction, but he
kept his smile small, "Well if you won't say no then I guess I don't
have to worry about being turned down." He sat up straight and made a
show of clearing his throat, "Dolphineer Jenasie," he took her hand
and kissed the top of it lightly, looking back up at the dolphineer,
"I would be most honoured if you would join me at the twentieth
candlemark this evening at the Weyr's Dining Cavern for the evening
meal. Will you accept my lady?"

Her blush deepened when he kissed her. **Oh my, by the Shell of
Faranth.** The flit gave another happy nod, then took flight and
disappeared for a while, leaving his owner to deal with the
dragonrider's very gracious offer. Trying so hard to hide her blush
she smiled back at him. "I accept my Lord" She told the highly
romantic bluerider, still feeling the colour rising in her cheeks.
The twentieth candlemark, hopefully she could pull her self together
by then and be a colour that was natural for Southerns' rather than
looking like a sunburnt visitor.

X'amor was almost surprised at himself; but thought nothing of it
though at the sight of the beautiful woman before him blushing. It
wasn't every day that someone blushed in that way because of him. He
smiled his naturally dashing smile that many had never seen, "I'm
very grateful," he then stood up and still holding her hand bowed and
kissed it once more, "Alas though I must return to my weyr before my
lack of clothes gets me so covered in sand there will be no way of
getting it off in time for our dinner." His eyes sparkled as he
scooped up his clothes and quickly pulled on his trousers, jumped
onto his blue, declined his head towards the dolphineer and signalled
for the dragon to take off.

Jenasie watched them take off, with a grin on her face. She waved as
the two began towards the Weyr. Then he mind started to race, what
was she going to wear?, what had she been thinking when she'd said
yes! _shards_ he was glorious though. That last thought made her
blush more and she looked at where Chino came back and landed on her
shoulder. " I don't know weather to love you or hate you at the
moment" She told the flit, he shrugged and curled up on her shoulder
and went to sleep. The dolphineer sighed and headed back to the hall
maybe there was someone around who could help her out.

}: Are you okay X'amor? You've never acted that way before. :{
Calodith asked as they soared towards the Weyr.

The half naked rider laughed heartily, **I've never felt better Cal,
I've never felt better.** It may have been because he had come so
close to death, but right then X'amor decided he wouldn't hide in the
shadows any longer.
