}:Nyinth, is your rider coming to see our eggs again?:{ Ikoladith asked curiously. She didn't mind if her mate's rider stopped by to visit, but she wasn't sure about letting anyone else see her eggs. Jyramikah had asked her to let the candidates come by to see the eggs at least once or twice, but the gold hadn't answered her yet.
}:I will ask him.:{ He told his lovely gold.
Z'al was with Kirra. They where picking out a few things for the baby. When his brown informed him of Ikoladith's request. He glanced over at Kirra and decided he would surprise her if the gold would allow it. **Ask her if she would allow me to bring my weyrmate.**
}:He asks if he can bring his mate. She is a kind person. She is egg heavy now and is in hopes of impressing one of our young ones.:{ Ikoladith thought a moment and decided that it would be all right. }:She is welcome.:{ the gold replied. She would have to let the candidates see the eggs before the hatching so that they might bond, but it could be done in small groups. That is what she would tell Jyra later.
}:She says it would be all right.:{ Nyinth informed his Lifemate as he made his way to the sands.
**Good** He turned to Kirra with a smile. "My love I have a suprise for you. Come with me, there is something you should see." He took a scrape of fabric he found on one of the shelves and tied it around her eyes. He then carefully lead her to the hatching sands. Once they were at the mouth of the cavern he smiled as he took of the fabric.
Just as Z'al and Kirra got to the caverns, Ikoladith informed her rider of their plans. Jyramikah watched as the brownrider removed the blindfold from his weyrmate's eyes. She loved to see the reaction of others the first time that they saw the eggs. There may not be very many, but they were impressive none the less. She remembered as a candidate getting to see the eggs and touch them. She was still trying to convince the gold to let the candidates in to see the eggs before the hatching. She wanted the newer candidates to get a feel for what was going to happen at the hatching and give the rest a chance to bond with the eggs. **Thank you for letting Kirra come, Ikola. I know you want the best for your eggs and that means letting them go when the time comes.** she told the gold lovingly.
Kirra had gotten the idea of where they were by the heat under her feet, but her face still showed her excitement and awe of the sight before her. She smiled brightly at Z'al before she slowly took in the group of eggs and the protective Gold over them. She felt a sudden companionship with the queen dragon, as they were both eagerly awaiting the birth of their children.
Though Ikolidath had many more and they were being hatched, Kirra could understand the dragon's protectiveness and gave the Queen as deep a bow as she could.
Z'al smiled as he bowed respectfully to the large gold. He moved over to her rider, "Jyramikah, This is my weyrmate Kirranna. She hopes to impress one of Ikoladith's wonderful hatchlings to be."
"It's nice to meet you, Kirranna." Jyramikah replied with a welcoming smile.
Kirra curtsied before the Goldrider, "I'm glad to finally get to meet you Goldrider Jyramikah." She would have felt awkward talking to the woman Z'al had slept with that day Nyinth caught Ikolidath in any situation other than the one she was in right now. She was too excited to worry about such things.
"Please, call me Jyra. Have you ever stood for a hatching before?" she asked as she motioned them out onto the Sands. She had loved to wander through the eggs as a candidate and still felt the same awe every time she walked among the eggs of her gold's clutches. She liked to get to know the candidates a bit and ease any uncertanties they might have about the upcoming hatching.
"Um, yes I stood at the last hatching." She paused, "But this time it will be different, I'm expecting, so it should be interesting." Kirra still couldn't help being awed by the sight before her.
"Then I'll spare you the usual candidate talk I give. When are you due?" she asked curiously. She remembered how uncomfortable the first few months of pregnancy could be and sympathized with the young woman.
"Well this will be the beginning of the second month, so still a few more.
It's been tiring, but I'm too excited to let that spoil anything." she squeezed Z'al's arm to remind him that she was also excited because it was his child as well.
"It gets better, trust me. I have four of my own. Other than tiredness, have you had any other symptoms?"
Kirra shrugged, "Well, I've had morning sickness quite a lot, I guess it's just the usual stuff, nothing too extreme or too worrisome."
"I think the hardest part was not being able to see my feet after awhile. I really admire you for standing even though you are expecting. You'll have to tell me about being a weyrling and pregnant when you Impress."
Kirra nodded her agreement, "Of course." Kirra stole a glance at the eggs and then looked back at the goldrider, "Um, I don't mean to be rude, but I was wondering if I could look more closely at the eggs?"
"Of Course. Go ahead and wander to your heart's content. I'll be over here if you need anything." Jyra said with a smile as she headed towards the stands.
Kirra thanked the Goldrider and then squeezing Z'al's hand she left him to walk among the eggs. She had never been so confident with any of the clutches as she was with this one. Maybe it was just that she was so pleasantly happy about having her baby.
The young woman let her fingers move gently along the eggs closest to her, they were warm and hard to the touch, that hatching _would_ be soon. She spent extra time with the smaller eggs, figuring that they were most likely the green ones. She had heard of people having connections-of sorts with certain eggs when they first visited with them. But Kirra felt no such connection, maybe it was still too soon, she was in fact the first Candidate to get to come touch them, at least it seemed so by the way Ikoladath seemed to be acting more protective than Kirra was used to.
Z'al watched from the side protectively. She needed to get a feel for the eggs but he was afraid something would happen to her. He smiled as he saw her hand stray to her ever enlarging belly.
Kirra felt the particular feeling of Z'al's eyes on her, so she turned her head back to him. Seeing the overflowing love apparent in his eyes made Kirra want to run to him and kiss him all over. Of course that was not a very good idea in the hatching grounds with a protective gold and her rider present. So Kirra decided to be satisfied with giving him one of her special, dashing smiles.
}:You need to eat, Jyra.:{ the gold suggested not wanting to sound as if she wanted them to go even though she did.
**I do?** she replied knowing exactly what her gold was trying to do and not having any of it.
}:Yes. You should ask Nyith's rider and his weyrmate to go with you.:{
**They will go shortly.** she replied getting up to stretch her legs. She _was_ hungry, but she wasn't going to run Z'al and his weyrmate out just because her gold was tired of them being here. She would have to get used to the candidates at some point so this was a start.
}:Nyith tell your rider that my rider wants something to eat and is waiting for them to leave.:{ the gold told her mate when she realized that her rider was not going to do anything to make them leave.
Nyinth informed Z'al. Z'al chuckled as he looked over at Jyra. "It would seem your dragon is a tattle tail. She informed Nyinth that you need to eat." He smiled as he turned to his weyrmate. "Come love it would seem that we need to be going. You need to write to your parents again anyway."
"She does like to make sure I take care of myself so I can care for her properly. You're more than welcome to stop by whenever you want to see the eggs." Jyramikah replied surprised that her gold would use such a tactic to get what she wanted.
Kirra nodded to Z'al, "Okay," she didn't mind writing to her mother, but just thinking about her father made her angry. She stuffed those thoughts to the back of her mind as she turned to look at the goldrider. "Thank you very much Jyra. I just might take you up on that." The candidate bowed to the gold before she turned and, with her arm through her weyrmate's made her way out of the Sands.
