Description: Rizona Impresses green Ucsonth

Date: month 1, day 13 of Turn 4
Rizona hurried into her robe and followed the rest of the candidates out onto the Hatching Sands. The hot sand nearly scorched her feet, but she didn't mind. There was so much going on; she didn't know what to look at.
She barely realized how many people were in the stands before the first egg hatched.
The eggs were hatching! Rizona stepped back, out of the crowd as candidates were made into weyrlings. She watched the joy come over different faces as they each found their lifemates. As weyrlings led off their new charges, she inched closer to the remaining eggs.
One egg in particular caught her attention. It was smaller than most, but was more than making up for it with exuberant rocking. Suddenly the egg burst open, and a tiny green dragonet stumbled out to the hot sands. The clumsy little green tripped over her own feet before meeting Rizona's eyes.
}: I am Ucsonth! I am stuck but I am very hungry. :{ Rizona was in shock, but only for a split second. She rushed forward to help the little green untangle herself, all the while murmuring words of encouragement. ** This way, and I will feed you.**
}: I am most hungry. Is it very far? :{ Rizona smiled lovingly. ** No, not far. Just this way. ** She led Ucsonth off, through the corridor to where the weyrlingstaff waited with bowls of meat for the hungry little dragonets.
She took a bowl of meat, and started feeding Ucsonth pieces, one at a time. }: More! :{ the little green demanded impatiently. ** There is plenty, no need to gorge yourself love. I promise you can eat your fill.
**
Finally Ucsonth started to slow down, eating her meat a bit more daintily.
Her belly was obviously full. "Are you ready for a nap now, love?" Rizona asked when at last Ucsonth stopped gobbling down meat.
The dragonet sleepily affirmed that it was indeed time for a nap. Rizona led her to the weyrling barracks, settling her on a couch that would become their new home. She sat next to Ucsonth, just taking in all that had happened. She was a rider! She was now forever bonded to a dragon. Who could have imagined that this would have ever happened to her, a lowly hold-bred girl? She sat there peacefully until one of the weyrlingstaff came to remind her about the celebration.
