K'sedel

K'sedel

Kiya grinned as she and Keeynth popped out of /between/ above River Bluff Weyr. A change of pace was always a good thing, and she found K'sedel a more than competent Weyrleader. **Down please, love.**

As she dismounted, she tapped a passing brownrider on the shoulder.
"Directions to the Weyrleader's office, please?"

After getting directions, she turned to Keeynth. **Go sun yourself. I'll call for you when I know where our weyr will be.**

She turned away as Keeynth launched herself skyward. She followed the directions, and was shortly outside the Weyrleader's office. She knocked, and waited for a response.

"Come!"

Kiya entered, smiling. "Greetings Sir, my duty to your dragon. Searchrider Kiya reporting."

"I've been expecting you greenrider. Take a seat." The Weyrleader pointed to a chair on the other side of his desk, and watch as she set herself down. Nothing much seemed to have changed in the time since he had left Dream's End.

Kiya sat down in the indicated chair and leaned back. "Thank you Sir."

"Can I see your papers please?" He'd received the transfer request itself some time ago, but there were always the final papers that a rider carried to be filed appropriately that made it official.

Kiya pull the papers out from underneath her flight jacket. "I believe they are all here, Sir," she said, handing the papers to the Weyrleader.

He flicked through them, pausing as something caught his eye. "Wingthird, you are aware that you will not be able to continue as an active searchrider?"

Kiya nodded. "Yes Sir, Keeynth and I are both aware of this."

"Good. I'm pleased to hear that."

"We both understand that with this promotion come certain responsibilities."

"You'd not have been recommended for it if it was felt that you were not ready."

Kiya smiled. "Thank you Sir."

"Is there anything I need to be aware of?"

Kiya paused. Should he be told? Would he tell K'reyel? Did it have any place in this working relationship? "I ah, plan on bringing my son over as soon as I am settled, Sir. You, ah. Shards! You might be interested to meet him."

"Your son?" K'sedel cast his mind back. "He'll have graduated from weyrlinghood by now."

"No, that was my daughter, Elenah. I am speaking of my youngest son, Kyre...He was concieved at Dreams End."

"I see, well we have some excellent foster mothers here."

"Could you suggest one for your grandson?"

Grandson - sure he had grandchildren, five to be exact. But if he'd heard right she was telling him there was a sixth. "Grandson?"

Kiya tried to smile nervously. "Yes Sir, your grandson. I don't believe the two of you have met."

"What are you saying greenrider?"

Kiya sighed. "I'm saying you have another grandson. The father of Kyre doesn't know he has a child with me."

"K'reyel?"

"Yes, Sir."

"Does he know?"

"No, Sir. He is not aware of Kyre's existance."

"I would advise that you tell him sooner rather than later."

"I wasn't planning on telling him at all, Sir. After all, I doubt I will see much of him."

"He's my 'second."

Shards! That was an unexpected complication. She would be working directly with the man, and he was bound to discover Kyre and put two and two together. "I believe I will need to inform him then, Sir."

"Then as I said, do it sooner rather than later." The last thing anyone needed was their 'second and third at each other's throats.

"Yes, Sir. Any suggestions on how to tell him he has a son he knows nothing about?" Kiya asked with a wry expression.

"It might be best to just tell him."

Kiya sighed. "Yes Sir."

"Is there anything else, besides that, that I should know?"

"No Sir, should I report to the Headwoman for a weyr?"

"Yes, Sol will sort you out."

"Is there anything else, Sir?"

"Not for the moment."
