Breakfast was usually the best time to try and track someone down.
Journeymen will often work through lunch, and the dinner time tended to drag out, with people coming and going. Nobody, how ever, missed breakfast.
Bhervehan made sure he was in the dining hall nice and early, grabbing a seat near the entrance, rather that at the Master's table as was his right. But he was not here to eat, yet. He was working.
And there he was. Tapping the young man with his walking stick, he asked "Keayd?"
"Yes, sir?" Key asked, turning to look. He did recognize the new master even if he couldn't remember his name. His three legged canine whined, reminding him that she waited breakfast.
Bhervehan rached down to let the canine sniff his hand before scratching him behind the ears. "I have a proposition for you, but first let's get this little guy fed."
"Gal, and she appreciates it," Keayd replied while Vena wiggled her whole back body, since she also lacked tail.
Leading the man to a table Winda had reserved for them, he levered himself into a seat. "Keayd, my daughter, Winda."
"Good morning, miss," Keyad greeted her.
"And to you, Journeyman. I was about to get some breakfast for my father, can I grab something grab something for yor canine?"
"She would love few sausage , thank you," Keayd replied.
"Sausage it is," Winda replied. "I'll be right back."
When she left, Bhervehan turned to the young man again. "So, let me get to the point, have you any thing pressing for the next month or so?"
"Just teaching apprentices and trying to get the hall's records in order, why?" Keayd answered and asked. He was curious now.
"Well, it just so happens you have a couple of things I could use."
"Like what? Clubfoot and deformed canine?" Key asked sarcastically. He couldn't help it, it was reflecsive defence.
Bhervehan laughed and waved his walking stick at Keayd, "this stick ain't for show young man, and I will admit that they do play a part in my choice, but that is not what I was talking about."
"So, what are you talking about then?" Key asked.
"You have access to a supply of apprentices and a gift for making liquors."
"Well, I don't know about gift..." Keayd said modestly. "But I'm teaching a junior class."
"Trust me on this," Bhervehan said, with a smile. "You are young enough, so you are not set in your way."
The master was probably right in that, Keyad mused. He was young, and still searching for his way.
