Description: Birigundi comes in from running in the cold only to meet up with N'ki and his fresh pot of klah.
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 8, day 2 of Turn 3
Biriundi had not felt the cold when he was running around the Weyrbowl but he was starting to feel it as he walked into the dining cavern. All he could think of was a nice cup of klah and a munchy for breakfast to start the day right.
N'ki sat at a table in the dinning cavern, with an extra hot pot of klah next to him. It had cooled some, some being the time it had taken him to walk here. But that first mug of klah was imortant, so he's just pored himself that one stright from the pot out of the fire. It was then that he saw a young man, he though he recignized as a candidate, come in from outside. **Who needs extra exercize around this place?**
}:Apparently he does.:{
**Sense when do you answer questions before I shove you off your couch?**
But this time Veriath remained silent.
Birigundi nodded a greeting to N'ki as he picked up a mug from the side table. He looked around for the pot of klah that was normally nearby but noticed it had been relocated to N'ki's table. Smiling as he walked up he asked, "Can I get a cup of that?"
"Ofcourse, the freshest it comes. Straight from the kitchens to my table. They usually bring out a cooled pot soon, for everyone else."
Cooled, being a reletively drinkable temperature. The only reason N'ki got a whole pot in the first place was because he could only get somany cups out of it before it 'cooled' beyond his liking, and that he got up early to get it himself.
"Oh, well, that should do." The candidate held his mug out.
The bluerider poured the boy a large mug full of steaming klah. Warming himself over just the steam was an option with this batch.
Birigundi looked at it rather dubiously. "Is it still bubbling?"
"Thats when its the best. Your lucky to get a mug full when its still that hot. I'm never able to get in more than a few cups before it gets to cool." N'ki said as though this was truely a shame.
"Really? It doesn't burn your mouth at all?" Birigundi asked as his realized even the mugs handle was starting to heat up to an unbearable temperature.
"After the first few years, no not anymore." It was reare that he burned his mouth on hot klah anymore. He did like it hot, very hot, but somehow he was always talking to someone while it cooled from boiling point.
Which was really the reason he obtained it so hot from the kitchen to begain with.
Birigundi was never one to look weak. He gave the klah a few tentative blows before taking a long sip. Immediately he spit it back out, showing the floor and table with klah. "Too hot!" He managed to say, though his tongue and lips still felt on fire. Setting the cup down none to gently on the table he ran to find anything cool enough to stop the burning.
N'ki looked sadly at the klah the the boy had spilled on the table, though he'd managed to place the mug down without tipping it over. An amused look crossed his face then and he chuckled before taking a sip of his own klah, which was quite hot but not as hot as when he first poured it. Perfect drinking temperature.
