"Well, now, there's your papa, girls! Everyone wave! Hello Papa!" the greenrider grinned, waving with one hand while steadying the little tyke on his shoulders with the other.
"Reyela, Kerrana." Wait a moment, what where his daughters doing with their uncle. "How come you're with your Uncle?" he asked, not wanting to upset the girls.
"Oh, they wanted to help me scrub Eniidith, so Kerrana and I picked up Reyela after Harper Classes let out." R'sedel's face fell slightly.
"You don't have other plans, do you?"
"Da! Please?" Kerrana looked up at her father. "Eniidith is the right size for me to help with."
Reyela's plea wasn't much further behind her sister. "C'mon Da, she's right, she can't reach up to Erdenth all the time."
"Didn't you remember to check with me or your fostermother first?" asked K'reyel.
"Oh, but I asked their fostermother when I picked Kerrana up," R'sedel quickly assured him.
"Good, so long as someone knows where they are is the main thing,"
replied his brother. "They aren't bothering you or her."
"My nieces a bother? Never, right girls?" R'sedel grinned, giving Reyela's shoulder an affectionate squeeze. "They're nothing but a joy."
"And Eniddith?"
"Oh, Faranth, Eniidith _loves_ the girls. Doesn't she ladies?" The greenrider reached up to tickle little Kerrana's sides and grinned at her happy giggles. "Like her own little Hatchlings."
"Well..." The green and her rider weren't bothered, and the way his daughters were reacting, he couldn't stop them seeming so happy. "Just so long as you two remember that you are having dinner with me and Mai tonight, and that you'll need to clean up first."
"I will have them all cleaned and polished and at your door, little brother. No need to worry about that." After all, how dirty could they get washing a dragon?
"Good."
"Right, we'd better get going then! Eniidith is waiting, and you know you can never keep a lady waiting. Say goodbye to your daddy girls!"
"See you later Da!" chorused the two girls.
"Don't drag the brushes there, Reyela love," R'sedel said as he lead the way down the beach. Well, his brother seemed to be in a rather amicable mood. He wondered just what on Pern was going on...
