Description: Eridhiya reports to K'sedel as River Bluff's new Weyrdragonhealer.
Location: River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 6, day 5 of Turn 4
Avesith broke from *between* above River Bluff Weyr and began to spiral down for a landing. Eridhiya squinted through her goggles, surveying her new home. She'd visited a few times, but now she was going to live here.
The green landed in the bowl and Eri dismounted. She patted the green hide and smiled. "I'm sorry you've got to keep my packs on your back, but I promise I'll unload you as soon as I find my new weyr. Sun until then?" she inquired.
}:I will. Though I would like these things off of me.:{ the green complained quietly.
"I know."
Eri had asked for directions to the Weyrleader's office from a Dolphin Cove friend who had transferred from there a few Turns ago. Clutching the paper, she followed the directions and eventually wound up by a door. She knocked. "Weyrleader?" she said.
"You are?" asked K'sedel.
"Master Dragonhealer Eridhiya, from Dolphin Cove Weyr." She extended papers to him. "I'm transferring here."
"Ahhh, We've been expecting you." He rose to his feet, hand reaching out for the papers. "Please take a seat."
She gave them to him and took a seat, waiting for him to study them. She felt confident that he would approve the transfer, but it was natural to feel some apprehension when her records were being examined. "I hope you and Nikornath are well?" she asked, getting the name from Avesith.
"Both of us are doing fine," was the automatic reply as he scanned the small packet of hides. "Might I ask what brings you here to River Bluff?"
"I wanted a change of scenery and some different challenges. I like Dolphin Cove but I've been there a long time now. Your Weyrdragonhealer position was open- it was a chance I couldn't pass up."
"There's a spot for a greenrider in my wing, I take it you and Avesith prefer to fly the first half of fall?"
"We do. What should be done if there is a very serious injury during the first half, however?" Better to find out now than in a Fall.
"Brownrider P'lagen has been taking charge," explained the Weyrleader.
"He's a Senior Journeyman, and as he's been grounded from flying fall after reaching his 75th turn, this seemed the perfect solution for him and Colanth." He wasn't going to mention the heart murmur that had been found on the rider's last physical, that wasn't the business of anyone outside of P'lagen, the healers and himself. "There's also a couple of capable Journeymen and apprentices among the Weyrlingstaff."
"You'll find we have a very good Journeyranked bluerider, M'van. He's been seeing to many of the day-to-day duties while we've been without a Master of the craft."
"I will make sure to coordinate with both of them." Eri promised. "Do either of them intend their Mastery?" Helping another to become Master would prepare the Weyr better, after all.
"I think M'van would like to, although you'd have to speak to him about that."
"I will be sure to."
"Are there any questions that you have for me?" asked K'sedel. Some new riders did, others didn't.
"No, sir, but if I have any I'll request time to speak with you."
"Then I've nothing left to do, but welcome you to River Bluff."
"Thank you, sir. I look forward to staying here."
He rose to his feet and offered his hand, "We look forward to having you here."
