Nepec leaned in slightly closer, whispering, even though he knew she couldn't hear him. "You know, you have the most beautiful smile, Sakime."
Sakime felt his breath on her neck, warm and faintly ticklish. She moved closer, feeling daring without her brother around to see her. He didn't like her with boys. No one liked to leave her alone with boys. But just because she was deaf didn't mean she wasn't a normal girl. Gently, she ran her fingers down his cheek, knowing that he liked that.
He certainly did. His eyes and his grin told her so. Nepec gently brushed his lips against her neck, just under her ear. She might not be able to hear, but he knew her skin was still as sensitive as any other woman's.
She caught her breath in delight, feeling his lips send her blood humming through her veins. This felt good... She slid her arms around his waist, pulling him closer as his lips traveled. She wanted more.
Nepec certainly wasn't opposed to giving her all she wanted. Carefully he backed her up until the cold stone wall stopped her progress. Gently he leaned into her, giving her just a hint of things to come as his hands wrapped around her waist. He wondered where she lived, and if she might have a private room, which he certainly did not in the candidate barracks. Still, there were places he could take her...
F'melar was tired, and he rubbed his face as he strode through the halls to his weyr, looking forward to a soak in his bath before going to bed.
Sakime would probably be reading and waiting for him as usual, since her shift in the laundry had gotten off candlemarks ago and he hadn't received a message otherwise from her flit.
He turned a corner, and almost missed seeing the pair necking in the darkness entirely, save for a glimpse of skirt from the girl. On his shoulders, Affi cheeped quizzically, looking at the pair, and Tabs hummed in approval. Confused by his flits' behavior, F'melar glanced at the pair again. The color of that skirt did look familiar...
No. It couldn't be.
Sakime had let her hands creep up his back, holding him close as she enjoyed the feelings he was creating, and returning his kisses enthusiastically. An instinct, a breath of air and the slightest touch of a familiar scent caused her to open her eyes. She felt them widen as the livid face of her brother appeared behind him, curling a hand into her lover's collar and hauling him backwards, away from her.
"Hey!" Nepec cried indignantly as he waved his arms, trying to find his balance again. "What in Faranth's name do you think you're doing?!"
"What in Faranth's name do you think _you're_ doing, wherrybrain?"
F'melar snarled. "In the dark outside my weyr with my little sister?"
Roughly, he shoved the boy forward, barely containing his anger but aware that he needed to get somewhere private before his flits' shrieks attracted attention. Snatching his sister's arm, he pulled her and her lover around the next corner before shoving them inside the door to his weyr and slamming the door behind him.
"Hey now!" Nepec roared as he turned around to face him. "It's her choice, not yours!"
F'melar grabbed him by the shirt and shoved him toward the couch as he roared, feeling the heat in his face tint his vision red around the edges. "And how would you know that's what she wants? She doesn't know about sex, and I _sharding_ sure don't intend to let her start with YOU!"
"We were just _kissing_!" Though sex had been Nepec's hope. Eventually. And the way she was responding, it seemed she did know a little something about sex!
Sakime was mad. Not only had her brother interrupted her, but now he and her lover were arguing as if she wasn't there! She stamped her feet and made a harsh chopping motion, trying to catch his attention. She was old enough to marry, even if no one would have her. She was certainly old enough to make her own decisions, and not even her brother was going to stop her from doing that!
"That was kissing with intention." F'melar snarled at Nepec. "I know what you had in mind. You were thinking it was a nice quiet hallway where you could have your way with her! I..." His voice trailed off a moment as his attention became distracted by his sister, who was signing agitatedly at him, anger clouding her usually earnest face.
"Just what are you accusing me of, bluerider?" Nepec demanded. "I wouldn't have done anything with her that she wasn't willing to do!" And the way she had been responding, she was _very_ willing!
"You should have known better than to take advantage of a girl who had no way of understanding what was going on!" F'melar snapped, blinking at what his sister's agitated hands were saying. He signed quickly back at her for her to stop talking while he finished with the candidate. He would see what she had to say in just a moment.
Sakime's eyes widened. What? No! He was not going to talk to _her_ lover without hearing her side of the story! She shoved forward, forcibly inserting herself between her brother and her lover with a noise of frustration she could feel, even if she couldn't hear it. She slashed at her brother again, glared at her lover, and signed as emphatically as she could that the whole thing had been _her_ idea.
Now it was Nepec's turn to feel left out of the conversation. "Wait a second. What is she saying? Is she talking about me?"
"Shut up." F'melar growled, caught by surpise by his sister's wild yelp and incredulously trying to follow Sakime's words. She was angry at him for breaking in, that much he knew without seeing, but the rest... He signed back at her, just as harshly as she was. She didn't _know_ what she was doing. He was _supposed_ protect her!
Sakime felt the anger burning her face. She _did_ know what she was doing! He had no right to interrupt. He was supposed to protect her from Thread, not boys. She knew that there was no marriage in the weyr, so why wasn't she allowed to experiment like any other girl? She did _not_ need him to protect her from her own lover!
Nepec watched as their hands flew in all directions, knowing that they understood each other but not having a clue as to what was being said. Finally he had enough. Whatever conversation they were having, it was obvious that he had been forgotten. Well, if that was the way it was, why stick around. If she wanted him, she'd know where to find him.
F'melar noted the candidate edging towards the door to his weyr, but when he turned his head to yell at him and get his sorry arse back where he could take out his frustrations on him, Sakime grabbed his shirt to yank his attention back to her. Sakime saw her lover leaving, and got even angrier. She didn't know why he was leaving now, but she was certain her brother's interruption was the cause. Her brother's eyes kept wandering after her lover, but she forced him to face her. She was _not_ going to let him distract her from her rant, not when she was tired of him ignoring her questions and needs where it came to boys!
Nepec paused with his hand on the knob, waiting to see if anyone was going to stop him from leaving, but they seemed to busy flinging their hands around to care much about him. With a shrug he opened the door and slipped out, relieved to be out of there. Maybe he had time to salvage what was shaping up to be an enjoyable evening.
