Description: M'yex helps Ch'lis tend to Omath
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 8, day 5 of Turn 4
M'yex sat next to his little green. He had just finished bathing her and was getting ready to oil her. He wore a tight pair of pants that hugged his legs. He had taken his shirt off. He pushed his hair back as he put oil on his cloth and set to oiling Enyth. She spread her wings so he could oil under them.
So engrossed in his dragon he did not hear anyone else enter the cavern.
It was too early! Ch'lis thought as a yawn escaped him.
Impressing Mare in the middle of the night had been more draining than he had expected, but when he looked over at the small flit, who had neatly curled up in the grove between Omath's shoulders, he felt nothing but affection overwhelm him.
}:I love her too:{ Omath added as he looked back at the small green. He nudged her lightly to stir her from her sleep. }:Wake up little sister, unless you want to swim:{ The flit, who contrasted sharply against Omath's dark ocean blue hide with her lighter green hue, gaped her mouth open before she stretched out of her ball. She sent Ch'lis the demand that she wanted to be picked up, because her muscles were still to tired to move. **What a lazy little beast** Ch'lis laughed as he lifted the limp flit off Omath and placed her on his own shoulder.
The blue seemed relieved, and was more than happy to dive into the lake. Once he swam a lap, he turned his attention back to the shores }:Isn't that Enyth?:{ Omath noted towards the green pair.
It was, Ch'lis realized. The weyrling seemed submerged in oiling the dragon, but Ch'lis found no harm in saying hi. "Hey, M'yex.
How're you doing?"
M'yex glanced up. He smiled as he waved. "Wondering when these little lovelies will not be so demanding. Enyth thinks that the moment her eyes open she needs to be tended." He chuckled. Enyth was a bueatiful little green. "Hello Omath. So who is tis little darling you have there?" He had noticed the little flit. He picked up a towel to start whiping oil from his arms and anywhere else it may have dripped.
Ch'lis removed the small firelizard from his shoulder, who seemed more like a rag doll obeying the movement that his hands demanded of her. "This is Mare," he cupped the little flit and showed her off to M'yex.
Mare stretched out her leg, and flaunted her elegant wings. Be gracious you can see me, her actions muttered to them as she finally sat up. She took a brief moment to clean between her toes before she fell out of Ch'lis's hands and glided back to her rightful place on his shoulder.
Barely a few hours old, and already she was a piece of work. "I just Impressed her last night. She decided she would make an appearance by hatching in the dead of night." Or early that morning should he say.
The small green firelizard chirped when she saw the oil, and rubbed her triangular head against his cheek.
M'yex chuckled. "Well, I have to say she is a beauty. She looks just like a miniture dragon. And if she is anything like Enyth your going to have your hands full." He ran a hand through his hair.
}: She is small. Why is she so small?:{ Enyth looked at the flit with intrest.
** She is a firelizard my sweet. They are supposed to be small.
They are said to be distant cousins of dragons.** He smiled at his green.
}: I think I like her. She is a lovely green. You can tell her that.:{ Enyth nodded as she turned to get comfortable while he talked.
"Enyth says she thinks she likes her and that I may inform her that she is pretty." He laughed at his dragon.
Mare made a second chirp when she realized that were complimenting her beauty. ~Of course I'm beautiful~ her sound implied her words. She nudged Ch'lis again.
}:She wants you to oil her. She thinks it looks nice:{ Omath commented as he made it to shore. }:After you oil her, you can clean me, but I want to swim first:{ "Can I borrow some of that oil?" Ch'lis motioned to the oil that M'yex was using.
"Sure. I'm finished with it anyway." He handed it over.
Mare promptly glided off of Ch'lis's shoulder and landed on a small bolder that jutted out of the ground. She spread her wings open, wanting him to touch up her back before moving to her belly. She crooned delightfully as he rubbed the oils into her hide, before she exposed her paler green underside. Her croons became louder, similar to a purring feline, until he was done.
She laid there content with the pampering she had received.
"I can tell what you mean with having my hands full. I mean,"
Ch'lis waved his hand at her. "She just hatched, and look at her. She's already acting like a spoiled holder's daughter." He could not help but laugh at his precious flit.
Mare simply blinked at him with her tranquil blue-green eyes, and projected her appreciation to him.
M'yex chuckled. "Just wait. She will probably get worse. So, want to walk down to breakfast when your done? I could give you a hand since I am done." He offered.
"Sure," He looked over to Omath.
}:I'm ready now:{ "Omath, has kindly informed me that he's ready for his bath,"
Ch'lis remarked as he made his way back to the lake. He kept his clothes on as he marched back to his blue, because these clothes were set aside for dragon tending. Besides, he could always clean up afterwards.
M'yex walked over and pulled out his rag. **You don't mind do you?** }:Of course not. You took care of me first.:{ "He is quite a handsome blue." He smiled as he set to work next to Ch'lis.
}:Yes I am:{ Omath replied proudly.
Ch'lis could not help but let a loud laugh escape him. "He agrees with you." What an arrogant beast...just like his rider.
}:Like rider like dragon:{ Omath cocked his head at M'yex before turning a glance to Enyth. }:She's very pretty too:{ The blue added in a more intriguing tone.
**Who? Enyth?** Ch'lis peered back. He was surprised that his dragon would even make such a comment about another dragon at that age. Did the green hear the comment he peered back at Enyth watching to see if her eyes whirled like a weyr girl.
Enyth did not let the compliment go unnoticed. She preened prettily. }:Thank you. I think you are very nice to look at.:{ M'yex tried to keep from laughing. Enyth was so polite at times he couldn't help it. He could see her eyes whirling in the tranquil colors of blue and green. He could also see that she was ready to return to the barracks.
Omath was proud enough to pass Enyth's comment back to his rider. **M'yex?** Ch'lis took a casual glance at the effeminate looking young man. He was too pretty for Ch'lis's own tastes in a mate, but he was attractive enough to gain a second glance from the blue rider, especially sense the rider lacked in apparel. He coughed, pushing any thoughts of lust aside for the greenrider. Omath was still too young, Ch'lis reminded himself, and besides the green was not going to rise for at least another five months. "Okay, I think he just needs to be oiled now, and he'll be done," he looked back to M'yex more purposely now.
"Alright." M'yex just smiled as he moved out of the water. HE helped his new friend oil the blue. He was not unaffected by Ch'lis. He actually liked him. But, as they were instructed he blocked that from his green.
"There," they were done. "Thanks for the help," especially sense he had a late start. If he was not pressed for time, he would have done it himself, but he was a little too slow that morning. That is what he got for Impressing a flit in the middle of the night.
}:He did a good job:{ Omath applauded. }:But I like it better when you do it:{
**Of course you do** he scratched the blue's eye ridge. "But yeah. I really appreciated it, especially sense I was behind the clock this morning," and now they had to get going unless they wanted to be late for class.
"Not a problem." M'yex smiled.
