Jyramikah grinned as she finished tying the laces on her boots. She was always ready for a party and escpecially a surprise party. She and C'lor had helped S'ric plan the party for his father Br'nick. The bronzerider was a good friend and also a wingsecond, so she was happy to help out. The children were all excited and had done a very good job of keeping the whole event a secret.
C'lor had Ictavion on his hip and Tahyne clinging to his hand as he helped Nicosia get the children to the dining cavern for the midday meal. They were going to feed the children and then get Br'nick to join them for dessert. That was the plan for getting him to the party. "You're sure that he;s not busy today?" C'lor asked the wingsecond's oldest daughter.
"Yes, I'm sure. Jyramikah made sure of it." the young woman replied with an excited grin.
"I certainly did." the goldrider replied as she came to meet them. It looked like everything was in place. Now all they needed was the bronzerider in question. She had asked Ikoladith to pass a message on the Cendarnth, so hopefully it had been received. The gold had been a little preoccupied lately as she was getting close to clutching.
"Did what?" Br'nick asked as he opened his arms to recieve the children that were rushing towards him as if they hadn't seen him in turns rather than days. His children were as important to him as being a dragonrider was. He tried to see them as often as possible, but this sevenday had been harder than others to get by to see them.
"Made sure that you were coming." the goldrider replied with a grin.
Tahyne had let go of C'lor's hand and rushed into her father's arms. "Happy Birthing day, da!" she said excitedly as she leaned her head on his shoulder. She loved the way it felt being in her father's arms even if it was only for a few minutes.
Br'nick grinned and squeezed his little girl tighter. He had begun to wonder if they had forgotten his brithingday this turn as the children always tried to do something special for him. "Thank You, Tahyne." he said nodding to S'ric and C'lor.
S'ric had Braysin by the hand and grinned at their father. "Did they tell you anything?" he asked curious as to whether the surprise was still unmentioned.
Br'nick shook his head as he said, "No, what surprise?"
"Follow us and see, da." S'ric said taking the lead with Braysin close behind.
The small group followed the green rider into the dining cavern where they had set up a table with a cake and presents. Br'nick's eyes lit up when he saw the table. The children had invested quite a bit of help this turn and had done very good at keeping it a secret. "Is this for me?" he asked sounding surprised as he knew they wanted him to be. He had been told that they were planning it to be a surprise.
Jyramikah and C'lor laughed at their friend's tone of voice. Br'nick had known, but sounded so surprised. C'lor turned to the gold rider and said, "He hides it so well doesn't he?"
She nodded. "He does love those children."
Br'nick turned to his fellow riders and said, "Come join the party, my friends."
"We're coming, Br'nick." C'lor said as he took Jyra's hand and led her over to the table that had filled with children.
Br'nick helped his children and Jyramikah's to settle into a place before turning to the gold rider, "Thank you for helping them."
"You're welcome. I love a chance to help them surprise their father for his birthingday even if it is a few days late." she replied handing a piece of cake to him.
