Birigundi

Birigundi

Birigundi set a mug of brew in front of his fellow candidate. "I have some good news for you, my friend."

"Is the good news that's for me?" he said pointing to the mug.
"Because otherwise I have no idea what you're talking about."
Although more time was passing Toriat was still wary of the runner.

"No, that's just the appetiser." Birigundi sat down across from the tanner and leaned forward so that no one else could hear them. "I found someone who can help you get a little experience."

Toriat's face flushed. He had almost forgot about that conversation entirely. He actually now had to think this a bit more through now...
who would have thought... "What?! Seriously?" He began speaking in rapid fire. "Who, what, where, when, how, why?!?"

"You know, I thought alcohol was supposed to slow you down," Birigundi chuckled as he took a sip of brew. "I think you better drink a bit before I answer all those questions at once."

Toriat harrumphed, but then took a deep breath. "That's not a bad idea."
He took the barest sip, then stared into Birigundi's eyes. "Now Spill."

"She's a greenrider. Her name is Sarian and she is... experienced."
The barest hint of a grin crossed Birigundi's face as he remembered just how much fun learning about her 'qualifications' had been.

Toriat rolled his eyes at Birigundi's grin. "Well, that's the who I guess." He replied, biting his lip. He was definitely questioning if this was a good idea or not. Certain other things seemed to be going well. He wasn't going to mention this to the other boy though, since Toriat doubted Birigundi would agree with his idea of going well.

"The where and when... well, you just tell me when is good for you, and I'll talk to Sarian about the where." Birigundi was certainly looking forward to that little errand. He had a feeling he had still owed her a little more for the service she promised to render. And if not... well, in this case he was a fan of over paying!

"Well, I'm not exactly booked," Toriat said, in response to the time.
"Is this Sarian," Toriat leaned in much closer, "... discrete? I mean, I'd rather... you know will you keep this quiet?"

The runner leaned in. "I for sure will keep this quiet, and I very much doubt Sarian will be telling anyone." Birigundi was sure she didn't want it known that she was helping out a candidate in this way. She might gain a reputation, after all...

"Well then," Toriat leaned back, expelling the breath he was holding.
"I guess I should be thanking you then... friend," Toriat offered his arm to the other. **As long as this doesn't blow up in my face.** He half suspected himself of wanting this to go wrong, proving he shouldn't trust the runner. But temptation had gotten the best of him.

His 'friend' took his arm with one hand and raised his mug in the other. "To new experiences!"

"New experiences," Toriat echoed, in action and word, shaking his head at Birigundi. "And much less competition," he followed up with, recalling the first time the two had shared a mug together.

The runner clouted his friend's shoulder encouragingly. "Don't worry, Toriat. Our dragons are coming."

He smiled, "Well, my luck certainly has been looking up."
