J'darin

J'darin

"Sharding, foolish, idiotic, sun-crazed werry of a woman!"

He swore aloud in several more creative ways for a good two minutes, much to Hasaarth's amusement.

}:You should just go see her. You cannot stop thinking of her. :{

Hasaarth's words were interesting. The bronze always noticed such ...surprising... things.

"I'm afraid if I go see her, I'll shake her until I hurt her worse!" He sighed though, and went out to the ledge to stand beside the bronze. "Give me a lift, though?"

The bronze complied of course, and a short while later, J'darin was stepping into the Infirmary. After asking one of the young Journeyman Healers, J'darin stepped into the room indicated, pausing a beat as he saw her laying there. He finally said with a faint laugh, "Well, this is a switch. I'm coming to see you in the Infirmary, this time."

At first it looked as if she was asleep. Then, slowly, her eyes twitched, fluttered, and finally opened. She turned her head, the movement excruciatingly slow and she couldn't hide the wince from the pain that it inflamed. She did smile, a small one that was lopsided, but it couldn't last. She let her eyes flutter shut again and wondered when she would be able to get her next dose of fellis. The pain was almost unbearable and Rillith was starting to get agitated. After a moment, she realised she hadn't even really responded to J'darin's greeting, so she uttered a soft, hoarse, "Hey."

He blinked, struck by how badly she was hurt. He hadn't thought...

He rushed to her side and leaned close, trying to take her small hand in his sensitive one. "Zelle? Zelle... look at me love... Poor dear. Can I get you something?" He was worried at her listlessness. The Healers hadn't .. "Should I come back?" the last was soft, reluctant. He didn't want to leave her now.

"No, it's okay." The voice was soft, a whisper really, struggling to be heard among. She took a deep breath, but even that was painful. Knives shot at her from her back and she wanted to move, to work out the pain that way, but she couldn't seem to think clearly enough to do so. "How are you?" She managed, almost laughing, then stopping herself before she could. It was too hard.

He held her hand so gently, and looked down at her. "I'm not here for me. Silly greenrider. You seem to be in alot of pain? Didn't they give you fellis?" He was a little frightened, and even Rillith was commenting on the pain to Hasaarth.

"They did...some time." When was it? Zelle couldn't be sure. How long had she been in there? It had seemed like days, one hour running into the next. In truth, she hadn't been there that long. She tried to shift, then winced. She wanted to see her back. They had said it was cut deep, had kept her on her side and stomach, yet strangely if she couldn't move, she wanted to lie upon her back. She tried to laugh, but the sound only came out as a gasp. "Ow."

"Oh my poor lovely. Can I help you sit up, Zelle?" Gentle hands lay along her arm, ready to shift to lift her into a sitting position. "They said ... they said it was deep ... but you will heal." As she gasped, he blinked, and said worriedly, "Should I get the healers?"

"No." Zelle's voice broke even with the single syllable. She managed a tremulous smile but really hoped that J'darin wouldn't try that again. "No...just...I'll be fine." Eventually. Maybe. Shards, she hoped. "What are you doing here?" It was hard to speak, but she wanted to talk to him and him to talk to her.

"What am I doing here? Silly wherry! I came because you're hurt, and I wanted to make sure you were okay, and I was worried. And, shardit, Zelle. I wanted to see you." He traced her cheek gently with a finger. "You came everyday to see me when I was hurt. Did you really think I wouldn't come to see you, too?"

"I don't know." It was hard to think clearly. Sharding pain. Sharding stupid mistake. "I'm tired." And she hurt. Where was the fellis? She wanted to sleep but the pain was too potent to allow her to sleep. "Talk to me." She said finally, letting her eyes close and trying to concentrate on his touch against her cheek.

He left his hand there, gently caressing and he began a wild tale, for him. It started with an episode with a drudge in the kitchen, and ended with one of the older bronzeriders staring down at J'darin and pretending to scold him. It must have been comical, to say the least. "But I wasn't trying to bed her, you see... she tripped and fell, and being the gentleman, I caught her!" He went on to Zelle, a bit defensively.

He sensed she wasn't able for serious talk, so he simply let her hear his voice for a time. "See, Zelle. I get into all sorts of trouble without you around. You'd best get well fast."

"What would you do without me?" The greenrider murmured, eyes still closed. Despite the pain, or perhaps because of it, she was so tired. She was drifting in and out of consciousness, struggling to hear his voice, but quickly losing the battle. She wouldn't be able to stay awake much longer. She was glad he had come though. It lifted her spirits to see her there. She wondered how long he would stay, would he visit her again? What of K'hetah? Would he come?

"I'm tired." She whispered, still struggling but not quite as hard. Zelle was dizzy, even with her eyes closed. Maybe they had given her fellis not too long ago. She was finding it easy to lose track of time. The pain was beginning to dull, but that only resulted in her feeling even more tired. Zelle let out a long sigh and finally gave into it.

A tender expression crossed J'darin's face as she fell into sleep, though it didn't seem to be an easy one. "I would be lost without you, little one. Sleep now, I'll send in the healers with more fellis if need be." He kissed her forehead, gently, then her cheek. "I'll be back tomorrow with a treat for you, Zelle. Mind you do what they say." Not that she heard a word of it.... but he said it anyway.
