"KavLyn!" Toriat said, pounding on the tailor's door. "Please, be in your room, don't make me chase all over, making a bigger fool of myself!" He said under his breath. **And I hope no one else is in there.** He thought continuing to knock. "I've got something tasty!"
he said through the door, patting the wine skin slung over his shoulder.
"Are you there Kavlyn?"
"Tasty?" The door swung open to reveal Kavlyn with his shirt half buttoned.
"And you don't need to pound on the door like that! I just figured maybe I should try to put _something_ on before I opened the door!"
Toriat put his hand to Kavlyn's somewhat exposed chest, forcibly pushed Kavlyn back into his room and followed him in. "No reason to dress for me Kavlyn," he said undoing a button or two. **Shardling women!** he thought, still enraged about the fight with his sister.
**Men, are simple, straightforward.** Toriat looked at Kavlyn, completely unsure of the look on his face, since his own mind was anything but straightforward at the moment. Why had he come here, to talk out his frustration, or to use it to prove he wasn't sexless.
**Although how private relations would prove anything to anyone, I don't know** he thought, but it sure would make him feel significantly better.
Kavlyn grinned as reached past Toriat to shut the door. "Well, well. So did you bring me a treat, or _are_ you the treat?"
"Not... exactly," Toriat responded, as he cupped Kavlyn's neck, bringing him in for a kiss. **I'm sorry,** he couldn't help thinking, knowing he was using the tailor. But he knew Kavlyn could wipe the sting of the earlier conversation from memory.
When they broke apart, Kavlyn wrapped a friendly arm around Toriat's waist and steered him into his quarters. "Not that I don't appreciate the visit, but what made you so fiesty?"
Torait, still worked up, took the comment a bit wrong. "I am _not_
sexless!" he replied defensively, jerking away from Kavlyn.
Kavlyn's eyebrow went up, but he seemed to take the outburst in stride otherwise. "You don't have to tell _me_ that. I was about to lure you into my bed so I could do terribly naughty things to you."
"Please, yes, Kavlyn," he responded. The ragged breathing of anger and embarrassment that had drove him in here, was slowly turning to anticipation.
But he still couldn't get rid of the alarms in the back of his head, that this was wrong. "Shards, what is wrong with me!" he yelled and began hitting the walls in frustration.
Kavlyn was far stronger than he looked, and managed to get an arm around Toriat, using his strength to pin the other man's arms down. "Calm down, Toriat. Just... calm down and tell me what you're so sharding _confused_
about. Before you break your hands or my walls, please."
"She called me on it, all of it Kavlyn. I had a fight with Aryn, in the dinning caverns." He laughed, a desperate laugh. "I'm surprised you didn't hear it from here, everyone else seems to know." His head hung. "I just was concerned about her, and Birigundi..." Toriat realized with each telling how silly this sounded, so continued.
"...and she began yelling back. How does she knew my personal life?
Or at least most of it, am I so obvious?"
"And now, I'm here with you, to prove I'm not sexless. She called me that, you know." He had considerably calmed down, through his little speech, and became still, accepting, and enjoying the fact Kavlyn surrounded him. "I'm sorry, I just feel like I'm using you. But, I suspect you don't care, and I don't know if that makes me less or more upset."
He tried to turn his head to Kavlyn, "Can you help me? I have to get past my holder mindset, or I won't be able to stay I think." He gave a weak laugh. "Maybe we can try this without me being roaring drunk?"
Backing off, Kavlyn took hold of Toriat's elbow and led him to the couch.
"While I'm perfectly happy to help you get used to the way things are here, I think maybe we should sit down and make sure you're all right with it."
"I cannot continue like this Kavlyn. No one, is supporting me in trying to warn Aryn" he said rather poutilly, "My eye falls to impossible people, and then when a green announces herself..." his body racked in a huge exhalation of breath. "How do people adjust?
I really do want to stay." He paused, "I think, I've compound my issues, with that stupid lesson."
"Take a deep breath," Kavlyn said firmly. "Maybe two. And as for adjusting... you just have to decide that some things aren't as big a deal as they're made out to be. And your sister... well, she'll take care of herself."
"I think," Toriat responded, eyes blinking, making sure there was no more moisture. "I think, that I'd like to know that love is still possible, the needs of the dragon considered and all. That such things, are not only casual?" He shrugged. "I guess you're right, everyone about Aryn. She and Viyanth will take care of each other.
But hey, do me a favor, when Viyanth rises, keep me occupied if I'm not already?" He laughed, "_that_ can't be unreasonable, right?"
Kavlyn grinned and pulled Toriat a little closer. "I think that's something I'm _more_ than willing to do."
"Show me, Kavlyn, how exactly will you occupy me?" Toriat asked trying to put on his best grin while leaning even more into Kavlyn. He was sure there would still be issues, but he knew exactly what would help, right now.
"I'd be happy to," Kavlyn replied, glad that the thinking part of the evening was over. It had never been his specialty, after all.
