A familiar delicate green landed next to T'bel's Fanth. **Company for
you?** he teased her.
}:And company for you:{ she teased back, in a good mood. She nuzzled a
greeting to Samdrath before taking off to catch a wherry for her dinner.
She'd been off her feed for a while now, so T'bel was glad to see her take
to chasing the wherry with good speed. Turning from watching his lifemate
catch and quickly kill her prey, he glanced up at Hanni and smiled a
greeting. "You coming down from that green beauty, or are you making sure
all those bronze boys over there admire you first?" He waved a hand in the
direction of some bronze Weyrlings who were indeed watching the green rider
with no small interrest.
"Nothing but boys," she said after a moment when she glanced over at them.
"But I could give them something to think about," she said with a grin as
she raised her hand and waved in their direction. "The tall one is kind of
cute."
T'bel squinted over at them, shading the sun from his eyes a bit. "He's a
_bit_young, wouldn't you say? You thinking he's needs a teacher for the
'ways' of the Weyr?"
"Not my style," she said. "But I can let them hope a bit."
"Maybe you can also give them advice on how to get rid of all those spots on their faces as well." He gave Samdrath an affectionate pat on the shoulder. "She's looking fine these days, wish I could say the same for my Fanth." Peering closer at Hanni's green, he added, "you flirting too?"
"So I'm not the only one teasing them then?" Hanni gave T'bel a knowing
smile. "Give them, dragons and boys, a few months...."
"You're an evil woman, you know that?" he teased. "You too, dearie!" he
added, patting the green one more time. "Poor boys, getting mauled by you
green girls like that..."
"I bet they'd just love it, and you know it."
"Of course they'd love it, they always do. And then they go crying around
about how Weyr woman are whores. They always do." He gave the boys a
disgusted look. He, for one, wished that if the Holds wanted the Weyrs to
stay out of their buisness then the Weyrs should do the same and keep the
dragons only for the Weyr-bred children.
"That old double standard thing, as in it's okay for bronzeriders to run
around with any woman they like, but if a woman behaves like that she's a
slut. Is that what you mean?" Hanni was more than happy with how her life
had turned out. If she'd stayed at her home she'd have been married with
several children by now. Here, and having Samdrath gave her choices.
"Yep, that tired old trick. Along with the 'ewww..I just had to shag a man' thing. I keep hoping they all grow up, but so far, it's not happening. Ah well..." Giving her foot a tug, he added, "get down here girl, you're giving my neck a crick."
"Well give me a hand and we might give them something to think about," she
teased.
"Okay then," he said, holding out his hand in his most gentlemanly
expression.
She took his hand, and used it to jump down, then gave T'bel a hug. "Let
them think on that," she said into his ear.
He planted a big kiss on her lips. "There, let them get all confused by
that."
"Uh-huh," the greenrider turned to the boys and waved again. "Lets see if
they wave back now."
T'bel gave her a quick grope. "There, let them go running back to J'darin
with all sorts of confused questions now."
"I'd so love to hear that conversation," she said with a laugh.
"He'll probably come after us to scold us soon enough. But I need to be
nice, he's taken a shine to G'waren's little boy." He glanced over at the
Weyrlings who did look as though they were mentally scanning through all
their notes about green riders and sexuality.
"Weyrlings, eh. Oh well, bet they gossip faster than these two gorgeous
green's of ours could take us /between/."
"Yes, Holder boys and their repressed ways." He snorted. "At least it
should make dinner gossip interresting." He chuckled, just imagining the
crazy rumours what would be flying by evening.
"Better that we turn up late then, give them a little more to think about."
He laughed in earnest. "You really_are_evil. I'll have to buzz past E'naer in a few days and see if he says anything." Glancing over to the boys, he gave a little wave and blew them a kiss. "There, that should confused them just that little bit more."
Hanni laughed. "They are so not going to know what to make of this.
Hopefully E'naer will see the funny side."
"I hope so, he's taller than the both of us put together. It could be
curtains for us if the doesn't." Wrapping an arm around her and giving her
rear a good pat, just to baffle the boys a bit more, he asked, "do you know
where I can maybe get a fire lizard egg?"
"My Mizey has never let me find any of hers, but I bet someone will know
where there is a gold that's about to clutch." Greens were notoriously bad
mothers, they either forgot about their eggs, leaving them to tunnel snakes
and wild felines, or the eggs just never hatched at all.
"Ah good," he said, watching the greens feed. "I was thinking, if G'waren's kiddy doesn't Impress, it might be good to get him an egg, cheer him up, y'know? And he's not saying anything much but I_know_he and some of his mates are really getting it from those Hold boys. It'd be good to get him something that could protect him a bit. So yes, an egg from a gold girl, please, if you know one. A nice little brown or even a bronze would be nice for the child." He smirked, thinking of the boy with a little bronze whilst the Hold boys had nothing.
"Try the Headwoman, if anyone knows, she will."
T'bel made a mental note to do just that after Fanth fed. "Maybe I might
ask for one for myself whilst I'm at it. It might do my little green girl
out there good to have a silly little pet about. She's really been 'off'
lately."
"Watch out for jealousy, Samdrath couldn't understand when she was just a
hatchling that Mizey needed care as well," cautioned Hanni.
"Really? I hadn't thought of that, it's just she's so off...y'know she
hasn't even Risen lately? She like a few sevendays out, at least."
"I bet she's just a tease, wanting everyone off guard for a memorable
flight," Hanni said lightly.
"Like rider, like dragon, eh?" He used to be a terrible tease before he
fell for G'waren's charms, dispite the man being much older than him.
"She's probably making sure that G'waren is in place to make it really
good." Flights could be something special, but if you were really in tune
with the winner, they could make something truly special from it.
He grinned. "She usually does! I think it miffs her a bit when Manarth
doesn't catch her. Maybe G'waren's stress is throwing his boy out which in
turn is throwing my girly out. who knows?"
"Only the dragons."
