at the beach, and things become... interesting
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 8, day 27 of Turn 3
Since not everyone had dragons who could fly, K'nure and B'ram lit a fire on the beach a little ways down from the Weyr, in a spot nestled between two sand dunes for a little privacy. K'nure produced the grill with a flourish when the two greenriders appeared and promptly began the manly task of barbequing. "Thanks for coming out," he said as he masterfully slapped some kebabs pilfered from the kitchens over the embers. "B'ram tries, but he's not always the best of company."
"Not for blueriders, at least," B'ram said with a smiled as he spread the blankets out besides the fire. Birdalla sat down beside him and crossed her legs. "But I thought you two were friends?"
"Not the kind of friends _he's_ referring to." The brownrider assured her. She raised an eyebrow and hid a smile. Covimei gave the bluerider a shy smile as she sat down beside him.
"Thank you for inviting us, K'nure."
"You were top of my list." The meat was sizzling nicely so he sat down next to her and stretched his long legs out across the sand.
"How's your dragon?"
The young red haired beauty turned her deep blue eyes towards K'nure, her lips trembling. "She's... she's..." Tears filled her eyes. "She's... going to... be... ok..." She grabbed the bluerider's tunic and buried her face into his shoulder with almost painful force as a high pitched wail escaped her lips.
K'nure gingerly put an arm around her and patted her shoulder. He glanced at B'ram. What had he been _thinking_?! "Um. I'm glad to hear that! She's a beautiful dragon." Birdalla tut-tutted and looked at her fingernails as he looked to her for help. "She's in good hands, I'm sure."
B'ram was just as shocked as the bluerider. He looked from the wailing woman to Birdalla's fingernails. Leaning over he whispered, "I thought you said it was just a minor wingscore."
"It is," she whispered back, "but she tends to over-react. A lot.
Want to get me some wine? It'll help me drown her out."
The brownrider obediently reached for the bottle of wine and began opening it. "Is she going to be ok? Should we go back?" he whispered, his eyes squinting a bit as her howls began to be interrupted by rather loud hiccups.
The greenrider glanced at her friend. K'nure was still gingerly patting her back as though she would break. "Naw, she'll be fine.
Give me a glass of wine and then let's go swimming."
"I'm... *hic* sorry... I'm so... *hic* sorry!" Covimei said as she sat back. Her hand absently wiped away the arching bridge of snot that briefly connected the bluerider's shoulder to her nostril. She reached for the glass. "He's just so.. *hic* kind." She downed the glass in one swig and turned her eyes back to K'nure's. Blinking her red and swollen eyes at him Covimei handed the glass back to be refilled. "You are so... kind to... ask... K'nure. So... very..."
her voice broke as a new trickle of tears threatened to fall.
B'ram quickly took the glass and refilled it. "Here, drink this!"
"_Please_." K'nure sounded a little desperate. "And, um, well, the meat's still cooking, so why don't we-"
"Swim," Birdalla said. She downed her glass of wine in one long gulp before pulling off her shirt and dropping it carelessly in the sand.
"You two can go first and B'ram and I-"
"Swim! That sounds like a great idea!" K'nure leapt to his feet and pulled off his boots. "There's nothing like a good swim to work up an appetite, hmm?" And to get out of snotty clothes. The bluerider decided that B'ram had _terrible_ taste in women.
B'ram was thinking at that moment that he had _excellent_ taste in woman as he watched Biralla's shirt hit the sand. "Yes, you two go on ahead and Birdalla and I will... take care of things here!"
Covimei rallied her spirits as she downed the second glass. "Yes, I'd think I'd like to go for a swim," she said with one last long snort as she pulled her shirt over her head. "I didn't bring anything to swim in, though, K'nure. I hope that doesn't bother you.
I know you weren't Weyrbred."
"I assure you, I've adapted well," he said dryly and pulled his own shirt off before bending to unlace his sandals. _Holdbred_?! "I Impressed Rasakith eight turns ago."
"Eight turns? That's it?" Birdalla kicked off her own sandals and turned her face to the sun. "You look older. Way older than B'ram.
You're what, B'ram... twenty? Nineteen?"
B'ram blinked at her a couple times. She _had_ to be kidding. But the look in her eye told him she was serious. He tried his best not to growl as he said, "No, actually, I'm twenty-seven."
As the bluerider stood back to his full height Covimei looked at his chest thoughtfully for a moment. Finally she stated, "Shards, K'nure. I think those are the tiniest nipples I have ever seen."
"Excuse me?!" K'nure looked down at himself. His nipples were just fine! He felt his face flush in humiliation.
But then Birdalla yawned. "They _are_ kind of small. Look at B'ram.
He's... looking _good_." Her smile was sly as she turned to the brownrider on the blanket beside her. "I don't think-" K'nure began hotly, but was cut off.
"Go swim!" Birdalla made little 'shoo!' gestures with her hands and smiled indulgently at Covimei. "It'll do you some good to go play after moping around in your weyr for so long."
Covimei nodded and grabbed the bluerider by the arm. "Come on K'nure. Get your little butt in motion. I need a swim."
B'ram was trying his best not to laugh at the indignant look on his friend's face as he was unceremoniously pushed and pulled up the sand dune.
Birdalla rolled toward him and let her breast brush his arm. She ran her hand up his chest to rest lightly at the base of his throat and her smile was knowing. "Covemei and K'nure look so good together, don't you think?"
"Yes, I do," the brownrider grinned as he let his eyes wonder over her body, not in anyway hiding the fact that he thought she looked pretty sharding good too. "So, I hear you like my nipples."
Her hand began to wander back down the way it had come. "You heard that, did you? Well, I have to let you know that I like all of you."
Her hand stopped on a particularly sensitive area. "_All_ of you. How long do you think Covemei and your friend will be?"
"Long enough... I should think," he barely more than whispered through his suddenly tight throat. His fingers worked their way along her thigh as he grinned in anticipation of what he was sure to come.
"Long enough." Her fingers flexed and she licked her lips. "Are you _sure_ about that?"
B'ram groaned. He was reaching his teasing threshold. Pulling her down with him to the blankets he breathed, "Well, if they come back early and want to watch I have a feeling I will be way to preoccupied to care."
"Mmmm. Your friend likes to watch, does he?" She ran her hands up his sides. "But what I want to do to you might take a long, long while."
Oh shards, that tickled in the most painfully exquisite way. He squirmed a little under her touch. "I think they can wait," the brownrider squeaked before covering her neck with his lips.
Birdalla pursed her lips in annoyance - the man was as thick as a plank and just couldn't understand what she was saying! But his lips were rather persuasive.... maybe a small preview of what she had planned for tonight wouldn't be all that bad. And if she was lucky, K'nure and Covimei wouldn't be _too_ long in the water. It never hurt to have an audience!
