Description: Uetia has a surprise birthday to celebrate!

Zackariath landed on Sirjath's ledge which was getting bit crowded.
U'das recognized G'el's big blue cuddling with Sirjath. He dismounted
and started removed stuff from the cargo nets. "Hey, little help here,
please!" he called in to the weyr. G'el came out.
"Hi uncle U'das," the blue rider greeted.

"Nice to see you again," U'das greeted back and pushed a beer keg to
him. It was followed with several wine skins. "Get those in," he
asked.

"Yes, sir," the bluerider carried his armful to Uetia's weyr while
U'das followed with equally big armful. They weren't going to run out
drinks, he had made sure of it.
"Ah, Seluda U'sel!" U'das was delighted to see his daughter and son
from Far Island Weyr.

"Dad! Put those here," she was directing the preparations. "Hands off
the cake, U'sel!"

U'das grinned. She sounded so much her mother! After he got his hands
free, he went to give her proper hug and kiss on a cheek. "Did you
bring your girls?"

"Not this time. With him here, the party will turn one not suitable
for children," she said, pointing accusing finger at her blueriding
cousin. "I can bring them to see grandpa some other day."

"Why it's always my fault and why isn't any one kissing me?" G'el asked.

"I'll kiss you," Jayonne quipped, handing him a beer.

"You can hang these banners," Seluda said and pushed a bundle of cloth
to the harper's lap.

Uetia shifted restlessly from foot to foot. Jaylene was just dragging
on. Uetia just wanted to go to bath and then found out if anybody had
actually remember her birthday. Her wingmates had already disappeared
after the drills but Jaylene was just not letting her go. Uetia didn't
feel her performance needed that deep analysing. Or maybe the
wingthird's knots just had gone to her head?

"And so that last maneuver...do you think that Sirjath could do that
turn a bit tighter?" Jaylene glanced up from her charts, trying not to
give it all away and laugh when she saw the look on Uetia's face.

"I don't think so, she's not that agile," Uetia replied.

"Hmm..." Jaylene had to put her hand over her mouth to hide the
giggle that was threatening to come out.

U'fouinn wasn't going to miss his cousin's birthingday for anything.
"Come on, D'arvn, we'll have a great time." He said, arm in arm with
the bluerider.

The bluerider smiled at his werymate and patted the slim fingers on
his arm. "You're so cute when you're excited." D'arvn knocked on the
door and they walked in. "Hello everyone, is she here yet?"

"Not yet," U'das replied. "We'll just finishing preparations. This
will be surprise to her."

"You can tell Jaylene's green, that they can come now," Seluda said
and surveyed Uetia's weyr with satisfied expression.

U'das just nodded and his eyes glazed. ** Okay, Zack, tell Reanth that
hers and Sirjath's can come now. *'

}: Love to, I like Reanth:{

** Have you ever met a green you didn't like? ** U'das snorted.
"They'll get the message as soon as Zack stops flirting with Reanth."

"And so on to that last left turn..." Jaylene was droning on when
Reanth gave her a poke.

}:Okay, they're ready for you two now.:{

**Oh, thank the shell, I was boring even myself**

She stood up and stretched. "Come on, Uetia, let's go have a drink at
your place, I think J'zen had said something about wanting a book you
said he could borrow? I'm all out of wine and I know you've got a
nice white stashed back at your place!" She gave the taller girl a
grin and added, "we can have a nice long soak in my bathing pool then
and shoot the breeze." Not giving Uetia time for a retort, she walked
out of her office, assuming the blond would be right behind her.

Suspicious Uetia followed her out. Something _was_ going on? And why
was Sirjath shutting her out too?

As they walked, Jaylene kept up the boring wingthird talk, just to try
and keep Uetia out of sorts until the big moment, and to also not let
the girl get a word in edgewise. "And so with that last three way
flaming exercise..." she was saying as they came up to Uetia's door.
Her laughter finally broke out as she opened the door and stepped
back.

"Happy Birthday, Uetia!" Everyone cried in one voice. Uetia just stood
there, stunned expression on her face.

"And you just thought I was being a snotty wingthird, didn't you?"
Jaylene teased Uetia, before giving her a hug and a kiss on the cheek.

"I thought you'd gone crazy," Uetia replied to her hug and then was
pulled off to hug everyone else. "Uncle U'das, G'el, Seluda, U'sel and
all, what a great surprise!"

"Have a beer, girl, you look like you could use it." Jayonne put a
bottle into her hand and gave her a kiss on the cheek.

"Got one of those for me?" asked P'veas as he arrived. "Sorry I'm late."

D'arvn put an arm around his mate and handed him a beer. He grinned at
the surprise on the birthingday girl's face while everyone
congratulated her.

K'mai made his way up to Uetia. "Can I give the birthday girl a kiss?"

"Of course you can. Everyone can," Uetia replied. "It's nice to see
you all here. Now, let's have some good time!"

K'mai pulled her close and kissed her full on the lips. He even
slipped in a bit of tongue. "Happy birthday!"

U'fouinn smiled at seeing his cousin's expression. He happily accepted
the beer from his mate and took a swig. After things had settled a
bit, he took a moment to wish Uetia a happy birthday.

"U'fouinn, I'm so glad you came too," Uetia said and gave her cousin a big hug.

D'arvn took the opportunity to extend his other arm around her
shoulders and plant a kiss on her cheek. "A very happy birthday
Uetia."

"Thank you," she replied.

"All right, let's have a party!" G'el declared and popped open a
bottle of sparkling wine.

"Great!" Jayonne held up some glasses for the wine to go into.
"J'zen'll be here later, if you're interrested," he whispered to G'el.

When music started to play, D'arvn's eyes lit and he pulled at
U'fouinn's hand "Dance?" The party was going strong and he didn't want
to miss a moment.

U'fouinn was happy for his cousin. When D'arvn tugged his hand and
turned and smiled to his partner, following him with ease onto the
dance floor. It was a wonderful celebration to enjoy.
