E'ril checked the riding straps while he waited for Vandor to come out
from the infirmary. They had finally found a night on which neither of
them would be needed and their earlier plans to leave and have a drink
or two could finally be fulfilled. The bluerider wore the blue tunic
that he had worn to the Hatching and a relatively clean pair of klah
brown riding pants. He had even managed to shave and shower which had
effectively taken a few Turns of his appearance. The recent dry spell
ended tonight is what he had been thinking when preparing for the
evening.

Out of the corner of his eye he spotted a dragon or two start to glide
down from their ledges. The original plan had been tweeked a bit as
more and more people began to hear about it and fancied a night out
for themselves. E'ril just hoped that whatever tavern they ended up at
had a large enough yard for their much larger counterparts and, more
importantly, that the place have enough drink on hand.

Sh'dori waived his hand at E'ril. "Hi, all set to go!" he called.

Loranth landed beside E'ril's blue, almost blending into the night
with his dark hide. "Heya E'ril, 'ello cousin," Sh'del said, more
than ready for a night out with the boys.

"Hello E'ril, Sh'dori." Vandor strode toward the dragonriders, lifting
his hand in greeting. He'd taken a few minutes after his shift was
over to change clothes and his long legs carried him quickly through
the corridors and out to the bowl where the dragonriders waited. "Good
evening to you both."

Loranth landed beside E'ril's blue, almost blending into the night
with his dark hide. "Heya E'ril, 'ello cousin, hey Vandor," Sh'del
said, more than ready for a night out with the boys.

R'enh or more properly Mnoranth sailed from his rather secluded weyr
into the bowl near the others. He'd taken the time to make sure he had
harness in place for passengers if necessary since he didn't know who
all would be coming. "Evening every one," he greeted the others.

C'jex, never being one to miss out on a good time, flew down from his
own weyr as soon as he knew the time had come. "Hello. Can't wait to
get things rolling!" He grinned as he nodded towards the others, many
of whom were his friends, while others he still had yet to really get
to know.

A brown settled down neatly next to C'jex as N'tor flashed him a smile.
It had been a while since he'd been out with his mates and was really
looking forward to a bit of time away from the Weyr.

E'ril greeted each man in turn as they arrived, Dawenth nodding his head
and rumbling his own greetings to his kin. It was going to be a fun
night after all and he was glad to see so many familiar faces as well
as a few new ones. "So, the gang's all here, hm? Let's not waste
anytime then. We'll head for the tavern at the Vintner's Hall as
planned." He lead by example as he mounted Dawenth.

"Vandor, need a ride?" called R'enh. "We're all set up to take you."
He was familiar with the man from his times checking on Meledei and
other injured riders from his own wing.

"Hello R'enh." Vandor waved to the bronzerider, then looked at E'ril.
"I figured I was just going with whomever was willing to take me." He
grinned, his teeth stark against the darkness of his skin. "So _where_
are we going? I know there's a tavern over at the Vintner Hall at
Amber Hills."

K'hetah arrived then, a tad late as he had debated whether or not he
wanted to go. He wasn't normally one for such celebrations, but after
a few stressful months, he decided that it was a good idea to relax
some, and meet some of the others at the Weyr.

Turning in his seat between Dawenth's neck ridges, E'ril looked at the
Healer as he got situated atop the bronze dragon. "Yeah, that was the
place we had in mind, unless anyone has objections." He looked around
the group and shrugged. His blue gave the image of their destination
to the other dragons. The image was clear in his mind as he and his
rider had recently visited.

"Sounds good to me, I been there before. Although not since they had a
new Tavern Master," Sh'dori said. He didn't need the visual from E'ril
but gave Rahmuth his own. The brown took air, circling the weyr few
times before going /between/.

Not seeing any reason to pause, E'ril gave his blue the mental signal to
launch and away they went. After the necessary three beats in /between/
they arrived in the cool night air above the well lit Hall. Dawenth's
dark blue hide was almost invisible to E'ril's unadjusted eyes but he
was well used to this phenomenon and did not panic. Settling near
Rahmuth, E'ril unclipped and slid off his lifemate giving him an
affectionate pat.

Loranth landed next to his working partner and Sh'del slid down the
big brown's shoulder. "Good choice, " he said to E'ril.

Vandor had traveled dragon back enough to be somewhat used to it.
Still, it was always a relief once the trip /between/ was over and he
unbuckled himself then dismounted without assistance. He stretched,
then pulled his jacket off and hooked it over his arm.

R'enh slid down the side of the big bronze to land near the big
healer. They all headed into the tavern and he grinned as he saw
exactly how nice and large the inside of the taproom really was. He
had a nice pocketful of marks and decided to start the night out
right. "A round of ale for the riders," he called to the bartender.

E'ril secured a section of tables in the corner where they would all
fit comfortably. He scoped out the lay of the bar and it's patrons,
keeping an eye out for a certain new friend or any strangers who caught
his eye. When the waitress brought over their drinks there was much
muttering and complimenting of the drinks. Before taking a sip, E'ril
raised a glass. "Here's to the hard working men of Dolphin Cove!"

"Hear hear," said R'enh lifting his glass.

"I'll drink to that!" Vandor seconded and lifted his own glass of
ale. It sloshed a little and a few drops trickled down the sides, but
he made quick work of them when he tilted his head back to take a nice
long pull.

C'jex, too, raised his glass and joined in the toast. "To some of the
best riders on all of Pern!" He added with a grin and a wink.

"And most of the worst!" Sh'del added with a wicked grin on his face.

"The hardest drinking!" Renh downed another shot.

"I'll drink you under the table, that's for sure." Vandor announced as
he took another.

After downing another shot himself E'ril said, "That should get this
night started off right." Taking another drink of wine. He much
preferred the wine than ale.

R'enh chuckled at Vandor "No doubt! I wouldn't attempt to prove you
wrong." He lifted his glass to the big healer.
