She bites!

Writers: Emma, Paula
Date Posted: 25th November 2011

Characters: K'dee, L'ris
Description: Krizdee and Layris discuss the kitchen girls, or one on particular at least
Location: River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 4, day 26 of Turn 6

Time, that was what it would take, thought the young starsmith as he watched
Rukbat make it's descent. It slowly appeared to get larger forming a
burning ball, even as it made it's way down towards the sea.

Klah, that would be a good idea, and keep him awake long enough to make his
observations of the asteroids. Many turns had proven that they were all in
stable orbits, but it seemed that it was a routine chore to have the most
inexperienced astronomers prove that was the case, and spend time mapping
their movement's through Pern's sky.

Pausing a moment to note that it was not yet dark, Krizdee slipped the hide
into his bag, and headed in the direction of the kitchens. If he was lucky,
that pretty blonde girl would be there, the one who had warmed his bed a
night or two back. She had been fun, and he had promised to show her the
stars, some how that seemed to loosen a girl's reserve, amongst other
things.

"Zeffa? You there?" he called out as he entered the kitchen. "I could do
with some klah and some company."

"Sorry, no Zeffa, you just have to settle for me. Klah's always available,"
Layris replied with a grin. He was just pouring freshly made klah from large
kettle to smaller serving vessels.

"Enough there for a mug for me?" Krizdee asked.

"Sure is, Kriz," the cook replied, pulling a mug out of shelf and filling it
with klah. He made it slid across the counter top towards the starsmith.

"Thanks," Krizdee took the mug, and found somewhere to lean back against.
"How are things round here?"

"The usual. Busy," Layris replied laconically.

"Not got anything to tell me, I mean Zeffa has some pretty friends that I'm
sure you know," teased Krizdee.

"Oh, I know, I know Zeffa too. A very friendly girl," Layris grinned. He was
putting a weight on the words very and friendly.

"Have you?" Krizdee put the mug down and made what could only be described
as a lewd gesture. "Well?"

"I don't usually blab about such things," Layris said. "Let's just say that
she's soft and round from all the right places and watch out her teeth.
She's a biter."

"I noticed," Krizdee had a big grin on his face. "But I think I gave as good
as I got."

"Personally, I don't really care about getting marked, or giving marks like
that," Layris said.

"Well with some of the marks I got crafting, you wouldn't know," Krizdee
said with a chuckle. "But she was certainly fun for an evening, or maybe
two."

"Aye, she's that," Layris agreed whole-heartily.

"Although maybe we'll end up having to refrain for a few months soon
enough," joked Krizdee. "For the best of reasons of course."

"Definitely the best of reasons," Layris grinned. "and I never heard of
anyone dying for lack of sex," he continued.

"Although I bet some would say they came close."

Layris laughed then said: "well, suffering is supposed to make us more
noble."

"As does staying up all night to watch the sky."

"Or doing a late shift in the kitchen on top of candidate classes," Layris
replied and yawned. He checked the time. Still more than candlemark before
his shift was over. He poured himself klah too and added plenty of
sweetener.

"Well if you see Zeffa, give her a kiss from me," Krizdee said as he drained
his klah mug. "I really should get back outside and finish my observations."

"Love to, I'll give her two," Layris smirked.

"Enjoy!" The mug was set down on the side. "Need me to put this in the
sink?"

"Yes, if you would be so kind," Layris replied. He would be washing it later
anyways.

"I think I can manage that," he said with a laugh as he walked far enough to
put the mug in the sink. "See you later?"

"Yeah. Have fun stargazing," Layris waived his hand.

"I'll try."
