Accident Waiting to Happen

Writers: Len, Paula
Date Posted: 21st December 2011

Characters: L'ris, A'shel
Description: Tyerth just wants to play...rough.
Location: River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 5, day 6 of Turn 6

Tyerth crouched, stalking his prey. His tail and whole back body shook
with excitement. He looked much like feline ready to bounce a small
critter. He crouched deeper and leaped! It would have looked more
impressive if he hadn't tripped to his own wing tip, gone head over
heel and landed back first on his clutch brother.

"Tyerth!" L'ris cried with horrified voice.

}: Ouch, ouch, that hurt! :{

}:OUCH!:{ Himarth tried to sit up from under the mass of brown
clutchbrother. }:What'd I do?:{

A'shel would have help his slender lifemate up..if the site of the two
draonets wasn't so funny, complete with comical expressions on both
their faces. As it was he just rolled on the chair, laughing.

"Are you two all right?" L'ris started to straighten up his dragon and
check if he was unharmed.
"With stunts like that, you're going to get somebody hurt," he scolded.

Himarth managed to get out from under the larger clutchmate. With a
sniff, he tucked his wings tightly onto his back and if dragons could
glare, he was giving Tyerth an eyeful. A'shel looked a bit sheepish as
he bent down to make sure his blue was okay.

"He is not hurt, is he?" L'ris asked with worried tone.

"If it's pride you're talking about, then yep." A'shel's eyes
twinkled with amusement. "But physically, nah, he's fine."

"Oh, good," L'ris said and let out a deep breath of relief. He gave
A'shel weak grin.

"Hi, I'm A'shel." He offered his hand in greeting after he made sure
Himarth was okay.

"Hi there. I'm L'ris, and that...accident waiting to happen is ...
Tyerth!" The last bit was yelled at the dragonet. The brown was trying
to get the smaller blue to wrestle with him.

}:Make him stop!:{ Himarth whined to A'shel before laying still on the
floor, hoping that would make the bigger clutchbrother leave him
alone.

"Ty! Leave him alone, he's not interested in your rough plays," L'ris
scolded and actually pulled his dragon away from the blue one. Tyerth
was still small enough to do that even if he was sturdy fellow. So was
L'ris too and kitchen work had made him strong.

A'shel got on his knees to comfort his lifemate who was whining much
like a puppy. "He's a bit sensitive," he whispered to L'ris. At that
Himarth crawled into the boy's lap..or at least tried to.

"And he's rowdy." L'ris knew one good way to distract his dragon. He
leaned forward and whispered directly to his earknobs: "food."

}: Where?! :{ Tyerth's head snapped up so fast it banged against L'ris's
chin.

"Ouch!" The pain made L'ris eyes water. "What did I do? Others have
nice, well behaving dragonets and I have...him," he asked with
suffering tone.

Remorseful Tyerth was trying very hard to apologize hurting his rider.
He sounded so miserable and genuinedly sorry, that L'ris patted him
reassuringly. "No harm done," he rubbed his chin. "...hopefully," he
added in quiet voice.

A'shel and Himarth had identical expressions at the brown's antics.
Reaching down, A'shel thought Himarth was perfect for him; he'd never
be able to handle such a active little dragon! "Are you okay?" he
asked L'ris.

"Probably," L'ris rubbed his jaw and replied. "I don't think anything's
broken."

}:Yet,:{ Himarth said to A'shel, still watching the brown with a wary
expression.

Smiling at L'ris, A'shel asked, "should we get these two fed then?
Maybe he'll calm down for you then." **And go back to sleep** he
added in his head.

}:Exactly:{ The blue walked out of the barracks, as food sounded like
a very good idea.

}: That food? :{ Tyerth asked hopefully.

** Right, let's go to feed you, ** L'ris replied and made a shooing
motion. Tyerth bounced after his brother. "Food should help, make him
drowsy," it was wistful thinking, mostly.
