Bayadrin smiled at the young man who he was helping. "Alright here are the ingredients you need to make the bubblys. First you start with making the crust."

Izaronin looked at the assortment of ingredients with dismay. Cooking was so complex! "Right. How do we do that?"

"First you need to measure out your flour." He pointed to the recipe in front of them. "Then you will and the next ingredient. I will be right here. Just follow these instructions. I will start with the filling."

Izaronin looked at the written instructions skeptically. He sighed and picked up a measuring cup, glanced at the ammount needed again, and dipped the cup into the container of flour. He pulled out a heaping cupful and poured it into the waiting mixing bowl.

Bayadrin was watching the young man and stiffled a chuckle. When he had been learning he had been left to make his mistakes. Now he left Izaronin to do the same. It was hard, but had to be done.

That looked like a lot of flour. Izaronin glanced again at the instructions. Then shrugged. Right. Next...sugar. With the same grim determination, Izaronin measured out the sugar too and dropped it in.
"Am I doing this right?"

"Well, If you level off the top of the scoops like so." He showed him.
"Then it would not seem off to you. You have a bit too much of your first to ingrediants but we can work with it. we will just adjust the recipe."

"Oh. Baking is more complex than I thought..." Izaronin tried to copy Bayadrin as best he could. "Hey...is that your flit eating the fruit for the filling?" He pointed.

"Pan, that's not for you." He scooped the flit from the table and depsited him on a chair. "Good thing i'd collected a few extra's hmmm. Pan can be a gluttin sometimes."

"I think he has the right idea. Cooking is a lot of work." Not to mention it takes a long time! "Here...how's that look?" Izaronin had finished adding the ingredients for the pie crust, or so he thought.
It was actually starting to look like dough. Almost.

"It' looks alright. Why don't you work on rolling it out. Take it out of the bowlafter you have spread flour on that counter there. Then using a rolling pin flaten it out."

"Alright." Izaronin dropped a handful of flour on the counter and smeared it around. Then, with hands covered in the stuff, he began to search for a rolling pin, leaving tell-tale marks of his search on drawers and cabinets. "Oh...here's one!" He brandished the rolling pin as if it were a sword, then saluted Bayadrin before attacking the lump of dough.

Bayadrin began laughing. He couldn't help it. He watched the boy with amusement. "I have to ask, did you leave the trail so you could find your way back?" He asked with another good natured laugh.

"What? Oh...shards!" He looked around at the now dirty cabinets. "The kitchen staff is going to kill me..." Torn between trying to make the dough at least somewhat resemble flat and cleaning up his mess, Izaronin wiped a floured hand across his brow, leaving a smear of whait, then grabbed a towel to attack the cabinets. He was better at cleaning than at rolling out dough, aparently.

"Don't worry, it's okay." He said as he laughed. "If I had a mark for every time I did that, I'd be rich by now.?"

"Most like. There. That's most of it off. Now what?" The dough was as flat as it was going to get, and the cabinets were about as clean as they were going to get. Izaronin sighed. "I'm never going to get the hang of this!"

"All it takes is practice and time. You are doing just fine. Here let me help you and we will have these done in no time." He smiled as he started getting the crust in place.

"Thanks, Bayadrin." Izaronin leaned on the floured counter and watched him turn the dough into something that started to resemble a pie.

"Not a problem."
