Description: W'ser clears T'bel and Fanth for Threadfall.
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 8, day 3 of Turn 6

W'ser brushed his hands off onto his breeches, smearing them
inadvertently with numbweed as he stepped back from the dragon that he
was working with. The injury wasn't incredibly serious and thus W'ser
had chosen it has a perfect learning time for one of his young
journeywomen.
}:Fanth and T'bel are ready for our meeting.:{ Branth reported
dutifully to him.
**Please tell them I'm on my way.** W'ser instructed.
"Finish bandaging up the wound." He instructed the journeywoman before
stepping over to the basin and washing his hands and forearms. Shaking
his hands and letting them air dry as he walked, W'ser smiled when he
opened his office door to find the greenrider waiting on him.
"T'bel! How are you?"
The slender greenrider grinned. "Good! Well...almost good. All this
time off has gotten me lazy these days." He patted a still flat
stomach, imagining it to be bigger than it was.
"Well, you'll have to get yourself back into shape," W'ser said as he
placed his hands on his hips, "once I give Fanth one last look over
you'll be ready to join your Wing once again. Come on, let's go
outside where I can give her a good look."
T'bel led the way out to where the delicate green was waiting. Fanth
was the very epitome of a green in looks, being slender and delicate,
and beautiful. And as grassy green as a spring meadow. Luckily,
T'bel mused, she wasn't very green-like in her state of mind, being as
calm as a dragon could get, and intelligent.
"Ah, beautiful Fanth, it is my pleasure to see you again." W'ser
greeted the dragon as he walked towards her, gave her a respectful
bow, and then proceeded to run his hands along her flanks. As he
walked a circle around the green, the Weyrdragonhealer touched
muscles, prodded flanks, and gave a few scratches here and there.
"Looking good so far. Fanth, would you kindly spread your wings, please?"
The green did just that, after sitting back on her hindlegs so that
the sun could shine through them. There were a few browns about to
impress, after all. Just because she was weyrmated to G'warren's
Manarth didn't mean she couldn't look. T'bel shook his head and
grinned. "Sorry about that, she's just feeling good these days."
W'ser smiled at the green's show, "Nothing to apologize for, she's got
a lot to show off after all." His well trained eyes took in every
tendon and muscle that showed when the dragon spread her wings.
Everything was looking just as it should, and even Branth felt
obligated to emit a croon of admiration for the green's recovery.
"She's really looking good, T'bel. I'll let your Wingleader know that
you and Fanth are ready to join the Wing once more."
"You think? Thank you." T'bel blushed at the compliment for his
lifemate. He knew she was beautiful but it was nice to hear it from
someone else from time to time. "She seems to have gotten over the
accident. Makes me wish I had her memory..." He sighed inward and
gave W'ser a sad smile.
W'ser clapped T'bel on the shoulder, "Once you get back in the sky
with Fanth for your first 'Fall it'll help."
"I just can't stop thinking about it all. I mean, what if only M'non
had gotten freed of that poor child and his brown. What if..." his
voice stopped in a choke, tears spilling down his cheeks.
The Weyrdragonhealer gave T'bel's shoulder a squeeze, understanding
how hard it was for T'bel, "That's the life we lead as dragonriders.
We run the risk of such disasters every time we enter the skies. A
reason we must live our lives so fully every day that we can."
"It is..." He wiped the tears from his face and looked at W'ser.
"You ever miss not fighting Thread? Or is this a better way to fight
it?"
"I, personally, don't miss it. Of course, it's a different story for
Branth. As a healthy dragon he's ready to take to the skies to defend
his home, but, he understands that he and I are needed here on the
ground. I wouldn't say what I do is a better way to fight Thread.
People are needed in the skies, and people are needed on the ground to
support and care for those fighters. We're all just dependent on one
another."
"We are." The slender greenrider squeezed W'ser's hand on his
shoulder once before nodding to his Fanth. "So she's good to go?
P'nal'll be happy."
W'ser nodded, "She's good to go. I'd take it easy the first 'Fall. If
she shows any signs of being weary don't hesitate to bring her back to
the Weyr."
"Will do.". T'bel gave Fanth a hug around her neck and she,in turn,
nuzzled the cheek of the master healer.
