Description: Lenala and M'galec bump into each other at the infirmary.
Location: River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 13, day 6 of Turn 6
Notes: Mentioned: Rhosyn
Lenala was doing a round in the infirmary as Rhosyn had assigned her to do.
The task didn't belong to her favorites. She never knew what to say for
patients, so she resorted to flirting... if the injured rider was male and
didn't ride a green. So, when she left the brownrider's bedside, the man
did seem much cheerier and little bit in love with her.
M'galec also was not happy when the goldrider wandered around his
infirmary. She seemed to like to get familiar with his patients.
Obviously, it was to throw up in his face that she had kicked him out of
her weyr and out of her life. Though, she was still a goldrider, and for
appearances sake, he was civil. Though only for appearances.
"And how are we this morning, F'nio?" he asked, taking the man's wrist to
check his pulse, though his eyes followed Lenala as she moved away from the
brownrider.
Lenala tried to cover her glance at his direction. She had been afraid of
this, running into him at the infirmary. Just sight of him made her heart
beat faster. And she had absolutely no idea to what to say to him.
"Not to worry. A little discomfort is completely normal," the bronzerider
replied, though he was only half listening to what the man had to say.
Lenala had obviously looked his way. Was that accidental? Was she trying
to make sure he was indeed watching her? "I will send an apprentice over
with a little tea that will help."
Lenala had moved over to sit with a greenrider. "How are you doing?" she
asked her. But her attention kept shifting into M'galec.
M'galec waved over an apprentice and began passing on instructions to her,
though as he spoke, his eyes were mostly on the goldrider sitting beside
one of his patient's bed. His gaze snapped back to his assistant the
moment his eyes met Lenala's, as if she would not notice.
The green rider didn't really appreciate Lenala's attempt to cheer her,
mostly because she could she her attention wandering. Finally Lenala
decided to give up. She's done enough for one day. M'galec looked like he
was thinking she was there just to annoy him. She gave the greenrider get
well soon, and stood up to leave the infirmary.
As she was walking down the ailse, the greenrider said rather weakly,
"Umm... Sir? That goldrider forgot her papers..."
M'galec turned and saw that Lenala had indeed left a small stack of hides
on the stand next to his patient's bed. Part of him wanted to ignore them
and let her come back for them later. But, the bronzerider had,
annoyingly, been raised to be a gentlemen. Most of the time. With a
slight frown and a nod, he walked over and picked them up and followed the
goldrider.
Lenala hadn't even noticed she was missing something until she got outside.
She stopped and slapped her forehead. Shardit, did she have to go back
there?
As she turned to go back into the infirmary, she nearly bumped straight
into the bronzerider. "Watch out!" He reached out his hand to grab her
arm and prevent them from colliding into each other.
"Ouh, M'galec!" she cried with breathless little voice.
He made sure she was steady on her feet before dropping his hand to his
side once more. "Forgive me. I thought you might run straight into me."
"You just startled me. I forgot something inside," Lenala said, droping her
gaze to the ground. She was sure she would lost it if she looked him in
they eyes.
"This?" he asked, holding up the papers he had followed her to return.
"Just that, thank you," Lenala replied and took the hides. Automatically,
she leaned little closer to him. She could smell him, and it brought back
memories. It was so familiar, that mix of redworth, numbweed, firestone and
masculine sweat.
"My patient brought it to my attention. I thought you might need it."
As she leaned closer, M'galec couldn't help but notice her neckline, which
showed just enough cleavage to grab your notice without being distasteful.
At that angle, he could see fairly far down it. He could imagine the rest
clearly. After all, he had become very familiar with them when they were
briefly weyrmated. Of course, so were many other men.
"Thank you, you're always such a...gentleman," Lenala said...although what
she really wanted to say was: I miss you and I'm lonely!
The compliment made the bronzerider stand a little straighter. No matter
what, he hoped he always behaved in a dignified manner. He couldn't help
but wonder what new tactic she was trying to employ, but for sure, he would
not prove her wrong now. "Good day to you," he said with a polite bow
before turning on his heel to head back to his work.
Lenala watched him go and sighed. Then she headed for her weyr, pondering
if there was any way to win him back.
