After hearing the rumors about River Bluff's Weyrwoman, Z'an had wasted little time
in strapping up Vicarth to check up on the woman himself.
Announcing himself to the watch dragon, Vicarth swung down and landed
with a croon, allowing his rider to unstrap and make his way to the
Weyrwoman's weyr. Rapping on the door, he waited impatiently, shifting
his weight from foot to foot.
Gelira answered the door. "Good day, can I help you?"
As the door opened, Z'an gave a flash of teeth in a hopeful smile. "I certainly
hope so. I'm here to check on Rhosyn. I heard she was injured and just wanted
to make sure that she's alright."
Gelira smiled at the brownrider, having noted his knots. "She is
alright, but she is still recovering."
Turning on all the charm in his brown eyes, Z'an smiled. "I
was hoping to see her. I won't be long, I promise."
"I'm afraid she isn't taking any visitors and is under strict orders
to rest. I could take a message for you, if you'd like? Or deliver one
to her when she is awake?" Gelira smiled at the rider in return,
hoping he wouldn't be as pushy as some of the _other_ visitors had
been. She wasn't sure she could handle that again.
"No visitors at all? Even friends?" His eyes softened with worry
as he looked towards the door and then back at the girl in front of
him. Taking a chance, he caught her hand and held it. "Look, I'd not
be long. I just want to make sure my friend is healing alright.
Just to look in on her. That's all." He paused. "I care for her."
She liked him, _alot_ and Gelira wished she could honor his request,
but she had her orders from Rhosyn.
"I wish I could," she replied, "but the Weyrwoman has me under
strict orders. No visitors."
Holding her hand with both of his, Z?an stroked his fingers over her knuckles.
?I just want to peek in on her. That?s all. She won?t even know I was there
and then I?ll leave.? He tilted his head and lifted her knuckles to his lips.
?Then perhaps take a lovely lady to dinner??
"You are _very_ charming," Gelira replied. "But I cannot. Rhosyn is
not seeing visitors yet," **Though I'm sure she wouldn't mind _your_
attentions,** Gelira thought as she smiled warmly at the rider. "I can
speak to her when she awakes and see if she is ready to see anyone
yet. What is your name so I know whom to tell her has come calling?"
**And so I can remember it as well.** "Perhaps I can even go see if
she is awake now and ask her, but I can't promise anything."
Z'an gave a soft sigh and ran his fingers over the palm of the girls hand
slowly. "Would you mind terribly doing that? I'd appreciate it. You can even
tell her that if she just lets me in, I'll bring her some of those cream puffs she
likes so much. Tell her it's Z'an. "
"I'll check, but don't expect much as she hasn't seen any visitors at
all," Gelira replied, then turning she glanced back. "Wait here," she
commanded him, lest he try and follow her.
Moving to the back of the weyr, she entered Rhosyn's private area.
"Rhosyn?" she called out softly, checking to see if the goldrider was
even awake.
The noise was a groggy one. She was semi-awake but not very with the
effects of the drugs and her body's attempts to fight off infection. A very
bleary Weyrwoman wished Gelira would just go away.
She didn't seem very awake, but Gelira decided to give it a try for
the handsome rider who was waiting out in the weyr.
"Rhosyn," she moved closer, "A rider, Z'an wanted to see if you were
ready for visitors yet. He's waiting out front to find out."
A rusty chuckle came out from between her lips. Z'an? See her when she
looked like a half healed tuber? "Not yet. Tell him I'll let him know when
I'm ready but thanks for coming."
A voice called out from the entrance, not stepping in, but making sure
he was heard. "I'll bring cream puffs! Besides, you owe me for calling
me Zannypie."
Gelira heaved a sigh. At least he hadn't come all the way in. "Sorry about
that. I'll go take care of him now." She turned on her heel and moved quickly
back to the front of the weyr. Giving him a stern look, she crossed her arms
over her chest and stood in front of the door.
"You _cannot_ go in," she told him firmly. "She is not taking visitors
yet." Then her tone soften a bit, "But she did say she would let you
know as soon as she was ready to see people."
Sighing, Z'an shrugged. "Ah well...at least I tried." His eyes
turned to her warmly. "And so did you, so thank you."
She smiled at him then. "I did. I am sorry she isn't up for visitors
yet. I can have my father's dragon contact you when she lets me know
she is seeing visitors."
"Please do that. And tell her that even though she didn't want to
see me, I'll still get her some cream puffs." He tilted his head
and her and his smile widened. "And would _you_ like anything
in particular?"
Her smile got wider at that, "You're too sweet. Whatever you like,
would be good for me. I enjoy all the sweet treats."
Eyes sparkled as he bowed. "I like anything sweet. Including
charming young women such as yourself. Perhaps we can
meet again sometime, Gelira."
Gelira blushed and giggled a bit at that. "I would like that, Z'an. Very
much."
