}: We spend more time here than we do at home. :{ Vicarth's voice was
amused as they once again landed by River Bluff's lake. Z'an
unstrapped and slid down with an affectionate slap to the brown's
side. }: You like this girl much more than the others, don't you?:{
Z'an paused and looked up at Vicarth with a twinkle in his eye. **She's
interesting, funny, and yes, I do happen to like the girl.** He waved
Vicarth off to go flirt with the greens. It was evening, so perhaps
Gelira wouldn't be too busy and it had been a week since he had seen
her last.
She wasn't all that busy, which was good. She'd finished her meal a
short bit ago and had decided to take a rather relaxing stroll around
the Weyrbowl. Her eyes spotted a dragon and a man she _thought_ she
recognized and she started heading in their direction.
Sighting a young woman headed towards them, Z'an paused and recognized
the walk. He definitely recognized the legs and the hips. A grin split
his face and he gave an appreciative wolf-whistle.
She blushed a bit and hurried up to him. Swatting at his arm, she
said, "Stop that, or you'll have everyone staring!" Yet, Gelira was
grinning rather widely at the compliment he'd just given her in front
of so many other people.
Giving a devilish grin, Z'an bent and pressed a loud, smacking kiss to
her cheek and held his chest in mock supplication. "I can't help it.
Besides..." He waggled his brows. "..you definitely deserve it."
"You're such a show off," she said, but her eyes twinkled and her
voice tinkled with the merriment of his charm. "What brings you here
today?"
"And you like it." Z'an winked and put his arm casually around her
waist. "To see you, actually. Care to have dinner with me?"
She smiled. "I'd love to have dinner with you." She enjoyed spending
time with Z'an. Her thoughts flitted to what had happened between them
the _last_ time they were together. Her stomach did a few flip flops
recalling just how much she'd enjoyed that time.
"Good. As long as I'm not pulling you away from anything Rhosyn might
scold me for." He chuckled and then turned to look down at her for a
moment, his brow arched roguishly. "So, can I at least get a kiss from
a beautiful woman?"
She giggled a bit, "Of course." Then turning to face him, she moved
her lips to meet his.
He met her kiss lightly, tugging her a bit closer before pulling away
with a soft sigh. "Be glad we're out in the open. You're awfully
tempting." He began walking towards the Dining Hall. "How has your day
been?"
"It's been good. Very busy though. Between my normal work at the
Dragonhealers and the extra candidate classes that they've got
starting now since we're getting closer and closer, my schedule is so
full I hardly feel like I have time to breath some days." She was also
excited to be thinking about the upcoming Hatching. She'd Stood many
times before, but this time, she just felt that it would finally work
for her. **It _has_ to.** She wanted it so badly. There was no hope of
her making Journeyman Dragonhealer unless she did.
He nodded in understanding. "I remember what it was like. You wake up
as tired as you were when you went to bed." His lips curled up at the
memory. He led her to the Dining Cavern and handed her a plate and a
glass. "I hate to tell you, but being a weyrling is even harder most
of the time." He smirked. "Especially the first few months."
"It's alright. I've wanted it for quite some time now. I'll be happy
to deal with the effects of those early months if it means one of the
dragons will finally choose me." She was feeling a bit anxious at the
thought since so many times had come and gone and she hadn't Impressed
yet. Her stomach seemed a bit upset just _thinking_ about the Hatching.
She took the plate and glass from him and smiled her thank you. Moving
about the main table, she gathered up her food and carried it to one
of the tables. Taking her seat, she waited for him to join her.
"How has everything been for you?" She asked.
Z'an shrugged and sat beside her, his thigh pressed against hers.
"About the same. Thread, drills, bathing dragon and a few green
flights. Nothing new or exciting, to be honest." He turned to look at
Gelira. "It'll happen, Gelira." He reached to lightly rub her back
in comfort. " It may not be this time, or the next, but there will be
other clutches too. Sometimes it takes time."
She gave him a half-smile. "I know it will. I just....worry. I've
Stood for some time and it hasn't happened yet. I don't know if it
ever will." She sighed a bit. Looking down at her food, she found she
wasn't very hungry at all. She pushed at it with her fork, not really
taking a bite.
He gently poked at her ribs. "Well, don't. It could be that your
dragon simply hasn't been clutched yet. " He reached to tug lightly at
her lower lip. "Don't make me distract you. I'll do it. I swear."
With his fingers near her mouth her eyes took on a different tone and
she finally let out her breath and chuckled a bit. "I'm glad you're here
Z'an," Gelira replied, shifting so she could lay her head against his
shoulder. "I've been so worked up over the Hatching that I think I'm
making myself sick."
He wrapped an arm around her and gave her a warm hug, taking advantage
of her closeness to tug her right next to his side. Kissing the top of
her head, he smiled. "You need to stop worrying, Gelira. No use being
sick about it, you know. Just think of more pleasant things." He
paused and his eyes twinkled. "Like me."
She chuckled a bit and smiled. "You know. _If_ I do Impress, we won't
be allowed to be together for awhile?" She raised her eyebrows
suggestively. She'd missed his touch and had wanted to feel it again.
"Hmm...That is a good point." He bent to whisper in her ear. "Then we
better make we get enough of each other to last until we can,
shouldn't we?"
She giggled. "Come on. I know the perfect place." Gelira rose and took
his hand, anticipating already filling her at thought of what was to come.
