Tavia

Tavia took a moment to straighten up and arch her back. She felt like
she'd been packing and unpacking for weeks even though it was only a
few days. "Well," she said to herself as she surveyed the room. There
was only a little more to do and then she could rest for the balance
of the night. "Almost done."

"Does this look right?" U'kaiah asked, standing back to check that
tapestry was hanging straight against the wall. "That side isn't
dropping, is it?" It looked level to him, but the way the ceiling
wasn't quite perfect in that area, he wasn't exactly sure.

She turned and walked to stand next to him to get perspective. After
tilting her head a couple of times. "Looks good," she smiled and put
an arm around his waist. "Thanks for all your help."

"Of course," he said, wrapping his arms around her in response. "Why
don't we finish the rest in the morning? You must be exhausted."

"Good idea," she said hugging him back. "I am weary," she smiled "and
hungry."

"Well, then, why don't we get us some food, we can bring it back here
and have a little picnic and then slip under the furs?" he suggested
with a little knowing brow wiggle.

"I love that idea," she said with a wiggle of her own. But she'd been
thinking about it and wanted to share her thoughts with him.
Truthfully, she hadn't expected the other green rider to come help her
unpack even though she'd have offered if the situation were reversed.
This was hard for her and she could only imagine it was hard for the
other woman as well. But she wanted to keep U'kaiah happy and that
also meant keeping Aileyan as happy as she could.

"But you know this is bigger than just you and me. We want to make
this work and I think _maybe_ the best thing you could do tonight is
to be with Aileyan to reassure her."

U'kaiah pulled back to look at her, surprised and a little perplexed.
He didn't know quite where she was coming from. Her coming meant they
could finally be together on more than just a random chance basis.
Didn't she want to celebrate that fact with him? Was she trying to turn
him down kindly? "You know we don't _have_ to have sex if you're tired.
I would never push you..."

She smiled softly up at him. "Trust me I'm quite hungry for you. We
have lots of nights, and days, and afternoons and pools and desks
ahead of us." She chuckled at some of the memories of their fun times
together. They'd become so serious after Kaiavin that it seemed like
she needed to infuse some of that fun back.

"Come play with me tomorrow night," she squeezed him and wiggled one
more time. "Tonight go show Aileyan that she isn't losing you because
I'm here. I can wait." She wasn't quite sure why she felt it was so
important to them all. but somehow it was.

Now the bronzerider was torn. He really did want to spend the night
with her, but at the same time, Aileyan's fears did need to be
addressed. Still, he would never choose one woman over the other. He
loved them _both_. And a small part of him couldn't help but wonder if
this wasn't some sort of test. Women had a tendency to say one thing
but secretly hope their lover would understand their innermost thoughts.
**Women...** he thought with a confused, inward sigh.

"I want to be with you. But if you think I should be with her tonight,
I will go..." He hoped that was a safe enough answer, but braced for the
worst just in case.

She grinned and hugged him harder. It wasn't easy to push him toward
the other greenrider but if she were to think of Aielyan as competition
they were doomed to fail. She had to think of her more like family,
more like a sister. "I'd love to be with you too but we're all a
family now. She needs you, and I'll see you tomorrow."

Not only that but she'd make an effort to make friends, she had few
enough of them here as it was.
