"So...I hear there are congratulations in order." Rorela slid onto the
bench beside G'nir and handed him a wine skin. "A gold egg. Care to
have a drink with me to celebrate?"
"Thank you. Yes, we have a gold egg," G'nir replied. He was happy man
right now. Only thing better would be the egg to be from Nirreth's and
Genith's Clutch.
She pointedly poured a cup of wine and nudged it to him, then poured
her one. "So, we'll probably get flocks of candidates for this
hatching too. And it's a large clutch...we really needed that." She
grinned.
"Oh, yes. Plenty of hopeful young women," G'nir replied and lifted his
cup. "Toast to gold eggs!"
**And here's to this one too.** Rorela lifted her cup at his toast and
took a sip, then curled her legs up beside him, resting her chin on
her hand as she looked at him.
"So, what have you been up to?" G'nir asked.
She refilled his cup. "Well, outside of duties for the wing, I've been
helping Harki on a little project. One of the green weyrlings is a bit
shy and we're helping her open up." She flashed a grin full of
mischief before lifting her own glass in another toast. "To more
weyrlings!"
G'nir clicked his glass with hers. "Should I feel sorry for that
little weyrling?" he asked.
"Not at all!" She replied archly, holding a hand to her chest. "Harki
and I are simply contributing her necessary education as a
greenrider." She fluttered her lashes.
"Then I should feel sorry for the Weyr's male population. If you're
turning her in to you," G'nir said and poured them more drink.
"Hey!" Rorela poked at G'nir's arm. "I'm adorable and you know it."
She sipped her drink and considered him. "Oh...I found something at
the market for you..."
"So is Harki," G'nir replied. "Oh, what?" he asked.
She eyed him and then grinned. "And so is Paetri. We shall be the
toast of the weyr, just you wait." She picked up the wine skin and
turned it in her hand as she sipped her drink. "It's a surprise."
"Now you got me curious," G'nir replied and realized he had emptied his glass.
With a grin, Rorela tipped the rest of the wine into his glass. "Good.
You're supposed to be curious." She glanced around the table and then
dug into the small satchel she had brought with her. Pulling out a
small wrapped package, she handed it to him with a wide smile. "You
can't open it until you drink the rest of your wine."
"Now you sound like my mother. Although she was about 'eat your
vegetables before you get dessert'" G'nir said and drained his glass
in one go.
**I'm trying to give you desert, you silly, silly man. All you need to
do is pick up the spoon** "I'm definitely not your mother. Besides,
you're older than me."
"Good point. See, I was a good boy," G'nir replied and showed her the
empty cup. He normally drank carefully and the wine was getting into
his head. He wasn't drunk yet, but he definently loosing up from his
normal, restrained behaviour.
"A very good boy." Rorela's wine tolerance was working well for her;
she still had a clear head. She grinned widely and put her chin in her
hand. "Now you can open it." The mischievous look was gleaming in her
eye as she grinned.
G'nir opened tha package. His eyebrows lifted when he saw the cover of
the book. "This looks..interesting, thank you." He opened it and
started to flip thru the pages. "You can do that?" He asked. "Oh, done
that."
Rorela watched as he opened it and to her surprise didn't react with
offended dignity. Her smile grew wider as he questioned one page and
then admitted to another. She glanced down at what he had admitted to
and nudged him with her elbow. "Care to show me?" She waggled her
brows
"Of course," he turned to book around so she could look at it. "Does
your body bend that way? It looks impossible."
She eyed him and felt the urge to whack the back of his head for
being obtuse. She looked at the picture and leaned closer to him.
"Well, why don't you find out?"
G'nir didn't answer, just eyed her up and down. The book had an
effect on him. He was after all a bronzerider with healthy libido.
Rorela met his gaze with a wide challenging smile. "What, G'nir?
Afraid you can't keep up with me?"
G'nir had taken enough wine to cloud his judgement and let his
instincts take over. "That won't be problem. I would love to see you
try that...angle."
She leaned a little closer. "Prove it."
"As you wish," G'nir replied with a lust-filled gleam in his eyes. He
got up abruptly up, put the book under his arm and pulled her to her
feet. "My weyr or yours?"
**YES!** Rorela gave a mental whoop of triumph. "Yours. I've never
been inside of it. " Now emboldened, she lifted a hand to slide it
over her chest. "And I intend to keep you very busy."
"Maybe we can have more tips from this," he patted the book. "It's
very...inspiring." He wondered if he should show it to
Hygalia....maybe not. She was way too ladylike for something like
that.
G'nir practically kicked the door open to his weyr and slammed it shut
after them.
She spun face him when the door slammed. She would have wrapped her
arms around his neck, but he was too tall. Instead, with a glint in
her eye, she hopped up, wrapped her legs around his waist and held on
as she pressed her lips against his.
G'nir did stagger a bit under her weight. The book was dropped to the
floor. Their lips sealed together, he carried her to his bedroom and
fell down to bed with her.
