Ojisan smiled when he saw the pile of laundry on their bed. Larken obviously had been about to put them away before but was distracted. He decided that he would surprise his wife by putting it away for her. He hung her dresses neatly in the closet, and was just about to take care of the shirts when she walked in their sleeping room. "Aw, you caught me. I guess I'm not fast enough in my old age."
She smiled as she came closer to give him a peck on the cheek. "It's sweet of you to help, Ojisan."
He his head and caught her lips in a true kiss. "Anything for you, my love." Moving back to the pile of laundry he'd left he asked, "How has your day been?"
"Relaxing. The sun was so warm today... I think I could've fallen asleep, curled up like a dragon!" She moved to help him.
"Oh, it sounds very nice. Maybe we should go together before dinner," he grinned. Ojisan picked up another shirt and began folding it, when a confused look crossed his face. "Love, this isn't _my_ shirt, is it?"
"Hmm?" She looked up.
Ojisan held up a cream colored shirt with a brown dragon finely embroidered on its back. "In fact I'm sure this isn't mine."
A blush flooded her face with heat. "Oh." Shells... "Oh, um... I know whose that is. You see, when I was heading down with my laundry, the basket got really heavy, and a dragonrider happened to be passing my way and was gentlemanly enough to offer to carry it for me."
"Oh, that was very kind of him," Ojisan smiled. "Did you catch his name?"
She blinked. "M'tone."
"Hmmm... M'tone... I don't think I know him," Ojisan turned the shirt around in his again and looked at the design on the back. "Well, I would assume he's a brownrider at least."
Larken felt a pang of guilt suddenly - and had no idea where it came from.
"His dragon's name is Encourth," she told him softly. Why was she feeling like this? She hadn't done anything wrong! Her thoughts drifted back to what she and M'tone discussed. She hadn't done anything wrong...
"Oh, perfect! He should be easy to find, then! M'tone, rider of brown Encourth." He smiled as he set the shirt aside. "After I'm finished here, why don't we go return it and thank him for his kindness."
**We?** "Oh...yes." She bent her head to hide the blush that began to creep up her neck again. "He's probably looking for it."
He handed the shirt over to her as he picked up another one to fold. "Maybe we should take him something. As a thank you. What do you think?"
"That'd be nice, I think." Shells! She wished her cheeks would stop burning...
Ojisan glanced up at his wife. "Larken, are you alright? You look a little flushed." His voice held a note of concern.
"I'm fine, love." She turned up her face to give him a reassuring smile.
"It must be the humidity." Shells, that was a stupid excuse.
Her husband shrugged and smiled. "Well, as long as it isn't something I said," he replied teasingly.
Instead of replying, Larken leaned closer and gave him another peck on the cheek, her lips lingering there a moment longer than usual.
He turned questioning eyes towards his young wife, but a smile turned his lips. Larken hadn't often been bold with her affections, and it always caught him by surprise when she was. Ojisan reached up to caress her soft cheek lightly for a moment before turning back to the task at hand. "I suppose I'd better finish folding this up so we can hurry and give that rider's shirt back."
