Description: Chaysea goes for dinner with Z'an
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 6, day 17 of Turn 7
Whistling to himself, Z'an made his way to the new Headwoman's
quarters. She was a gorgeous little thing, and the shyness that she
had exhibited earlier just made her that much more intriguing. And
Z'an liked intriguing. He came to the door and knocked.
Chaysea had put on some of her nicer clothes, a slimmer fitting black
skirt that clung to her legs when she walked, and a lacey black tunic
to match. It had taken all of her courage to put the clothes on for
they certainly would not have been acceptable at the Hold, even if
they were considered "conservative" by Weyr standards.
She had brushed out her mohagany, shoulder length hair wear it
shimmered in waves. She couldn't remember the last time she had worn
it down out in public. Shaking her head, she opened up the door when
she heard the knock, and she smiled to see it was the same dragonrider
that she had met by the Weyrlake.... Albeit with more clothes.
"Good evening, Z'an."
He immediately whistled as he took in the sight of Chaysea. She looked
far more relaxed and less staid. "Good evening, Chaysea." He looked
over her pointedly. "You look very fetching. "
"Thank you, Z'an." Chaysea would be lying if she didn't admit that it
made her feel good to have a man like the brownrider _noticing_ her.
Men at the Hold never acted as if they even saw her, she was a widow,
a pariah, to them.
He immediately offered his arm. "Is there anywhere you would like to
go in particular?"
Chaysea shook her head, "I am leaving myself in your hands, goodsir,"
she peeked up at him, the hint of a smile on her lips, "as long as you
prove to be trustworthy."
**I'd like to have you in my hands.** Z'an grinned at the thought.
"I'm as trustworthy as any rider I suppose." He bent to mock whisper
into her ear. "Though, with our reputations, you can take that anyway
you'd like." He led her down the hall and to the outside. A simple
thought brought Vicarth, who landed nearby with a flourish, arching
his wings and neck to reveal the gleam of hide. **Show off much?**
}: Just wanted to help. :{ Vicarth rumbled and bent, settling smoothly
into a crouch.
"There's a lovely little spot nearby. A beach. Perhaps we can have a
picnic dinner."
Vicarth's landing had just the effect he had been desiring.
"Oh, Z'an, he is beautiful." Chaysea had yet to become accustomed to
seeing the dragons so close up, and she had never imagined how many
different shades and variations of colors there were.
**I owe you one.**
}: Of course. :{ Vicarth tilted a wing and lowered his head towards
Chaysea with interest.
Z'an grinned and ushered Chaysea forward. "Headwoman Chaysea, this is
Vicarth." He approached the big brown and laid a hand against his
lowered muzzle. "He keeps me as behaved as he can." He gestured her
closer.
"Good evening Vicarth. I have great respect for you already if you are
tasked with keeping this one in line." Chaysea grinned cheekily.
}: I like her. She's got good taste.:{
Z'an snorted and then glanced at Chaysea with a wry smile, then told
her what the brown had said. He slapped the brown's neck companionably
and tilted his head towards the straps. "Ever been on a brown before?"
Chaysea shook her head, sending her hair rippling around her
shoulders, "No, I was brought to the Weyr by a young bluerider." She
looked up at the dragon's neckridge dubiously. It was a long ways up
and she was in a skirt.
Noting her expression, Z'an chuckled. "It's a smoother ride. Not as
jerky to gain height." Vicarth hunkered lower at his rider's request.
"It'll be alright. As lovely as your legs probably are, I'll climb up
first and help you up instead of getting the chance to see for
myself." He winked, then climbed up to offer her his hand.
Chaysea chuckled but the hint of a blush graced her cheek, "Well, you
would be the the first man to see them so I wouldn't know if you were
just being polite or not." She reached up and put her hand in his.
His brows shot up immediately at what she had admitted. A woman with
her beauty was innocent? It wasn't possible. But at her blush, he had
to admit that it was indeed possible. Sweet Faranth, untouched...That
was not something he was used to. He pulled her up gently, settling
her in front of him. He strapped her in front of him and then himself.
Z'an looked over her shoulder at her and spoke gently. "Be careful
admitting that here, Chaysea. Some riders would consider that a
challenge."
"Really?" Chaysea asked, peering over her shoulder with worry in her
eyes. She knew that she was probably very different from most women in
the Weyr, not by choice, but simply a product of how her life had
vicariously unfolded.
"Aye." he nodded. He made a mental request of Vicarth. As the brown
leapt into the air, Z'an's hands fell lightly to Chaysea's waist to
steady her against the powerful thrust upwards. As they rose into the
air, Z'an continued to speak. "Some men here see innocence of any kind
as a challenge. A conquest."
The Headwoman contemplated that for a moment. Only at the Weyr could
virginity be construed as a problem, but for Chaysea it definitely
seemed to be just that. "Thank you, Z'an, for telling me."
He nodded. "You're welcome." His brow furrowed. "Just be careful."
Z'an's lips lifted ruefully. He was glad now that he knew. "And don't
worry Chaysea. I'm not after you for that."
Chaysea smiled at that, "Then what are you after?"
Vicarth banked towards the beach, the setting sun glinting off of his
wings. "Well, to be honest, I wouldn't have minded seeing the legs, if
not more." Z'an admitted. "I enjoy women. Probably too much, if that's
possible. But, as much as I enjoy that, I'm not going to be one of
those to pressure you into that sort of thing." He looked down at her.
"So now, I suppose, I'm just after getting to know you."
"That's good to know, after all, I might not want to be in the friends
category forever. I left the Hall for a reason." She flashed him a
smile over her shoulder.
Z'an's lips curled up and he chuckled as Vicarth swung lower towards
the beach. "Well, I wasn't planning on putting you into any category."
Vicarth back winged, landing on the beach with ease. He settled and
hunkered down low.
Chaysea pulled one leg over and with Z'an's help slid easily to the
soft sand below. The beach at that time of the evening was beautiful
and one again Chaysea could not believe how long she had lived away
from something so wonderful. If she had known this was what the beach
was like she would have left Amber Hills a long time ago.
After he slid down off of Vicarth, Z'an then realized that they had
forgotten a very important part of a picnic. He hadn't brought a
basket of food. He groaned and then began to chuckle softly.
"Well...I'm afraid I didn't plan too well." He frowned at the beach
and scratched behind his ear trying to think. "Hold on a bit." He
glanced around the beach and shrugging, started picking up sticks and
gathering them into a pile. He glanced at Vicarth and the brown gave a
rumble of amusement and bobbed his head as he waded into the water and
thrust his head under. "How do you feel about fire roasted fish?"
Chaysea tossed her head back and laughed, "That sounds perfect."
