Description: Dragonsfall Weyr fly to meet Thread.
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 7, day 14 of Turn 7
Notes: Notes: part 3 of 3
Notes2: late due LOA's, and I tried to get everyone's siggies.
The wings were gathering at the Weyr plateau, preparing to meet the
Thread. G'nir pushed his hair under his helmet and closed the strap
under chin. He walked over to waiting Nirreth, run his hand along
Nirreth's neck and checked the straps. There was no room for error,
Thread did not forgive sloppiness.
Galerith was already chewing firestone, his belly rumbling with the
gas formation.
** All set to go, big fella?** Sh'lua checked from him.
}: Let's go, I'm ready, :{ Galerith replied impatiently.
**Let's wait Weyrleader's go first,** Sh'lua grinned at his eagerness
and easily leaped up and settled to his spot in the big blue's neck.
R'axe and Jayth were positioned with the rest of Cyan Wing going over
their last minute check-list that they always went through. His
check-list always included one last check of his riding straps, his
goggles, helmet and gloves. **Feeling allright?** He asked, thumping
Jayth's flank.
}:Feeling ready.:{ Jayth answered back, his voice gravelly, his tail
twitching with anxious, pent-up tension.
R'axe glanced beside of them to one of his wingmates, Devyn. She was
certainly pretty enough, perhaps he would ahve to look her up in the
Dining Cavern some time.
Devyn was too focused on her dragon to notice R'axe, and she was
worried about J'darin. He had been acting funny ever since N'call and
Haloth had won her last flight. That had been a sevenday ago and she
thought that the bronzerider would have been back to normal by now...
But he wasn't.
}:Clear your mind,:{ Ellyth instructed, }:We can afford no distractions.:{
**You are right of course. I am ready.** Devyn scrambled up onto
Ellyth's neckridge, clipped her riding belt into the straps, and then
pulled her helmet on.
Aileyan glanced towards where Cyan wing was preparing. He was not there.
Damn U'kaiah to /between/. She was also
generally feeling bit under the weather. Was she coming sick?
}: Maybe we should be flying today? :{ Kjarliheth asked with concern.
She could sense her rider wasn't feeling completely well.
Aileyan shook her head. **We're in the queens wing, the Fall isn't
that strenuous. As long as I don't have fever,** she replied.
With the rest of Cyan wing, Ma'din checked his straps, attention
focused on the upcoming thread and the fight that waited for he and
his brown. Aznith rumbled in readiness, the sturdy brown shifting
from side to side as he stretched. **You ready?**
}: Always. :{
Tavia waited patiently with the rest of the queen's wing while she
strapped the final sack of firestone to Sawauth. Her green was excited
and raring to get going. The familiar smell of phosphene began to
drift across the wings as dragon's chewed.
D'ale called an order to Cyan to get them ready to launch as soon as
Azure was aloft.
C'lar was so glad to be back in Cyan after his injury. Ladrith had enjoyed
protecting the queens, but he missed his regular spot and his regular
wingmates. Ladrith rumbled as the firestone built up. }:May we go?:{
**Not yet. But soon.** he told his brown.
M'shan sat already on the back of his brown, just waiting the signal.
With final look around himself, G'nir vaulted to Nirreth's back and
attached the straps. He checked the firestone sacks were secure and
then he gave the signal. Pumping his wings, Nirreth launched to the
air, rest of the Azure wing following.
