It could happen any moment now. Uetia had already warned Sabonus that
Sirjath was due a Mating flight. Like her irritable behaviour during
past few days hadn't already told it to him. Right now, the green was
slumbering on her ledge. Her normal, brownish-green was already
deepening to more greener, glowing shade. As soon as she woke, it was
time. Uncle U'das was already taking Zackariath out of the Weyr. Uetia
herself was feeling restless, pacing back and forth. She should have
been studying charts for the next Fall.

Then it finally happened. Sirjath's eyes snapped open, glowing with
mating lust. She let out a challenging roar. Uetia started towards the
feeding grounds.

Tyerth answered her call. The young brown was eager to catch her.

Xmrenth jostled into position on the weyr rim, flexing and stretching
his bronze wings as he watched Sirjath in the Feeding Pens.

It had been a while since K'lvin had been drawn away for a mating
flight, but this one happened to take place in the middle of a Wing
meeting. "J'ren, would you finish discussing the last Threadfall
reports?" He asked his Wingsecond as he inclined his head to his
wingriders, pushed away from the table and headed for the flight
weyrs.

}:Sirjath rises. I chase!:{ Sebeth announced as a wave of lust rolled
through his rider.

"Uetia," K'mai said with a smile. He loved winning her flights.

Aughashyth's eyes whirled at the green from where he sat near the
feeding grounds. Y'gel wasn't far away and trotted over to merge with
the other riders around Uetia

Not far away Falzeth flexed his blue wings now healed from his
injuries. He'd been practicing and could turn on and wingtip. Great
for chasing greens.

Sirjath looked all the males around her. }:You think you're worth of
me?:{ She challenged them.

}:Oh, yes, we are, :{ Tyerth replied her. Sirjath just snorted at the
young brown. She did eye Sebeth bit more favourably before turning to
admire Aughashyth's bronze hide. Then she launched herself to the air.
Uetia felt their minds fuse together when she rose higher and higher.

Tyerth leaped after her while L'ris watched Uetia with open lust.

**Here we go.** K'mai smiled as Sebeth flew after the green. The blue
bugled a challenge to the other males and called out to Sirjath,
telling her how beautiful she was.

K'lvin leaned casually against the wall of the flight weyr as Xmrenth
jumped skyward after the green. Joining minds with his bronze was a
heady rush but his piercing gaze never left Uetia's visage.

Sirjath took to the air. She was large for green, but still agile and
fast flyer. She was also stronger than average green, so her flights
were longer. She rose to the blue sky, rode the wind.

Tyerth leaped after her.

Falzeth slammed into the air a hairs breadth behind Tyerth. His blue
wings pumped air as he followed the teasing green and surged ahead to
keep close on her tail as only a blue suitor could do.

Aughasyth was slower to get off the ground but his mighty wings caught
an updraft and he was soon soaring along after Sirjath and his mellow
baritone bellow filled the sky like the peal of a huge bell.

Sebeth surged after her, rider and dragon both eager for this flight.
}:I will fly you well again, Sirjath!:{

}: Cocky, aren't we? :{ Sirjath teased him, twisting away from them all.

Tyerth kept silent, concentrating on staying at her wake. She was a tricky one.

When Sirjath made her next move, Sebeth was there. He wrapped himself
around the green with a bugle of triumph as his rider reached for
Uetia.

Falzeth swooped around on a wingtip and sped back to his weyr to sulk
until the next green rose.

Aughashyth simply flew on and out over the ocean then finally dove
into the waves. He rarely caught a green and never a gold, but that
didn't change his desire to chase.

Xmrenth followed suit, finding his way out to the sea where he
rocketed into the cooling depths. Greens were so fickle, and golds so
enamored with the last bronze that flew them. Next time, he told
himself, next time.

Tyerth was disappointed but not surprised. He was still very young. He returned to his ledge while his rider eagerly pulled one of the flight month to his arms.

Sirjath crooned with pleasure, her rider unconsciously echoing her.
