"Home at last!" Yanley said with obvious relief and happiness,
dropping her bags to the floor. She didn't drop Daley however, just
shifted him to better position so she could turn and embrace her
weyrmate.
"I've missed you," he growled into her hair as he inhaled the fresh
aroma of his Yanley. Then he also bent to kiss Daley. "He's gotten so
big," he smiled holding them both a moment longer.
He plucked his son from his mothers arms and cradled the little guy
against his chest for a moment before sweeping his other arm around
Yanley's waist and capturing her lips in a deep kiss.
"I missed you too, terribly. I could have used your support out
there," Yanley said after the kiss break up and she was able to breath
again. She leaned her head against his chest. "It was horrible, poor
Benani."
"I'm sorry I couldn't come with you," he said sincerely. Running the
wing in U'kaiah's absence had made it impossible for him to justify
going to Amber Hills until he got the new wingleader up to speed. "How
is she?"
"I wish I knew for sure. She seems better, but," she shrugged
helpless. "How's things around here? You haven't had it easy either,"
He had heard some of the things that had happened. Weyrwoman's leaving
was kind of news that reached holds too. Besides, she had had her
flits delivering messages back and forth.
"Well," he said, "That is just the work of a dragonrider. We have a
new Wingleader now so it won't be quite as hard." He hugged her hard
against him again. "We can go for visits every rest day until you're
happy as you can be about her condition." D'ale knew how very much
Yanley's family meant to her. He bounced his son in his arms just to
hear the baby giggles and grinned at her. "It's very good to have you
home though."
"It's good to be home," Yanley said. "Daley was quite a charmer. He
absolutely had everyone wrapped around his chubby little fingers," she
told him with proud voice and tickled the boy's chin.
He waggled his eyebrows at Yanley with a mock leer, "Just like his
da." Daley had gotten a fistfull of his hair and D'ale reached up to
prise the tiny hand loose. Then turning just a little serious he
asked, "How tired are you? Shall I go down and get us some dinner?"
"Dragonriding isn't really that strenuous way to travel, I'm not tired
at all," Yanley said.
"Oh good," he said with a grin. "Then I shall not hesitate to tire you
out later." He passed his son back to his mother and went to call down
to the kitchens for two dinners to be sent up. Then he picked up the
bags and took them into their sleeping room.
"I like that idea," she gave him a smile full of promises and took
Daley. While he was busy with the dinner-order and bags, she undressed
the baby and put him into a playground. Both of her flits instantly
flew to entertain the boy.
Once the baby was changed and entertained D'ale came back to her with
a smile and drew her around the corner into their bed chamber for a
more thorough kiss. His hands ran over her curves possessively. "I've
missed you lovely Lady," he growled at her after a pleasurable few
moments.
"And I've missed you, my handsome brownrider," she proceeded to show
exactly how much she had missed.
He growled in her ear after a moment. "I don't think I can wait for
night, Yanley."
"Neither can I," she breathed and pulled him towards their bedroom.
